Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This novel will take you on a fascinating journey. As you travel through the pages the world around you will become clearer, but you will perceive the world much differently than you did before you began this journey. If you enjoy thinking outside-of-the-box then you will find this novel very interesting. If you don't like thinking outside-of-the-box then this book is not for you; although it does have a fun to read storyline with mystery, comedy and romance. This novel clearly shows us that our reality is much different than what we've been taught. The book is filled with many easy to understand logical explanations that show us how our world is quite different than we previously understood. The novel begins in the year 1999 where a group of college students encounter a very strange mystery on their campus. As the students attempt to explain the cause of the mystery they begin a knowledge quest. On this quest they not only find new answers to some of life's previously unanswered questions, but their efforts also lead all of humanity into an unexpected future. To understand the strange mystery the students seek answers to many big questions such as: What is our purpose? Why are we here on this planet? What is love? Why do we get angry? Why do people go to war? Who is God? In their knowledge quest the students found answers to all of these and many other equally significant questions. Novels are fiction, but this novel contains far more fact than fiction. The storyline and the characters are fictional. The events are based on real facts supported by very sound logic and reasoning. The conclusion to this novel is in the sequel novel Undeniable Truth - The Awakening.

Book excerpt: The contents of this book can best be described as a literary collage composed of poems, prose, short commentary and narratives inspired by 65 years of experience and thought. This collection is a loosely bound chronology depicting some of the events, phases and stages that have been integral factors in my emotional, intellectual and spiritual development during my whirlwind sojourn in this world of adventure and struggle. Each entry can be thought of as a metaphysical imprint lingering in the beginningless continuum of the cosmic subconscious wilderness of Zone. I have laced this myriad of concept and perspective which is in essence no more than an overview of developmental stages with glimpses of personal moments and insight to help give a unique flavor and substance to each chapter.

Book The Jedi in the Lotus

Download or read book The Jedi in the Lotus written by Steven Rosen and published by Arktos. This book was released on 2010 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Jedi in the Lotus is the first-ever examination of the Star Wars universe from a Hindu perspective, illuminating many hitherto undiscovered aspects of the background and meaning of the widely acclaimed film series. We are shown how its creators were influenced by the famed mythologist, Joseph Campbell, whose reading of the ancient Indian Epics, the Ramayana and Mahabharata, can be seen throughout the Star Wars films. This book also demonstrates how the metaphysical understanding of the Jedi Knights and the divinity conceived of as 'the Force' have resonances with teachings passed down by Hindu gurus and mystics for centuries, and how fantastic worlds and technology similar to that of the Star Wars universe were described in myths that are millennia old - and may even have had some basis in reality. Finally, The Jedi in the Lotus shows us how the Hindu traditions at the basis of Star Wars offer an alternative vision to the purely materialistic, soulless world of modernity. Steven J. Rosen (Satyaraja Dasa) is an initiated disciple of His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He is also founding editor of the Journal of Vaishnava Studies and associate editor of Back to Godhead. He has published twenty-one books in numerous languages, including the recent Essential Hinduism (Rowman & Littlefield, 2008); The Yoga of Kirtan: Conversations on the Sacred Art of Chanting (FOLK Books, 2008); and Krishna's Other Song: A New Look at the Uddhava Gita (Praeger-Greenwood, 2010). 'In conclusion, I can only say that The Jedi in the Lotus is a breakthrough book when it comes to understanding the mythic depth of the Star Wars epics. Steven J. Rosen uses his masterful grasp of the Eastern traditions to explain the secrets of the most successful film series ever. This book also shows us why Joseph Campbell loved the wisdom tales from India, and, for those who found the Star Wars adventures memorable, this is a truly illuminating book.' - Dr. Jonathan Young, from the Foreword

Belief can blind a man to explore the depths of human psyche which is only been studied by psychologist in its periphery and leaves a lot of questions unanswered of the depths of our psyche and sub conscious mind. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I respectfully request, sir, that you devote full attention to this matter in his memory and on behalf of a city that has long forgotten his sacrifice...While I judge you not for the past sins of White Pines, I do charge you with atonement for his unsolved murder now that you are in the position of privilege to address this matter. Newly appointed White Pines, North Carolina, Police Chief William H. Parker is baffled by the mysterious death of a patrolman almost fifty years ago. George A. Hartley's body was discovered in an elevator shaft; and although reliable outside sources deemed it a homicide, local authorities consistently propagated it was accidental. His death comes to Parker's attention from a letter of a surviving son, asking him to investigate recurring rumors and harder realities long ignored by former chiefs. This letter serves as a summons to this haunted past. What Chief Parker finds is that the police department's case file no longer exists. Photographs of the crime scene are missing. Inquest records have disappeared. There is not only the question of who murdered the patrolman but also why the case was buried so deeply in the town's dark history. Based on a true story, In Summons to the Past portrays the timeless sorrow resurrected in the surviving son and the challenges of a case complicated by time. Is Chief Parker better off leaving some harder truths to the past? Will his conscience prevail in his steadfast belief that justice, even when delayed, is still justice? Through his perseverance, he is led to a surviving person of interest haunted by the murder, one obsessed with the book of Ecclesiastes now in the mid-winter of his years.

Book The Resurrection of Booger Mapes

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ...For the umpteenth time this morning, the thin man with wary eyes pours another cup of coffee and returns to his seat at the dinette table. He performs the task for something to do, just like the sip he takes from the cup, more for action than thirst. There is nothing unfamiliar about, but he studies the air before his face with intensity. His gaze moves from the checkered oilskin tablecloth to the pale light of the only kitchen window and back again. Through a deep mental fog he sees neither. He is lost in thought. The thump of frying pan on the stove top makes him jump. Rina has come into the kitchen without him even noticing, and is now bustling about the kitchen doing cooking things with a familiar ease and her peculiar habit of humming to herself when pleasantly occupied. Her back is straight, hips full and fi rm, and buttocks tightly packed into the confi nes of denim jeans. With the unnerving second sense of some women, she glances over her shoulder with a knowing smile...

Book The Reluctant Pilgrim

Download or read book The Reluctant Pilgrim written by Roger L. Welsch and published by U of Nebraska Press. This book was released on 2015 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Forty years ago, while paging through a book sent as an unexpected gift from a friend, Roger Welsch came across a curious reference to stones that were round, “like the sun and moon.” According to Tatonka-ohitka, Brave Buffalo (Sioux), these stones were sacred. “I make my request of the stones and they are my intercessors,” Brave Buffalo explained. Moments later, another friend appeared at Welsch’s door bearing yet another unusual gift: a perfectly round white stone found on top of a mesa in Colorado. So began Welsch’s lesson from stones, gifts that always presented themselves unexpectedly: during a walk, set aside in an antique store, and in the mail from complete strangers. The Reluctant Pilgrim shares a skeptic’s spiritual journey from his Lutheran upbringing to the Native sensibilities of his adoptive families in both the Omaha and Pawnee tribes. Beginning with those round stones, increasing encounters during his life prompted Welsch to confront a new way of learning and teaching as he was drawn inexorably into another world. Confronting mainstream contemporary culture’s tendency to dismiss the magical, mystical, and unexplained, Welsch shares his personal experiences and celebrates the fact that even in our scientific world, “Something Is Going On,” just beyond our ken.

Through engaging narratives and practical examples, he revitalizes Krishna’s call to action, encouraging us to dissolve our selfish desires through dedicated service to others, thereby aligning ourselves with the universal flow of creativity and fulfillment. As we navigate the complexities of modern existence, "Companion to Divine Ascension" serves as a guide to achieving higher consciousness through selfless action, embodying the spirit of Karma Yoga in every aspect of daily life. Download or read book Revealing Your Secret written by Gerard Tylor and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2017-07-13 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “It began around the age of thirty, when I noticed an almost constant dissatisfaction arising within. I had at that point, a loving family, friends, home, health, an occupation, and all the requirements of living the so-called good life. Why, I asked myself, besides the rare flashes of momentary relief and satisfaction, am I basically unhappy and experiencing some form of suffering most of the time? As I observed and questioned others around me, they too privately admitted to be unhappy and dissatisfied, which brought up a most important question: What is It that prevents the state of happiness from being self-realized? Over the years I came to understand that it is indeed possible to free and liberate yourself from what is commonly unnoticed by most, and that is your own falsely created identity that you call “self”. I came to realize that you are always- already established in unity with Being itself and can never possibly be separated from its source. Your part? Apply the way of self-realizing this eternal and ever- present relationship of Oneness with Reality itself, and surrender to its self-existing and self-radiant nature of blissful happiness as your own real and true self-state.”

Download or read book Gandhi s Dharma written by Koneru Ramakrishna Rao and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2017-09-25 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When asked about his message to the world, the Mahatma famously said, ‘My life is my message.’ In him there was no room for contradiction between thought and action. His life in its totality is a series of experiments to convert dharma, moral principles, into karma, practices in action. Gandhi believed that development is a dialectical process stemming from the antinomy of two aspects latent within every individual—the brute and the divine. While the former represents instinct-driven behaviour, the latter is one’s true self, which is altruistic. Gandhi described this process in different fields, most of which are relevant even today. Gandhi’s Dharma is an overview of Mahatma Gandhi—his person, philosophy, and practices. The author asserts that the basic principles governing Gandhi’s thoughts—satya, ahimsa, and sarvodaya—are not relics of the past. Nor are his thoughts an obsolete list of rules. Gandhi’s ideas are dynamic principles perpetually in the making, perfectly adaptable to contemporary life.
