How do you turn down an unwanted date, navigate a first date, or break up with someone? Is kissing OK? Is marriage really for you? The Bible is sufficient to help you to think through the concerns of singleness and dating, and it has crucial things to say about the thoughts, attitudes, actions, and situations that commonly arise in this exciting stage of life. In friendly, practical letters, Sean and Spencer (and sometimes their wives, Jenny and Taylor) explore God's Word for answers on singleness, the start of a relationship, and tough dating situations, from breakups to broken boundaries. Their biblical insights will help you to make informed decisions on the road ahead.

Book excerpt: Poetry that makes love to your soul. This book is a collection of poems, largely based on life experiences and a small percentage from experiences that friends and family have had. I experienced living on the wrong side of the tracks until my mid-twenties, eventually getting it correct and becoming a resident on the right side of the tracks until present day. A large portion of my poetry ventures into the dark side of life; jail, homelessness, addiction, racism, teen pregnancy, adultery but also dealing with some brighter sides of life including God, love, marriage, and children. If you can see your chest go up and down with every breath and if you can put the palm of your hand on your chest to feel your heart beat then you are alive and a resident of life which means that there is definitely something in here for you. Hopefully it will be something you want to hear, but sometimes it may be something you need to hear. I hope you enjoy this journey with me.

Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to share thoughts of "my" heart. These thoughts you may be able to relate to, have thought about or felt, but were never able to verbalize. As we go through life, situations arise, circumstances change, and problems occur. When these things happen, we have thoughts that generate within us. We keep them to ourselves because we think others may not understand or accept them. A lot of "Thoughts of the Heart" go unspoken. Others may have pondered the words but never found a way to express them. This is the platform God has given me to release my hidden thoughts. Though they were buried internally, now they have been resurrected for all to hear. There is something liberating and therapeutic about sharing what's on your heart.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you are like me you have struggled to accept the modern Christian church’s portrayal (or betrayal) of God, depiction of the devil and description of hell. Many god-fearing people and good-hearted preachers alike have long harbored unspoken thoughts of a more loving, merciful and masterful Creator. However, just about as many who subscribe to this grander vision and version of God also admittedly and even ashamedly lack the ability to reference the Bible and specific passages of scripture in order to publicly validate these privately held higher concepts of God... THE HOLY BIBLE OF INCLUSION will scripturally, extensively and even exhaustively confront theological myths, misrepresentations and mistranslations of the Bible and its Origins – Universal Salvation – the devil – the Purpose of hell and the Fire of God – Sexual Orientation and many others. Join me on this worthwhile and rewarding spiritual journey as we research, rethink, recover and then re-present the awesome and awe-inspiring God of the universe.

Book A Genealogy of the Verse Novel

Download or read book A Genealogy of the Verse Novel written by Catherine Addison and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2017-11-06 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present age has seen an explosion of verse novels in many parts of the world. Australia is a prolific producer, as are the USA and the UK. Novels in verse have also appeared in Canada, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Jamaica and several other countries. A novel written in verse contradicts theories that distinguish the novel as essentially a prose genre. The boundaries of prose and verse are, however, somewhat fluid. This is especially evident in the case of free verse poetry and the kinds of prose used in many Modernist novels. The contemporary outburst may seem a uniquely Postmodernist flouting of generic boundaries, but, in fact, the verse novel is not new. Its origins reach back to at least the eighteenth century. Byron’s Don Juan, in the early nineteenth century, was an important influence on many later examples. Since its first surge in popularity during the Victorian era, it has never died out, though some fine examples, most of them from the earlier twentieth century, have been neglected or forgotten. This book investigates the status of the verse novel as a genre and traces its mainly English-language history from its beginnings. The discussion will be of interest to genre theorists, prosodists, narratologists and literary historians, as well as readers of verse novels wishing for some background to this apparently new literary phenomenon.
