Book Unseen Hands That Lead the Way

Download or read book Unseen Hands That Lead the Way written by Pearly Stanley and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2021-11-08 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I am a living proof that God can qualify those he calls. God can use any one that is willing and ready to be used by him. Throughout my life, he has been so faithful to me. I failed him so many times, but he never failed me once. I wanted to serve him on a broader level. So I asked my heavenly Father to please use me in the way that he knows best. I was pleasantly surprise when he suggested to write this little book, Unseen Hands That Lead the Way. His voice and guidance were so very clear to me. And his presence was so real. I have never experienced the presence of God in such a profound way as when I was writing this book. It drew me in a deeper relationship with the one that I love so very much, and that is my precious Lord Jesus. This little book means so much to me because I can share the love of God with those I don’t know or will never meet this side of heaven. If I had a thousand tongue to speak with, it would still not be enough to express my gratitude for the one who left the splendor of heaven, to come to this cesspool of sin, and to save a wretch like me. Oh, how I love him so. But it is my holy and precious Jesus that loves me even more. This book is not about Pearly Stanley. It is all about the love of God for me. I pray it blesses you the same way that it blessed me.

Book Open Hands Willing Heart

Download or read book Open Hands Willing Heart written by Vivian Mabuni and published by WaterBrook. This book was released on 2019-07-09 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discover how yielding ourselves wholly to God, especially in the midst of challenging circumstances, lends new purpose to our lives. “Vivian Mabuni is a kind and trustworthy guide through one of adulthood’s secrets: life doesn’t go like you thought it would.”—Jen Hatmaker, New York Times best-selling author of For the Love and Of Mess and Moxie As women after God’s heart, we honestly desire to please God. We want to be used by Him and to experience the peace and fulfillment He wants for us. Yet it’s all too easy to fall into living mechanically, with a rule-based approach to the Christian life, or to focus on getting what we want when we want it. Even when we want to be willing, saying yes to whatever God asks often feels scary, and the distractions of this world get in the way. Vivian Mabuni knows this all too well, but she’s discovered that open-handed living starts with an intentional posture of the heart. Through surrender to His will, we draw closer to God in a way that makes our day-to-day lives more purposeful, powerful, and pleasing to Him. With Vivian’s warm encouragement in Open Hands, Willing Heart, you’ll learn how to step out in courageous trust as you invite God to give and take—and move and work—in your life as He sees fit. Along the way you’ll discover true joy and serenity that will carry you through every circumstance.

Book Creativity Inc The Expanded Edition

Download or read book Creativity Inc The Expanded Edition written by Ed Catmull and published by Random House. This book was released on 2014-04-08 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The co-founder and longtime president of Pixar updates and expands his 2014 New York Times bestseller on creative leadership, reflecting on the management principles that built Pixar’s singularly successful culture, and on all he learned during the past nine years that allowed Pixar to retain its creative culture while continuing to evolve. “Might be the most thoughtful management book ever.”—Fast Company For nearly thirty years, Pixar has dominated the world of animation, producing such beloved films as the Toy Story trilogy, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Up, and WALL-E, which have gone on to set box-office records and garner eighteen Academy Awards. The joyous storytelling, the inventive plots, the emotional authenticity: In some ways, Pixar movies are an object lesson in what creativity really is. Here, Catmull reveals the ideals and techniques that have made Pixar so widely admired—and so profitable. As a young man, Ed Catmull had a dream: to make the first computer-animated movie. He nurtured that dream as a Ph.D. student, and then forged a partnership with George Lucas that led, indirectly, to his founding Pixar with Steve Jobs and John Lasseter in 1986. Nine years later, Toy Story was released, changing animation forever. The essential ingredient in that movie’s success—and in the twenty-five movies that followed—was the unique environment that Catmull and his colleagues built at Pixar, based on philosophies that protect the creative process and defy convention, such as: • Give a good idea to a mediocre team and they will screw it up. But give a mediocre idea to a great team and they will either fix it or come up with something better. • It’s not the manager’s job to prevent risks. It’s the manager’s job to make it safe for others to take them. • The cost of preventing errors is often far greater than the cost of fixing them. • A company’s communication structure should not mirror its organizational structure. Everybody should be able to talk to anybody. Creativity, Inc. has been significantly expanded to illuminate the continuing development of the unique culture at Pixar. It features a new introduction, two entirely new chapters, four new chapter postscripts, and changes and updates throughout. Pursuing excellence isn’t a one-off assignment but an ongoing, day-in, day-out, full-time job. And Creativity, Inc. explores how it is done.

Book A Hope in the Unseen

Download or read book A Hope in the Unseen written by Ron Suskind and published by Crown. This book was released on 2010-08-18 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspiring, true coming-of-age story of a ferociously determined young man who, armed only with his intellect and his willpower, fights his way out of despair. In 1993, Cedric Jennings was a bright and ferociously determined honor student at Ballou, a high school in one of Washington D.C.’s most dangerous neighborhoods, where the dropout rate was well into double digits and just 80 students out of more than 1,350 boasted an average of B or better. At Ballou, Cedric had almost no friends. He ate lunch in a classroom most days, plowing through the extra work he asked for, knowing that he was really competing with kids from other, harder schools. Cedric Jennings’s driving ambition—which was fully supported by his forceful mother—was to attend a top college. In September 1995, after years of near superhuman dedication, he realized that ambition when he began as a freshman at Brown University. But he didn't leave his struggles behind. He found himself unprepared for college: he struggled to master classwork and fit in with the white upper-class students. Having traveled too far to turn back, Cedric was left to rely on his intelligence and his determination to maintain hope in the unseen—a future of acceptance and reward. In this updated edition, A Hope in the Unseen chronicles Cedric’s odyssey during his last two years of high school, follows him through his difficult first year at Brown, and tells the story of his subsequent successes in college and the world of work. Eye-opening, sometimes humorous, and often deeply moving, A Hope in the Unseen weaves a crucial new thread into the rich and ongoing narrative of the American experience.

Book excerpt: God is there. You can't see his hand moving, or his hand on you, but you need to know without any doubt that it's there. Ever have those moments when things happen that defy logic or explanation? Things you never would have planned on? Unseen Hand of God is a journey through the real life of Rich Lupia, a kid from Upstate New York with a dream to be a Meteorologist but who almost didn't make it out of high school alive in the early 1990's. Through a friend reaching out to help, he met so many more friends which helped ultimately led him to a personal relationship with Jesus. Through the ups and downs of college and life as a new Christian, he details how he made it through. From the thrill of realizing his lifelong dream, to nearly losing it, Rich honestly tells about his struggles in his walk with Jesus and the mistakes he made. Another lifelong dream comes true becoming a husband and shortly after that a father. Imagine nearly messing up your marriage, then you get a second chance, then face the chance of losing her to cancer? And after that nearly losing your only son to illness? Then step out in faith with the economy crashing around you to go back to your hometown to start over again? As you struggle to rebuild your life where you started it, time is running out to have more children. You pray, try, and it seems God doesn't answer or care. God then gives you something to hold on to, then opens up doors that only He can. Next thing you know, a child comes to your home that you take care of as if it was your own. Without looking and in the midst of chaos, you get the opportunity of a lifetime. And you almost throw it away. By the grace of God, and by his Unseen Hand, you get a second chance to walk down a road he set before you, filled with challenges, but also filled with love and a whole new family you could never plan on your own. You'll see the Unseen Hand of God walk Rich and his family through the journey of foster care to the adoption of three children who would change their lives forever. In the midst of great gain, comes great loss and struggle when mentors and heroes go home to God. When it looked like Rich's career was stuck and this book wouldn't see the light of day, God moved in a miraculous way by his Unseen Hand to bring the story full circle. The story is an amazing one. The thing is so many of us have these amazing and inspiring stories! What would be more amazing is if these stories could be shared more often like they used to be. Not just in church but everywhere. There are so many people around you that may seem fine on social media, but they are hurting. We need to be honest, share our stories of hope, faith and perseverance and and invest in the most important resources we have: Each other! Don't give up when times are tough. You never know what's around the bend or where God will take you. Your story doesn't end here, it starts here. Read the story then follow after Rich's lead and be bold to share it with others. In giving your testimony of faith you'll receive more than you can imagine.
