Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I used to know it all; who was bound for heaven and who would be in hell, how the contradictions in the Bible all fit together when read with guidance from the Spirit and in keeping with our church’s exact teaching. How to fix government, end war, and balance capitalism with community, what was true and what was false, how the world made sense and why it was fair. Then my sure answers became unacceptable. Now I know mostly little things; the love of family, the importance of children, the need to live in the circle of a tribe, the freedom of unknowing, the joy of being in trees and on rocks under birds in flight, the comfort of not being responsible for all things and all people, the power each moment to choose behavior that will add to the heaven or hell experienced in the present by real people, the beauty of the dance of atoms and stars bracketing the grand diversity and mysteries of life. I know One Universe which creates, knows, sustains, and is. One is enough.

Book The Scientific Proof of God

Download or read book The Scientific Proof of God written by Fredrick Swaroop Honig and published by Aviva Publishing. This book was released on 2017-03-31 with total page 142 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In his groundbreaking book, The Scientific Proof of God, Fredrick Swaroop Honig takes difficult concepts about quantum physics and the functioning of the universe, and explains them in simple language that anyone can understand. He integrates science and consciousness and shows us how this information contains the very core of our purpose on this planet. This is an inspiring read that leaves us with hope about our lives and the goodness of this world." - Marci Shimoff, #1 NY Times bestselling author of Happy for No Reason Fredrick Swaroop Honig is a visionary whose insights bridge the scientific and spiritual worlds. Swaroop was trained as a Mechanical Engineer at UC Berkeley in the '70s, and then lived as a monk for twenty years in the Ashram of the acclaimed interfaith leader Sri Swami Satchidananda. His forty years of deep meditation practice have revealed to him profound insights into the nature of the universe. In The Scientific Proof of God, Swaroop integrates into the standard model of physics the dimensions of Consciousness and Intention. He sheds light on how the universe began and illuminates the twelve principle mysteries presently unanswered in the standard model of physics. Swaroop offers a new application of Einstein's famous equation E=mc2, and how this equation when applied to the universe's dimension of consciousness becomes the Unitive Field Law of Causation. This one equation explains the cause and effect of any action as well as how the primal singularity, the seed of the universe, came into existence before the Big Bang. As a golden bridge between Science and Spirituality, this book also explains how the name of God can be used for attaining Unitive Consciousness. Through these pages, the universe will make more sense to you and you will better understand your unique part in it. We are one with Unitive Consciousness, and realizing this is the goal of life.

Book Grand Unified Theorem

Download or read book Grand Unified Theorem written by G. A. Oyibo and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: General theorem providing a mathematical basis for a grand Unified Field Theory (GUT) is presented. The proof of the theorem is shown to be a recent work entitled 'Generalised Mathematical Proof of Einstein's Theory Using a New Group Theory', which has been reviewed by the American Mathematical Society. This work provides generic solutions to the unified field, from which both the Newtonian and Einsteinian gravitational fields seem to be recoverable. Furthermore, the electromagnetic field seems to be recoverable also from these solutions. Since the investigation does not assume the existence of particles a priori, matter could therefore be interpreted as high field intensity. Therefore, nuclear force fields (strong and weak) seem to be included. The solution seems to mathematically represent the modification of space-time predicted by Einstein's general relativity theory.

Book Modern Physics and Ancient Faith

Download or read book Modern Physics and Ancient Faith written by Stephen M. Barr and published by University of Notre Dame Pess. This book was released on 2003-02-28 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A considerable amount of public debate and media print has been devoted to the “war between science and religion.” In his accessible and eminently readable new book, Stephen M. Barr demonstrates that what is really at war with religion is not science itself, but a philosophy called scientific materialism. Modern Physics and Ancient Faith argues that the great discoveries of modern physics are more compatible with the central teachings of Christianity and Judaism about God, the cosmos, and the human soul than with the atheistic viewpoint of scientific materialism. Scientific materialism grew out of scientific discoveries made from the time of Copernicus up to the beginning of the twentieth century. These discoveries led many thoughtful people to the conclusion that the universe has no cause or purpose, that the human race is an accidental by-product of blind material forces, and that the ultimate reality is matter itself. Barr contends that the revolutionary discoveries of the twentieth century run counter to this line of thought. He uses five of these discoveries—the Big Bang theory, unified field theories, anthropic coincidences, Gödel’s Theorem in mathematics, and quantum theory—to cast serious doubt on the materialist’s view of the world and to give greater credence to Judeo-Christian claims about God and the universe. Written in clear language, Barr’s rigorous and fair text explains modern physics to general readers without oversimplification. Using the insights of modern physics, he reveals that modern scientific discoveries and religious faith are deeply consonant. Anyone with an interest in science and religion will find Modern Physics and Ancient Faith invaluable.

Book God and Natural Order

Download or read book God and Natural Order written by Shaun C. Henson and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-12-04 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In God and Natural Order: Physics, Philosophy, and Theology, Shaun Henson brings a theological approach to bear on contemporary scientific and philosophical debates on the ordered or disordered nature of the universe. Henson engages arguments for a unified theory of the laws of nature, a concept with monotheistic metaphysical and theological leanings, alongside the pluralistic viewpoints set out by Nancy Cartwright and other philosophers of science, who contend that the nature of physical reality is intrinsically complex and irreducible to a single unifying theory. Drawing on the work of theologian Wolfhart Pannenberg and his conception of the Trinitarian Christian god, the author argues that a theological line of inquiry can provide a useful framework for examining controversies in physics and the philosophy of science. God and Natural Order will raise provocative questions for theologians, Pannenberg scholars, and researchers working in the intersection of science and religion.

Book What is Systematic Theology

Download or read book What is Systematic Theology written by Robert M. Doran, S.J. and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2005-11-05 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his classic work Method in Theology, Bernard Lonergan left many questions unanswered in regard to his treatment of systematics. In What Is Systematic Theology? Robert M. Doran attempts to articulate and respond to these questions. Doran begins by accepting four emphases presented by Lonergan concerning systematics: first, that its principal function is the hypothetical and analogical understanding of the mysteries of faith; second, that it should begin with those mysteries of faith that have received dogmatic status; third, that it must proceed in the 'order of teaching' rather than the 'order of discovery'; and last, that it must be explanatory rather than merely descriptive. He then addresses questions that are raised by each of these emphases. What Is Systematic Theology? is the most thorough attempt undertaken to date to advance Lonergan's program for systematics, fully in the spirit of his work but addressing issues that he left to others. Doran's idea of a core set of meanings for systematics – or a 'unified field structure' – is highly original, as is the integration of the systematic ideal and contemporary historical consciousness.

Book Unified Field Mechanics II Formulations and Empirical Tests

Download or read book Unified Field Mechanics II Formulations and Empirical Tests written by Amoroso Richard L and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2018-01-03 with total page 652 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume, recording the 10th international symposium honoring noted French mathematical physicist Jean-Pierre Vigier surveys and continues to develop Unified Field Mechanics (UFM) from the perspective of Multiverse cosmology and Topological Field Theory. UFM represents a developing paradigm shift with many new parameters extending the Standard Model to a 3rd regime of Natural Science beyond Quantum Mechanics. UFM is now experimentally testable, thus putatively able to demonstrate the existence of large-scale additional dimensionality (LSXD), test for QED violating phenomena and surmount the quantum uncertainty principle leading to a new 'Age of Discovery' paling all prior ages in the historical progression: Classical Mechanics (3D) to Quantum Mechanics (4D) and now to the birth of the 3rd regime of UFM in additional dimensionality correlating with M-Theory. Many still consider the Planck-scale as the 'basement of reality'. This could only be considered true under the limitations of the Standard Model. As we methodically enter the new regime a profound understanding of the multiverse and additional dimensionality beckons.

Book Practical Theology and the One Body of Christ

Download or read book Practical Theology and the One Body of Christ written by Thomas John Hastings and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2007-06-15 with total page 254 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Amid the ongoing acceleration of cultural interaction that accompanies globalization, it is more important than ever that practical theology be freed from cultural bias and united in a common christological understanding. In Practical Theology and the One Body of Christ Thomas John Hastings draws on decades of his own cross-cultural teaching and on current transformational models to develop a "missional-ecumenical model" of practical theology. By studying in detail the life and ministry of first-generation Japanese Protestant pastor Tamura Naomi, Hastings generates a real-life example of the practicality of his original model and offers a more global, alternative perspective on the religious education movement than what is common in Western societies.

Book A Unified Theory of God Mind Matter

Download or read book A Unified Theory of God Mind Matter written by Xavier L. Suarez and published by . This book was released on 2005-01-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the prequel to his best-seller, The DaVinci Code, Dan Brown narrates the story of a great scientist who tries to unify science with religion by replicating the first moment in natural history, known as the "Big Bang." That prequel, called Angels and Demons, is about humanity and its search for suitable answers to the source of our existence and the quandary of our destiny. This book is a non-fiction version of Angels and Demons - only without the angels or the demons. It is a serious and strictly scientific attempt to make sense of all the knowledge acquired by our species during the course of history. In particular, this book seeks to reconcile the exciting discoveries of the first part of the Twentieth Century (including relativity and the Big Bang) with the perplexing discoveries of the second half of that troubled century, when strange and paradoxical solutions were offered by science (most notably quantum physics and Heisenberg's principle of uncertainty). The conclusions of the book can be summarized by saying that it is an admittedly immodest effort to compile a "theory of everything." Weaving together the theories of humanity's quest for harmonious understanding of nature, its origins and its destiny entailed many mysteries; solving those mysteries often required advancing novel ideas. Perhaps the most creative of all is the proposition that the Big Bang produced not just space and time, but order as well. This proposition is buttressed by the latest findings in astronomy, which suggest that order came quickly to our world, as if delivered in a package, complete with ribbons and wrapping intended for our appreciation and use. Does that mean that the package was created by anomnipotent being - the god of theology? The answer to that question is not tackled until the last two chapters. The first eight tackle a more elementary question: whether our species differs from the animals merely in the sense of being a more sophisticated aggregation of organic life, as Darwin argued. That view is contrasted to one characterized as Integral Humanism, a philosophical framework which offers the opposing argument, under which humans are understood to be an unpredictable and wonderful mixture of three distinct dimensions: mind, matter and spirit.

Book The Awareness Principle

Download or read book The Awareness Principle written by Peter Wilberg and published by Exposure Publishing. This book was released on 2007 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If people get 'lost' in thought or in their emotions, in their work or chores - or in any element of their everyday activity and experience - then they may be 'conscious' but they are not aware. Awareness of the different elements of our conscious action and experience frees us from restricting attachments to them - from a confining identification of ourselves with anything we think, feel or do. This 'Awareness Principle' is both a liberatory life principle and a life practice of a sort long recognised in yogic philosophy. As well as being a healing and freeing life principle and practice, The Awareness Principle is also a new foundational principle for the sciences and religion - offering the sole possible philosophical basis for both a new Theology and a truly scientific 'Theory of Everything'. For the most fundamental scientific fact is not the objective existence of a manifest universe of bodies in space and time but awareness of that universe. In contrast to all current pseudo-scientific attempts to explain awareness or 'consciousness' however, The Awareness Principle is the recognition that awareness cannot - in principle - be explained by or reduced to any thing whatsoever that we are aware of, whether it be matter, energy or the human body and brain. Awareness is neither a by-product of our bodies and brains nor the private property of any being or beings - human or divine. What we call 'God' is neither 'Being' with a big 'B' nor some Supreme Being 'with' awareness. Instead God is awareness - and the entire universe its manifestation. And just as there can be nothing outside space or before time so there can be nothing outside or before the absolute and divine Awareness that is'God'. Neither the Big Bang of physics, the Big Being of philosophy nor a Supreme Being of the sort worshipped in the Abrahamic faiths - all expressions of 'The Being Principle' - can explain the fundamental nature of God and the Universe. The Awareness Principle can, based as it is on the recognition that: "The being of all things that exist in awareness in turn depends on awareness." (Abhinavagupta) Peter Wilberg's writings on 'The Awareness Principle', collected for the first time in this volume, reaffirm and rearticulate in a new and clear cut way a centuries-old understanding of Indian tantric philosophy - namely that the '1st Principle' of the universe is not matter or energy but the innate potentials and power (Shakti) of pure awareness (Shiva).

Book Quantum Field Theory and Gravity

Download or read book Quantum Field Theory and Gravity written by Felix Finster and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-02-08 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most challenging problems of contemporary theoretical physics is the mathematically rigorous construction of a theory which describes gravitation and the other fundamental physical interactions within a common framework. The physical ideas which grew from attempts to develop such a theory require highly advanced mathematical methods and radically new physical concepts. This book presents different approaches to a rigorous unified description of quantum fields and gravity. It contains a carefully selected cross-section of lively discussions which took place in autumn 2010 at the fifth conference "Quantum field theory and gravity - Conceptual and mathematical advances in the search for a unified framework" in Regensburg, Germany. In the tradition of the other proceedings covering this series of conferences, a special feature of this book is the exposition of a wide variety of approaches, with the intention to facilitate a comparison. The book is mainly addressed to mathematicians and physicists who are interested in fundamental questions of mathematical physics. It allows the reader to obtain a broad and up-to-date overview of a fascinating active research area.

Book Overture to Practical Theology

Download or read book Overture to Practical Theology written by Jeanne Stevenson-Moessner and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2016-11-10 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In Overture to Practical Theology, Jeanne Stevenson-Moessner takes a new route to introduce theology students and others to the field of practical theology. Although she is certainly aware of relatively recent efforts to show the academic credentials of practical theology through careful definition (citing that of David Tracy), analysis of components, and linkages to other disciplines within and without the overall framework of theology, she proceeds by means of a double analogy, rather than abstract academic precision, to illumine practical theology. Actual case studies also helpfully illumine aspects of her work." From the Foreword by James N. Lapsley. The book examines biblical foundations, historical roots, and current manifestations of social justice ministry. Stevenseon-Moessner shows how practical theology addresses racism, sexism, violence, anti-Semitism, ecological imbalance, and life at the margins of society--the vexing issues of today's ministry.

Book Toward a Theology of Scientific Endeavour

Download or read book Toward a Theology of Scientific Endeavour written by Professor Christopher B Kaiser and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2013-05-28 with total page 288 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Foundations of science are specific conditions of the cosmos, of human intelligence, of cultural beliefs, and of technological structures that make the pursuit of modern science possible. Each of the four foundations of scientific endeavour can be studied as a topic on its own. The concurrent study of all four together reveals several tensions and interconnections among them that point the way to a greater unification of faith and science. This book explores four foundations of scientific endeavour and investigates some of the paradoxes each of them raises. Kaiser shows that the resolution of these paradoxes inevitably leads us into theological discourse and raises new challenges for theological endeavour. In order to address these challenges, Kaiser draws on the wider resources of the Judeo-Christian tradition and argues for a refocusing of contemporary theology from the perspective of natural science.
