You'll be inspired to consider how your church could see great impact by blazing new trails! ARE YOU READY TO BE UNREASONABLE? What others are saying about UNREASONABLE CHURCHES: "If you know Rich Birch and the unSeminary, you know he delivers fresh, relevant, and practical recourses for everyday leaders like you and me. In his book UNREASONABLE CHURCHES, Rich keeps true to his track record by providing real examples of innovative ideas that work in local churches along with the encouragement to help you know you can do it too! It's an insider's look into some of the best practices to help any church reach its full potential." - Dan Reiland, Executive Pastor, 12Stone(r) Church "Many times we try to put God in a box to figure out how He grows churches and forms ministry strategies, but the reality is that God cannot be contained. He works uniquely in each church and in each community, and I am thrilled that Rich has captured these insightful stories of brave church leaders who have followed God's promptings and seen incredible results." - Heather Larson, Executive Pastor, Willow Creek Community Church "Rich has an incredible gift for bringing practical insight and wisdom to the churches' most unique and often overwhelming challenges. UNREASONABLE CHURCHES is a great resource to take your next steps in improving your ministry." - Frank Bealer, Family Pastor, Elevation Church "One thing I've learned in two decades of church leadership is that many leaders would rather make excuses than make progress. The truth is, you can make excuses or you can make progress but you can't make both. If you want to keep making excuses, don't read this book. If you want to make progress, prepare to become unreasonable." - Carey Nieuwhof, Founding and Teaching Pastor, Connexus Church, www.careynieuwhof.com "UNREASONABLE CHURCHES challenges church leaders to think daringly about 'the way things have always been done.' Rich challenges the Church to take risks on trying new approaches to ministry including giving leadership training, follow up, and more. The case studies of churches innovating and reaching uncharted territory, along with takeaway questions, are inspiring and worth every penny spent on the book!" - Tim Stevens, Vanderbloemen Search Group "Rich has done the church an epic favor by writing this book. He's a master storyteller, and he knows what he's talking about! I'm excited for you to read this valuable resource." - Derwin L. Gray, Lead Pastor Transformation Church, Author of The High Definition Leader: Leading Multiethnic Churches in a Multiethnic World "Having served as an executive pastor for nearly 12 years, I understand the temptation to mimic the success of other churches. In UNREASONABLE CHURCHES, Rich has gathered an inspiring collection of stories about leaders who are passionately pursuing the ministry God has for their church. It's an important reminder that each call is unique and radically different. I know you'll be encouraged to seek God for a better understanding of the influence of your church." - Jenni Catron, Founder of The 4Sight Group and author of The 4 Dimensions of Extraordinary Leadership SEE INSIDE FOR MORE ENDORSEMENTS

Book excerpt: “Where was God when ____? How could God allow ____? Why?” These are the questions that flood our hearts and minds when the unimaginable happens. When things go horribly wrong and the world seems to be unraveling, how do you believe in God’s goodness? How do you cling to hope? Chad Veach directs readers away from clichéd Sunday school answers that fail to offer real comfort or provide faith-building insights. Instead, he draws from God’s promises in the Bible and from the story of his own daughter’s diagnosis of a devastating and debilitating disease to reveal simple, purposeful steps for dealing with pain. Resting in God’s love, remembering his past faithfulness, and realizing the distinction between having faith and clinging to hope are just some of these steps. Veach reminds us that because we know who God is, we know there is hope.

Book The Gavel and Sickle The Supreme Court Cultural Marxism and the Assault on Christianity

Download or read book The Gavel and Sickle The Supreme Court Cultural Marxism and the Assault on Christianity written by Anthony Walsh and published by Vernon Press. This book was released on 2018-01-15 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the benefits of Christianity for all, the degradation of our culture since the 1950s, the pernicious effects that cultural Marxism has had on Western cultures, and the loss of religious freedom as the Founders envisioned it due to a number of Supreme Court rulings. We cannot understand the culture war and cultural debasement until we understand cultural Marxism. Cultural Marxism has been "hiding in plain sight" since the 1930s with the immigration to the United States of a cadre of intellectuals from Germany who brought with them the folderol of critical theory, political correctness, gender neutrality, radical feminism, and moral relativism. This intellectual moonshine is designed to weaken family structure and individual morality, and it has worked. The ultimate purpose of cultural Marxism is to destroy Western civilization from within. This goal is clearly and unambiguously stated in their books and articles. In numerous places in these books and articles, cultural Marxists are adamant that if socialism is ever to come to America the two epicenters of Western morality, the family and Christianity, will have to be destroyed by slow, stealthy, and incremental attacks on them. They have been aided in their efforts by anti-Christian rulings by the United States Supreme Court since the 1940s. I do not claim in any sense that the Supreme Court is engaged in a conspiracy with cultural Marxists. Their rulings have been based on a reading of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment that its authors would not recognize, and have used this clause to eviscerate the Free Exercise Clause—America’s “first freedom.” The Court has purged Christianity from the public square, and in doing so it has unwittingly helped the cultural Marxist agenda by spiritually disarming America.

Book Religious Schools in Europe

Download or read book Religious Schools in Europe written by Marcel Maussen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-10-02 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The European Convention on Human Rights guarantees freedom of education, including the opportunities to create and operate faith-based schools. However, as European societies become more religiously diverse and ‘less religious’ at the same time, the role of faith-based schools is increasingly being contested. Serious tensions have emerged between those who ardently support religious schools in their various forms, and those who oppose them. Given that faith-based schools enjoy basic constitutional guarantees in Europe, the controversy around them often surrounds issues of public financing, degrees of organisational and pedagogical autonomy, and educational practices and management. This volume is about the controversies surrounding religious schools in a number of Western European countries. The introductory chapter briefly analyses the structural pressures that affect the position of religious schools, outlining the relevant institutional arrangements in countries such as Denmark, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Scotland. The following chapters provide a detailed analysis of the discussions and controversies surrounding faith-based schools in each country. Finally, the two concluding chapters aim to provide a bigger, comparative picture with regard to these debates about religious education in liberal democratic states and culturally pluralist societies. This book was originally published as a special issue of Comparative Education.

Book Employment Regulation in the Workplace

Download or read book Employment Regulation in the Workplace written by Robert K Robinson and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-01-28 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook acquaints readers with the major federal statutes and regulations that control management and employment practices in the American workplace. The material is presented from the perspective that the human resource professional is the employer's representative and is, therefore, responsible for protecting the employer's interests and reducing the employer's exposure to litigation through monitoring activities and viable employee policies. The book is designed as a tool for today's business and management professionals, and unlike some other texts in the field, maintains a pro-business or pro-management approach. The authors have skilfully crafted Employment Regulation in the Workplace to be an effective learning tool. Each chapter opens with learning objectives and an example scenario, and each chapter contains plenty of illustrative figures, boxes, and diagrams. Chapters conclude with a listing of key terms, questions for discussion, and two case exercises. The book also includes a comprehensive bibliography.
