Book Vapor Liquid Equilibria Using Unifac

Download or read book Vapor Liquid Equilibria Using Unifac written by Aage Fredenslund and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vapor-Liquid Equilibria Using UNIFAC: A Group-Contribution Method focuses on the UNIFAC group-contribution method used in predicting quantitative information on the phase equilibria during separation by estimating activity coefficients. Drawing on tested vapor-liquid equilibrium data on which UNIFAC is based, it demonstrates through examples how the method may be used in practical engineering design calculations. Divided into nine chapters, this volume begins with a discussion of vapor and liquid phase nonidealities and how they are calculated in terms of fugacity and activity coefficients, respectively. It then introduces the reader to the UNIFAC method and how it works, the procedure used in establishing the parameters needed for the model, prediction of binary and multicomponent vapor-liquid equilibria for a large number of systems, the potential of UNIFAC for predicting liquid-liquid equilibria, and how UNIFAC can be used to solve practical distillation design problems. This book will benefit process design engineers who want to reliably predict phase equilibria for designing distillation columns and other separation processes.

Book Working Guide to Vapor Liquid Phase Equilibria Calculations

Download or read book Working Guide to Vapor Liquid Phase Equilibria Calculations written by Tarek Ahmed and published by Gulf Professional Publishing. This book was released on 2009-08-27 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Working Guide to Vapor-Liquid Phase Equilibria Calculations offers a practical guide for calculations of vapor-phase equilibria. The book begins by introducing basic concepts such as vapor pressure, vapor pressure charts, equilibrium ratios, and flash calculations. It then presents methods for predicting the equilibrium ratios of hydrocarbon mixtures: Wilson's correlation, Standing's correlation, convergence pressure method, and Whitson and Torp correlation. The book describes techniques to determine equilibrium ratios of the plus fraction, including Campbell's method, Winn's method, and Katz's method. The remaining chapters cover the solution of phase equilibrium problems in reservoir and process engineering; developments in the field of empirical cubic equations of state (EOS) and their applications in petroleum engineering; and the splitting of the plus fraction for EOS calculations. Includes explanations of formulas Step by step calculations Provides examples and solutions

Book Liquid vapor Equilibria for Ternary Natural Gas Systems

Download or read book Liquid vapor Equilibria for Ternary Natural Gas Systems written by A. J. Kidnay and published by . This book was released on 1981 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vapor liquid equilibrium (VLE) data were measured for the nitrogen + carbon dioxide binary system at 220 and 240K and for the methane + carbon dioxide system at 219.26, 240, and 270K. Ternary VLE measurements were made for the system N2 + CH4 + CO2 at 220K and 6.080, 9.119 and 12.159 MPa, and 240K at 7.093, 9.119 and 12.159 MPa. The multifluid reference corresponding states method proposed by Teja and Rice was applied to VLE calculations and the results of this method for the binary and ternary systems were compared with the results of the Lee-Kesler corresponding states correlation and the Peng-Robinson equation of state. The multifluid and Lee-Kesler methods give comparable results for the constituent binaries of the N2 + CH4 + CO2 system. However, the multifluid model predictions for the ternary system were superior to the predictions of the Lee-Kesler method. The Peng-Robinson equation of state was found to be better than both corresponding states methods for both binary and ternart system VLE predictions. None of the methods produced good representation near the critical points of the binary and ternary systems.

Book Vapor liquid Equilibrium Data

Download or read book Vapor liquid Equilibrium Data written by Shūzō Ōe and published by Elsevier Science & Technology. This book was released on 1989 with total page 784 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data are necessary for the design and operation of distillation processes. It is absolutely impossible to determine a distillation process without VLE data. The author of this book has had much experience designing and constructing distillation processes and towers and knows that VLE data must be easily retrievable, readily comprehensible, and precise. This volume contains the most important VLE data for 1,446 binary systems with Wilson parameters determined by computer processing. The data are also presented graphically. The Wilson equation, which is known as one of the most applicable to multicomponent systems, is employed for computer-aided determination of the optimum parameters using the non-linear least squares method.

Book Vapor Liquid Equilibrium of Ternary Systems

Download or read book Vapor Liquid Equilibrium of Ternary Systems written by Khalid Farhod and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2011-05-17 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Obtaining accurate values for vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) is very important in the design of separation equipment and some industrial applications in chemical engineering. So in order to obtain accurate properties of VLE attention has been turned to calculate them from equations of state (EOS), noting that those equations of state are strongly nonlinear as well as inaccurate results may by obtained when they are applied to nonideal and polar systems. To overcome this problem efforts were directed to modify or improve EOS and their mixing and combining rules. In this book, isobaric vapor- liquid equilibrium for ternary systems has been measured at 101.325 KPa. The measurements were made in recirculating equilibrium still with circulation of both the vapor and liquid phases. . In this book the calculation of VLE K-values is done by using the modified Soave Redlich and Kwong (SRK), modified Peng and Robinson (PR) equations of state and the proposed method that uses the new, three-parameter, temperature dependency form alfa function for the attractive term A of the Peng-Robinson equation of state.
