En effet, son absence, ou son caractère partiel, engendre des observations difficilement exploitables par les concepteurs automobiles. Pourtant, la validité centrée sur l'humain, relative au conducteur dans le cadre de son expérience de conduite est, aujourd'hui encore, un concept disparate. Nos travaux proposent une vision la plus englobante et clarifiée possible de la validité adressée à la simulation de conduite. Pour étayer ce sujet, nous avons mené deux études observant la validité centrée sur l'humain dans le simulateur dynamique Sherpa2 au sein du groupe Stellantis. Dans les deux cas, nous comparons la conduite en véhicule réel sur piste et la conduite en simulateur. Dans la première étude, l'accent est mis sur l'évolution de données comportementales et déclaratives au cours de 40 minutes de conduite sur deux types de segments de route, une ligne droite et un virage. Dans la seconde étude, nous attirons l'attention sur les réactions comportementales, psychophysiologiques et déclaratives des conducteurs face à un danger imprévu.Les résultats indiquent une validité en faveur du simulateur Sherpa2. Nous émettons une réserve relativement à la validité de certaines mesures psychophysiologiques. En effet, un stress induit par un évènement potentiellement dangereux sur la route a entrainé une augmentation significative des rythmes cardiaque et respiratoire des conducteurs en véhicule réel sur circuit. Cependant, ces indicateurs n'ont pas varié significativement en simulateur, à la différence des réactions comportementales, qui étaient similaires en conditions réelles et simulées.

Book excerpt: Road roughness is gaining increasing importance as an indicator of road condition, both in terms of pavement performance, and as a major determinant of road user costs. This paper defines roughness measurement systems hierachically into four groups, ranging from profilometric methods (2 groups), through response type road roughness measuring systems (RTRRMS's), and, subjective evaluation. The International Roughness Index (IRI) is defined, and the programs for it's calculation are provided. The IRI is based on simulation of the roughness response of a car travelling at 80 km/h. The report explains how all roughness measurements can be related to this scale, also when travelling at lower speeds than 80 km/h. The IRI emerges as a scale that can be used both for calibration and for comparative purposes.
