Book excerpt: With the development of the social economy and enlarged volume of information, the application of multiple-attribute decision-making (MADM) has become increasingly complex, uncertain, and obscure. As a further generalization of hesitant fuzzy set (HFS), simplified neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (SNHFS) is an efficient tool to process the vague information and contains the ideas of a single-valued neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (SVNHFS) and an interval neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (INHFS). In this paper, we propose a decision-making approach based on the maximizing deviation method and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) to solve the MADM problems, in which the attribute weight information is incomplete, and the decision information is expressed in simplified neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy elements. Firstly, we inaugurate an optimization model on the basis of maximizing deviation method, which is useful to determine the attribute weights. Secondly, using the idea of the TOPSIS, we determine the relative closeness coefficient of each alternative and based on which we rank the considered alternatives to select the optimal one(s). Finally, we use a numerical example to show the detailed implementation procedure and effectiveness of our method in solvingMADMproblems under simplified neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy environment.

Double-valued neutrosophic sets (DVNSs) are an alternate form of NSs, in which the indeterminacy has two distinct parts: indeterminacy leaning toward truth membership, and indeterminacy leaning toward falsity membership. The aim of this article is to propose novel Dice measures and generalized Dice measures for DVNSs, and to specify Dice measures and asymmetric measures (projection measures) as special cases of generalized Dice measures via specific parameter values. Finally, the proposed generalized Dice measures and generalized weighted Dice measures were applied to pattern recognition and medical diagnosis to show their effectiveness.

Book excerpt: The multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) problems indicate the alternatives which have more or less resemblance to each other. An important mathematical tool used by decision-makers (DMs) to quantify these resemblances is the similarity measure (SM). SM is a powerful tool that measures the resemblance more accurately. Mostly, fuzzy sets (FSs) and its extensions handle the vague and uncertain information by considering the membership, non-membership, and indeterminacy degrees whose sum always lies in the interval [0; 1]. However, single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) and interval-valued neutrosophic sets (IVNSs) have information whose sum is bounded in [0; 3]. In the present work, we extended the SM presented by William and Steel for SVNSs and IVNSs by using the concept of Euclidean distance.
