Book excerpt: Vedic Mathematics is a system of mathematics that allows problems to be solved quickly and efficiently. It is based on the work of Sri Bharathi Krishna Thirthaji Maharaja (1884 – 1964), who devised the system from a close study of the Vedas. It is based on 16 sutras (aphorisms) that provide a principle or a rule of working to solve a problem. This series of books is an attempt to present the material in a modular fashion. Each book focuses on one arithmetic operation - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. These books can be read in any order, but it is recommended that addition and subtraction be read before multiplication and division. This particular book is related to addition only, and subsequent books will cover the other arithmetic operations. The book features screencasts that explain each technique, visuals and interactive exercises.

Book excerpt: Evolution in general means a process of change or transformation. Evolution commonly used to refer to biological, genetic or organic evolution. Evolution is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generation. History of evolutionary theory refers to Overview, Renaissance, Before Darwin, Darwin, Origin of Species, Before synthesis, Modern synthesis, Molecular evolution, Evo-devo, Current research, History of speciation, History of paleontology, etc. Modern synthesis theory of evolution shed light on population genetics, genetic variation, natural selection, eclipse of Darwinism and non-Darwinian theories of evolution. Malthusian completion and variation lead to Natural selection.Mutation lead to Genetic variation and Mendelian inheritance. All these together ended in Modern synthesis. Vedic evolution refers to the philosophy and science of evolution according to Vedas. Hinduism sheds light of the Origin of life, creation and evolution based on Vedas, Brahmanas and Puranas. The Rigveda mentions the Hiranyagarbha (“golden embryo”) as the source of the Personal and Impersonal Universe, similar to the “world egg” motif found in the creation myths of many other civilizations. Hindus find support for evolution in scriptures. Dashavatara has similarities to Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. The Shatapatha Brahmana states that the current human generation descends from Manu, the only man who survived is comparable to the other flood legends, such as the story of the Noah’s Ark mentioned in the Bible and the Quran. Hindu Dharma believes in the evolution and involution of forms of lives according to Karma of individuals. In every form of species exists the soul that stands as eternal witness of thoughts of mind that becomes actions. Author of this book, exhibits his findings of serious research about “Evolution according to Vedas, in relation to that of contemporary modern synthesis theory of evolution, that the origin of man is time immemorial. The end of man is the climax of human evolution i.e., Suddha Prajne, i.e., Pure Consciousness, which is the embodiment of “Sat Chit Ananda i.e,. Eternal Truth – Eternal Knowledge – Eternal Bliss.” The book “Vedic Evolution : Its Philosophy and Science” may become a source book for finding solutions to Global Harmony, Happiness and Peace. Human life lead naturally leads to Pure Consciousness.Vedic Evolution is the evolution of human life from: “Falsity to Truth; from Ignorance to Wisdom; from Death to Immortality.” Vedic message to humanity is: “O Man, you have to live hundred years, evolving healthily-happily and spiritually, until you become one with THAT SUPREME PURE CONSCIOUSNESS WHICH IS ALL PERVASIVE, BOTH IN THE SEEN AND UNSEEN COSMIC EGG OR BRAHMANADA.”

Book Decoding the Vedic System of Knoweldge

Download or read book Decoding the Vedic System of Knoweldge written by Henry Romano and published by DTTV PUBLICATIONS. This book was released on with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the oldest libraries of texts in India is the Vedas. Vedic texts are painstakingly corrected by the teacher. Instructors and students still teach them orally today. Virtual classrooms have allowed females to learn the Vedas and how they were changed through technology. Samaveda has a much more intricate connection with Rigveda than the other Vedas. Because all its verses except seventy-five are directly drawn from the Rigveda, it holds great historical significance. The eighth and especially the ninth of the Soma book provide the bulk of its content. It is similar to the Yajurveda in having been composed only for ritual use since the verses are all intended for chanting during the offering ceremonies. Unlike those in the Rigveda, these stanzas appear in the Sama-Veda as if they were to be spoken or recited. Their significance is solely determined by their relevance to particular rites, removed from their context in the Rigveda. The Vedas have been the subject of voluminous literature over the centuries, written in many languages, including English. Due to their symbolic language, the Vedas remain elusive. Despite exploring every ancient Indian sourcebook, Shankara, Ramanuja, and Madhva did not write full commentaries on the Vedas. Vedas are enigmatic and ethereal, and this adds to their mystery. In contrast to the voluminous commentary on Upanishads, Bhagawad Gita, Brahma sutras, and Mahapuranas, Sri Madhva wrote a short Rigbhyasya. Sayana Madhava, also known as Sayanacharya, is the most common source of information on the Vedas. Vedic texts are covered in complete detail in this voluminous work, basically a literal translation of the Vedas. Those who criticize it point out that it ignores the Vedas' symbolism and the Vedic tenets' hidden meanings. It is for this reason that the Vedas remain inadequately illuminated. In addition, Vedic Sanskrit differs from classical Sanskrit, a currently taught, written, and spoken language. A widespread family of languages, the proto-Indo-European languages, is derived from it.

  • ISBN : 8120832701

Download or read book Vedic Physics written by Keshav Dev Verma and published by Motilal Banarsidass. This book was released on 2012-01-01 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume on Vedic Physics by Keshav Dev Verma is indeed a unique attempt to interpret the ancient Indian literature by defining various symbols, concepts and terminology occurring in Vedic hymns and other texts. While accepting Maharsi Dayananda's view that Vedas are the repository of all true sciences, the author does examine this statement with a view to test it on the hard rock of truth. Shri Verma has selected the Sankhya-Patanjala system that explains the physical world (Universe) on the basis of Cosmic evolution; the Vaisesika-Nyaya expounds the methodology and elaborates the concepts of physics, chemistry and mechanics. Shri Verma has very systematically tried to interpret the Sankhya aphorisms and concludes that the ultimate ground to which the manifested world can be traced is Prakrti having three attributes-Sattva (existence), energy at rest or Rajas (energy that which is efficient in a phenomenon and is characterised by a tendency to move and overcome any resistance) and Tamas (mass or inertia) which resists the Rajas to do work and also resists Sattva from conscious manifestation.

Book The Sanskrit Alphabet with Vedic Extensions

Download or read book The Sanskrit Alphabet with Vedic Extensions written by Ashwini Kumar Aggarwal and published by Devotees of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ashram. This book was released on 2021-01-15 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Sanskrit Alphabet consists of 56 Letters. There are Vowels, Semivowels, Row Class Consonants, Sibilants and the Aspirate. The Alphabet is called अक्षरम् in Sanskrit. Each letter is clearly enunciated with correct movement of the Tongue. Nasals lend a distinct twang and the Vedic chants are a delight to hear because of Accented Vowels. Reading an Avagraha, Ayogavaha, Visarga and Anusvara is properly explained as all the letters of the Alphabet are laid out threadbare. A section on Unicodes and Typesetting in Devanagari with fonts and keyboard IME supporting Vedic Extensions adds relevant value. While reading Vedic Texts, we notice some letters, characters and symbols that are in addition to the standard Sanskrit Alphabet. These characters are the accent marks, sandhi symbols, additional letters and punctuation, that are found in Vedic Sanskrit. There are various samhita recensions of the Veda manuscripts available today, and they differ in the usage of accents and symbols, and also in the enunciation while chanting aloud. Each ashram and gurukul and pundit or scholar needs to be aware of the tone and pitch during recitation and chanting of the Vedas. Even university professors and researchers delving into the Vedas need to be aware of the correct meaning and application of these verses. Furthermore, as we move from offset printing and metal type setting to the computer and smartphone era, this book serves as an invaluable resource. This book builds upon our popular title "The Sanskrit Alphabet". Infused with manuscript passages from the Satapatha Brahmana, Vajasaneyi Madhyandina Samhita, Samaveda and Krishna Yajurveda to illustrate Vedic Symbols. A useful and complete book for the novice, the amateur or the Scholar.

Book Vedic and Creative Math for Class 2

Download or read book Vedic and Creative Math for Class 2 written by Gaurish Borkar and published by Gaurish Borkar. This book was released on 2019-08-27 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It’s interesting to see and experience how kids learn. It’s also interesting to develop something that kids enjoy. Mathematics is manmade subject. Some kids get it quickly and some of them don’t. When we were in school the learning was more Verbal and now days it is more Visual. In fact, kids are more kinaesthetic and they enjoy doing and feeling something all the time. Due to this some kids don’t enjoy school. Math is an abstract topic and it’s also challenging to develop interesting activities for math. Traditional Indian math was action based and has few activity-based methods. Therefore, I have also included few Vedic methods in this course. Because such methods also link children to Vedic math, this may help to transition easily to mental math. If your son or daughter is hyper active then he might enjoy activities more than anything else. Similarly, if your kid is Shy then she might want to experience more. Therefore, for both such kids, activity-based learning is essential. This book is totally activity based and may suit to such kids very well. Every arithmetic operation is done using some activity like drawing or acting. Some of the activities are also paper based. Caution has been taken to ensure that you may cover all the activities with things easily available at home so you need not buy anything specific for these activities. I also added mental math methods in the program to introduce the children to mental math. This book also covers tips and tricks for International Math Olympiad or IMO. It is best suited for kids in class 2. The book mainly consists of simple and easy methods of addition, subtraction, multiplication and basic division. This book also covers multiplication tables. Addition and subtraction is covered up to 4 digits. Multiplication tables are covered till 10 and multiplication of 2-digit numbers is covered as well. Division by numbers up to 10 is covered. I am confident that this is fun and joyful journey to all the students and their parents. I wish you all the best for more love towards mathematics.
