Cependant, si la nature est devenue une composante essentielle de la qualité de vie des résidents urbains, est-elle aussi en capacité de renforcer l'attractivité touristique des villes, dans un contexte de compétition croissante ? Peut-elle contribuer positivement aux expériences de séjour urbain ? De quelle manière et pour quels types de clientèles ? Cette publication réalisée par Atout France en partenariat avec Val'Hor, l'interprofession de l'horticulture, de la fleuristerie et du paysage, et Nantes Métropole a pour objectif d'identifier ce faisceau d'opportunités encore peu exploré. L'analyse, qui croise les regards d'experts du paysage, de responsables des espaces verts et de professionnels du tourisme, est articulée autour de quatre parties illustrées de nombreux exemples : une première partie introductive fournit les éléments généraux de compréhension sur la notion de nature en ville et l'organisation de la filière horticole et paysagère ; les enjeux spécifiques pour les collectivités - opportunités et risques - sont dans un second temps détaillés ; la troisième partie est dédiée aux pratiques et attentes des clientèles en matière de nature en ville, analysées à partir des témoignages de touristes recueillis lors de focus groupes et sur les réseaux sociaux. Enfin, le cœur de l'ouvrage est consacré à l'identification de pistes stratégiques pour aménager et valoriser l'offre de nature en ville pour les clientèles touristiques. Cette publication, qui constitue le 4ème ouvrage de la collection "Rendez-vous en ville" d'Atout France, collection dédiée au tourisme en ville, positionne la nature comme un élément clé des stratégies touristiques des destinations, amené à prendre une importance croissante dans des villes de plus en plus peuplées et denses.
