Book Understanding The Book of Revelation Layman s Words

Download or read book Understanding The Book of Revelation Layman s Words written by A. L. Springer and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2020-07-11 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To whomever may read this book: I started a study of Revelation several years ago. The reason for starting this study was to try and understand the last book of the Bible. So many had told me that Revelation was full of mysteries and difficult to understand. I searched for something that would guide me, make me think about each verse and how each passage applies to my life now and how it could in the future. My great uncle had written a book many years ago that had been passed down through my family to me. I used his book as my guide for my quest. But, as I got into the study I began writing down additional verses, thoughts and life applications. Also, trying to relate to what we know as everyday life today to what must of seemed so foreign to John. All that said this book was put together with much prayer and godly guidance to provide assistance in studying Revelation. I hope it will help someone not only understand Revelation, but prompt thoughts and discussions. Most of all I hope this book might inspire to spread the gospel before it is too late and possibly help someone find their way to Christ.

Book A Layman s Understanding Of The Book Of Revelation

Download or read book A Layman s Understanding Of The Book Of Revelation written by Alan Shinkfield and published by . This book was released on 2021-01-25 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The BOOK" Even since the beginning of my Christian life, I have been drawn to the Book Of Revelation. It may be scary and shows God as a vengeful God, but surely He proved that in the old Testament. The problem exists the future is to be perused, believed, and acted upon by all who acknowledge a creation God and His Sacrificial Son Jesus Christ. I found that the plagues to gain God's will, will be used in the Tribulation and have been used before, in Egypt and to bring the wayward Israelites back to the fold. Please accept that you belong in a world where nothing is certain, life or death, so it is your choice to read and believe or suffer the plagues that have been PROMISED in REVELATION. And May God guides your decision. AMEN Many say I found Christ, but sometimes Christ Finds You! He found me sitting in the gutter bemoaning a flat tire on the car. He sent a servant that I knew but was unaware he was a Christian. He invited me to go home shower, dress, and meet him for Church that evening. That was the start of my seventy, odd years in Christian Service. A word or two at the right time and in the right place can add years of service to the Lord Jesus Christ. What have those years enjoyed, preaching- three states, volunteer with faith organizations, founding health and pain organizations advisory to sporting and community groups, all stemming from one person's invitation. GO AND DO LIKEWISE!

Book Understanding End Times Prophecy

Download or read book Understanding End Times Prophecy written by Paul N. Benware and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2006-05-01 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Christians think of end times prophecy as a gigantic, intimidating puzzle -- difficult to piece together and impossible to figure out. But every puzzle can be solved if you approach it the right way. Paul Benware compares prophecy to a picture puzzle. Putting the edge pieces together first builds the 'framework' that makes it easier to fit the other pieces in their place. According to Benware, the framework for eschatology is the biblical covenants. He begins his comprehensive survey by explaining the major covenants. Then he discusses several different interpretations of end times prophecy. Benware digs into the details of the Rapture, the Great Tribulation, the judgements and resurrections, and the millennial kingdom. But he also adds a unique, personal element to the study, answering questions as: -Why study bible prophecy? -What difference does it make if I'm premillenial or amillenial? If what the Bible says about the future puzzles you, Understanding End Times Prophecy will help you put together the pieces and see the big picture.

Book Revelation

  • Author : Robert Reiter
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2019-05-17
  • ISBN : 1643498541
  • Pages : 342 pages

Download or read book Revelation written by Robert Reiter and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-05-17 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revelation: Written in Layman's Terms, Volume 1, covers chapters 1""19; however, chapters 4 and 5 deals with events in heaven. Chapters 6""19 deal with events on earth in detail, such as the significance of the seventy weeks and the beginning of the Tribulation period. In chapter 1:3, it states: "Blessed is he that 1) readeth, and they that 2) hear the words of this prophecy, and 3) keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand." The blessing of verse 3 has a threefold condition: 1) read the book, 2) hear (understand) it; and 3) keep (obey) it. The essential nature of prophecy was the communication of new truth (divine revelation). God has given it to be obeyed, not simply to be discussed and debated. The time is at hand in the sense that nothing else now has to occur before the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation period (1 Thess. 4:13""18), same as Rev. 4:1.

Book New Testament Interpretation

Download or read book New Testament Interpretation written by I. Howard Marshall and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2006-10-01 with total page 407 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These eighteen pieces have been commissioned to provide a succinct yet comprehensive guide to the best of recent evangelical thinking about how the New Testament is to be interpreted, so that it may speak most clearly to today's world. The need for such a handbook can be felt more keenly as on the one side a secularized world dismisses the biblical faith as outmoded, unworkable, and unsatisfying; and, on the other, numerous Christian communities, committed to taking that faith with ultimate seriousness, are driven by controversies about how to read and understand the Bible. Following the editor's introduction, in which I. Howard Marshall examines a familiar New Testament passage in order to exemplify the problems and rewards that await the careful interpreter, the essays are arranged under four headings, beginning with overviews of the history of New Testament study and the role of the interpreter's presuppositions in this enterprise; then going on to discuss the various critical tools, the methods of exegesis, and the application of the New Testament to the faith and life of the contemporary reader. An annotated bibliography concludes the presentation. Because the issues involved here have too often been ignored in many quarters, more than one approach to or opinion about a given matter may surface in these essays; yet, undergirding this diversity is the author's shared conviction, as conservative evangelicals with a high regard for the authority of Holy Scripture, that we are called upon to study the Bible with the full use of our minds. As the editor writes, The passages which we interpret must be the means through which God speaks to men and women today. Our belief in the inspiration of the Bible is thus a testimony that New Testament exegesis is not just a problem; it is a real possibility. God can and does speak to men through even the most ignorant of expositors of his Word. At the same time he calls us on to devote ourselves to his Word and use every resource to make its message the more clear.

Book A Layman s Commentary on the Book of Revelation

Download or read book A Layman s Commentary on the Book of Revelation written by Arthur Bedard and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2019-11-07 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Too many Christians today do not read the Book of Revelation because: 1. It is too difficult to understand. What you are saying is that God inspired John to write a book that you cannot understand. If that is true then why can you understand other books of the bible? Also God promises a blessing to all who read this book. 2. It is too scary to read all of the events that will happen. The only part of the book that a Christian needs to read are the first three chapters because in chapter 4 verses 1-2 Christians will be raptured to heaven and not be affected by the rest of the events. Also chapters 19 to 22 which occur after the Tribulation period (when we return with Jesus). All the rest of the book is what happens to those who did not have their names written in the Lamb's Book of Life when the Rapture happened. 3. They think that the events in the book have already happened. These people are called Preterits' and no matter that they believe that the events have already happened, they cannot explain when the events have occurred or explain the millennium or the new Temple. Ignoring the prophecies in Revelation will not stop them from happening. The Book of Revelation begins with and ends with a promised blessing to those who read it. Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. Revelation 22:7 Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.

Book Revelation

    Book Details:
  • Author : Grant R. Osborne
  • Publisher : Baker Books
  • Release : 2023-10-17
  • ISBN : 1493448447
  • Pages : 987 pages

Download or read book Revelation written by Grant R. Osborne and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2023-10-17 with total page 987 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation contains some of the most difficult passages in Scripture. Grant Osborne's commentary on Revelation interprets the text while also introducing readers to the perspectives of contemporary scholarship in a clear and accessible manner. Osborne begins with a thorough introduction to Revelation and the many difficulties involved in its interpretation. He discusses authorship, date of writing, and the social and cultural setting of the work. He also examines elements that complicate the interpretation of apocalyptic literature, including the use of symbols and figures of speech, Old Testament allusions, and the role of prophetic prediction. Osborne surveys various approaches commentators have taken on whether Revelation refers primarily to the past or to events that are yet future. Rather than exegeting the text narrowly in a verse-by-verse manner, Osborne examines larger sections in order to locate and emphasize the writer's central message and the theology found therein. Throughout, he presents his conclusions in an accessible manner. When dealing with particularly problematic sections, he considers the full range of suggested interpretations and introduces the reader to a broad spectrum of commentators. Revelation seeks to reach a broad audience with scholarly research from a decidedly evangelical perspective.
