En la antigüedad clásica, ya se conocían las propiedades terapéuticas del arte y los beneficios de su práctica en el equilibrio general del ser humano.A lo largo de la Historia del Arte contamos con numerosos ejemplos de artistas que ante situaciones límites, enfermedades o trágicos accidentes, han utilizado el arte como medio catalizador de sus males. Se ha elaborado un estudio de la vida y obra de destacados artistas de todos los tiempos, centrándonos principalmente en pintores.En la mayoría de los artistas estudiados, podemos encontrar evidencias suficientes de la reciproca causalidad entre enfermedad y arte, así como señales de una mutua retroalimentación entre ambos.También se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica de los fundamentos teóricos del trabajo arte-terapéutico con enfermos de diferentes patologías, así como de todas las experiencias prácticas que hasta el momento se están realizando en centros sanitarios de nuestro país y del resto del mundo. Desde la intervención enfermera que en la NIC (Nursing Interventions Classification), viene denominada como: ¿Arteterapia¿. Los profesionales de enfermería pueden y deben utilizar el estímulo del arte, buscando la eficiencia en el manejo de situaciones de salud a través del control de las respuestas que generan los estímulos en las diferentes formas de arte, entendiendo que el cuidado enfermero requiere de un acercamiento o una aproximación entre el fenómeno artístico y la disciplina enfermera en beneficio de la salud, del bienestar y de la calidad de vida de los pacientes y de las personas en general. Book excerpt: La educación universitaria tiene por objetivo formar a futuros profesionales que desempeñen su labor con un alto nivel de cualificación. Los conocimientos en Biociencias y la creatividad son una excelente preparación para ofrecer cuidados enfermeros de calidad y responder a una sociedad cambiante, ambos son muy importantes en los estudios de enfermería. La docencia universitaria viene abordando desde hace tiempo las dificultades en el estudio de Biociencias en los estudiantes de enfermería. En esta investigación doctoral, a la docente-investigadora, en su quehacer diario, le preocupan dos asignaturas de Biociencias: Módulo integral de cuidados en el adulto MICIA y Estructura y función del cuerpo humano EFCH. A lo largo del curso académico, en ellas, va disminuyendo paulatinamente el interés y asistencia acompañado de un bajo rendimiento académico de los estudiantes. Antes de implementar metodologías alternativas, investiga a través de un estudio de casos de una investigación-acción para comprender e interpretar las dificultades y los problemas que presentan los estudiantes; y, en base a ello, potenciar aquellas acciones encaminadas a cambiar su realidad práctica Para afrontar la situación comentada, la docente diseña e implementa el Modelo de Educación Artística Integrado en Biociencias, y como investigadora lo evalúa. El modelo incluye el arte como mecanismo formador para la integración y comprensión de la anatomía y fisiopatología de la piel. La investigación consta de dos etapas: en la primera etapa, curso académico 2014-2015, se realizó una intervención preliminar de carácter exploratorio en la asignatura MICIA en un conjunto de 133 estudiantes, con una recogida de información a 11 participantes a través de un Grupo Focal; y, en la segunda etapa, en el 2015-16, se llevó acabo la implementación y evaluación sistemática del modelo, en un proceso de acción-reflexión sobre y en la práctica en dos asignaturas, en MICIA, se intervino a un grupo de 127 estudiantes, y en la asignatura de EFCH en 132 estudiantes; con una recogida de información cuantitativa cualitativa de aprendizaje, satisfacción y pensamiento creativo postintervención en el aula. En conclusión, el modelo aplicado constituye una herramienta de utilidad para el diseño de programas formativos en Biociencias, ya que se confirma que el arte como vehículo formador de anatomía, fisiología, fisiopatología y cuidados de enfermería en el temario de la piel ayuda al aprendizaje de los estudiantes y favorece el pensamiento divergente-proactivo.
