Book Prise en charge de la douleur postop ratoire en chirurgie buccale

Download or read book Prise en charge de la douleur postop ratoire en chirurgie buccale written by Avi Cohen and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Innervation of the Gastrointestinal Tract

Download or read book Innervation of the Gastrointestinal Tract written by Simon Brookes and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-08-27 with total page 560 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The long tube that makes up the gastrointestinal tract is composed of a variety of tissue types and is the largest internal organ of the body. Its main function is to digest food and absorb the released nutrients. Furthermore, it is subdivided into functionally distinct regions that each mediate one of a variety of actions upon the food consumed, including ingestion, propulsion, secretion, digestion, absorption and expulsion. Autonomic neuronal circuitry is intimately involved in controlling many of these multiple functions of the gut, making it an appealing subject for the study of neuroscientists. This book reviews the state of current knowledge on the innervation of the gut by the enteric nervous system, and its interface with the extrinsic innervation, from a number of different perspectives, with the aim of providing a comprehensive and accessible account of the subject.

Book ENT Emergencies

Download or read book ENT Emergencies written by John L. Dornhoffer and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The head and neck, as an anatomical cross roads of multiple functions critical to human well being, including respiration, digestion, sensation, communication, and aesthetics, presents disorders that acutely threaten these vital systems. As with any emergency situation, information devoted to the priorities of management: airway, breathing, circulation, and disability are presented for otolaryngic emergencies that may manifest at each of these levels in the form of acute airway obstruction, epistaxis, and the gamut of traumatic, infectious, and inflammatory disorders that affect special sensation, neurologic function, and cosmesis. Discussed in this issue is the use of modalities such as endoscopy, optics, and radiologic imaging as a means to earlier diagnosis, detailed anatomic assessment, and minimally invasive surgery used in the emergency setting. This text strives to keep practitioners at the forefront in the management of ENT emergencies. Experts in otolaryngology describe those conditions that require urgent evaluation and treatment but are also relatively common. Where evidence-based medicine is lacking, comprehensive reviews of the controversies are presented along with logical treatment algorithms based on clinical expertise. This issue of Otolaryngologic Clinics should be highly relevant to the otolaryngologist as well as the general practitioner and emergency physician.

Book MRI of the Body

    Book Details:
  • Author : Daniel Vanel
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2012-12-06
  • ISBN : 3642875564
  • Pages : 390 pages

Download or read book MRI of the Body written by Daniel Vanel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As with the introduction of x -ray computed tomography, much of the initial development of magnetic resonance applications tended to focus on the central nervous system. The development of magnetic resonance imaging applications to other organ systems such as the chest, abdomen, pelvis and extremities has lagged somewhat behind, awaiting technical improvements, and a broader user base. The past two years have seen a marked increase in imaging applications throughout the body, most notably the musculoskeletal system. It is in this regard, that MRI of the Body is a welcome arrival as a text which describes both basic principles of magnetic resonance ima ging and surveys the current status of magnetic resonance imaging applications throughout the body. The volume is concise, focused, clinically oriented, and abun dantly illustrated. In each organ system, the appropriate technical approach is discussed, the normal anatomic features are reviewed, and the range of pathologic appearances which may be encountered are described. The authors of the chapters provide a balanced overview of MR applications and describe both present limitations and future potential of magnetic resonance imaging applications in the organ system described.
