Because of her book and willingness to educate others in the field, Dr. Bruce Cornet became involved in doing research with her and others. I subsequently conducted an eleven year field investigation in the Wallkill River Valley and Hudson River Valley (1992-2003), which included a five year, ground-based magnetic study of a 24 square mile area near Pine Bush, NY. This book documents 137 encounters with UAP/UFOs, captured on time exposures and video, which were many times witnessed by multiply people.

Book Wonders in the Sky

Download or read book Wonders in the Sky written by Jacques Vallee and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2010-10-28 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most ambitious works of paranormal investigation of our time, here is an unprecedented compendium of pre-twentieth-century UFO accounts, written with rigor and color by two of today's leading investigators of unexplained phenomena. In the past century, individuals, newspapers, and military agencies have recorded thousands of UFO incidents, giving rise to much speculation about flying saucers, visitors from other planets, and alien abductions. Yet the extraterrestrial phenomenon did not begin in the present era. Far from it. The authors of Wonders in the Sky reveal a thread of vividly rendered-and sometimes strikingly similar- reports of mysterious aerial phenomena from antiquity through the modern age. These accounts often share definite physical features- such as the heat felt and described by witnesses-that have not changed much over the centuries. Indeed, such similarities between ancient and modern sightings are the rule rather than the exception. In Wonders in the Sky, respected researchers Jacques Vallee and Chris Aubeck examine more than 500 selected reports of sightings from biblical-age antiquity through the year 1879-the point at which the Industrial Revolution deeply changed the nature of human society, and the skies began to open to airplanes, dirigibles, rockets, and other opportunities for misinterpretation represented by military prototypes. Using vivid and engaging case studies, and more than seventy-five illustrations, they reveal that unidentified flying objects have had a major impact not only on popular culture but on our history, on our religion, and on the models of the world humanity has formed from deepest antiquity. Sure to become a classic among UFO enthusiasts and other followers of unexplained phenomena, Wonders in the Sky is the most ambitious, broad-reaching, and intelligent analysis ever written on premodern aerial mysteries.

Book UFOs

  • Author : Karl Svozil
  • Publisher : Springer Nature
  • Release : 2023-08-01
  • ISBN : 3031343980
  • Pages : 317 pages

Download or read book UFOs written by Karl Svozil and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-08-01 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unidentified phenomena in space, in the Earth's atmosphere, and in waters are too important to leave their exploration to the military and scientific laypersons. Their proper scientific study is important for a variety of reasons; in particular, scientists and the public at large need to know the basic facts, to be informed about the way evidence is recorded, and to understand the difference been reliable evidence and fiction, as well as between plausible explanations and fantasy. With this objective, the book surveys the history of UFO observations, the variety of recorded phenomena, and recounts the efforts of investigative commissions and their published findings. Although wild rumors are demystified in the process, this is not an exercise in rumor-bashing. An open and at the same time critical mindset is the key. Many narratives and hypothesis appear implausible relative to our present state of knowledge; but this alone should not lead to their outright exclusion. Thus the author also pays attention to UFO sightings that have so far eluded explanation in terms of known physics or meteorology. Here the reader will encounter some of the more speculative but scientifically tenable proposals, for example, relating to sudden zigzag motion without apparent inertia or recognizable propulsion, yet always with a clear guide to their plausibility. Last but not least, the book outlines plans and suggestions for future research capable of revealing the existence and intentions of extraterrestrial intelligences, outer-space engineers, or technologies so far known only from science fiction.

Book The UFO Paradox

Download or read book The UFO Paradox written by Keith Thompson and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2024-07-16 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • Looks at witnesses’ reports as well as the theories of skeptics, revealing how UFOs represent a call from the cosmos to expand our understanding of reality • Explores UFO encounters against the backdrop of visionary experience—angelic visitations, near-death experiences, shamanic journeys, and religious miracles • Shares the author’s UFO discussions with late Harvard psychiatrist John Mack, philanthropist Laurance S. Rockefeller, and astronaut Edgar Mitchell In case after case related to UFO encounters and other unknown aerial phenomena (UAP), the same impasse is reached: testimony from witnesses on one side, dismissive responses from the authorities on the other. In the fertile void of this deadlock, however, lie extraordinary possibilities about the nature of mind and matter, spirit and soul, transforming the UFO into a celestial, metaphysical event. Focusing on the possibilities found by exploring both sides of the UFO debate, veteran UFO observer and reporter Keith Thompson shares profound insights and experiences from his several decades of research, revealing that the UFO phenomenon is decidedly real yet perhaps not what either side of the debate expects. He looks at UFOs as a genuine unknown, from outer space or manifesting from hidden dimensions, as well as the theories of skeptics and debunkers who insist that UFOs can be explained as hoaxes, hallucinations, or misidentified phenomena. He explores the modern flying saucer era against the backdrop of visionary experience—angelic visitations, near-death experiences, shamanic journeys, religious miracles, and fairy tales—and shows how UFOs are simultaneously physical and spiritual, presenting a form of intelligence capable of altering the perceptions of witnesses. Chronicling his own investigations into the UFO mystery, the author details how he introduced the late Harvard psychiatrist John Mack to accounts of alien abduction and how he was invited by philanthropist Laurance S. Rockefeller to lobby then-president Bill Clinton to disclose government-held UFO information. Sharing stories from his friendship with astronaut Edgar D. Mitchell, among others, the author recounts discussions on how best to interpret UFOs and non-ordinary phenomena of various kinds. Thompson reveals how the UFO phenomenon ultimately represents a call from the cosmos for humanity to open to greater dimensions of reality and recognize that our understanding of the universe is still far from complete.

Book UFOs of the First World War

Download or read book UFOs of the First World War written by Nigel Watson and published by The History Press. This book was released on 2015-01-05 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lieutenant R.S. Maxwell took off in his BE2C fighter but saw nothing unusual until 8.25 p.m. when, according to his report: 'My engine was missing irregularly and it was only by keeping the speed of the machine down to 50 mph that I was able to stay at 10,000 feet. I distinctly saw an artificial light to the north of me, and at about the same height. I followed this light northeast for nearly 20 minutes, but it seemed to go slightly higher and just as quickly as myself, and eventually I lost it completely in the clouds.' Such sightings occurred frequently during the war. The reasons are fascinating in themselves: the first is that aviation is in its infancy, so light phenomena at altitude are a new experience. The second is fear: for the first time a real threat came from the skies. It wasn't just the Western Front: on 21 August 1915 twenty New Zealand soldiers allegedly saw eight bread-loaf shaped clouds over Hill 60, Suvla Bay. 'A British regiment, the First- Fourth Norfolk, of several hundred men, was then noticed marching . . . towards Hill 60.' They marched into the cloud, which lifted off the ground, and were never seen again.

The study covers over fifty years of incidents, many with radar confirmation and quotes from the pilots themselves. The volume is written in a clear, sober style that gives priority to the witnesses, with little editorial commentary from the authors themselves." -- Jacques Vallee, scientist and pioneering ufologist "The authors have captured something of the excitement that comes from researching pilot and air traffic controller sightings of unusually strange aerial phenomena. And they have collected and analyzed over fifty years of encounters with unidentified aerial phenomena in Mexico's airspace." -- Dr. Richard F. Haines, Chief Scientist, National Aviation Reporting Center on Anomalous Phenomena (NARCAP) Authors Carlos Guzman and Alfonso Salazar are two of Mexico's most experienced and highly-regarded UFO researchers. For decades, they have quietly conducted exhaustive research into their country's most remarkable UFO cases, especially encounters involving aviation. The authors have appeared in major UFO-related documentaries on the History Channel, Discovery Channel, Infinito, and other media outlets. They have also spoken about UFOs on numerous radio programs, as well as at many conferences. Guzman and Salazar's book "Ovnis y la Aviacion Mexicana," of which this is the revised, updated English translation, is considered a classic work in UFO research literature and has received unbounded praise from the UFO research community throughout the world.

Book REDEMPTION OF THE DAMNED VOL 1 AERIAL PHENOMENA

Download or read book REDEMPTION OF THE DAMNED VOL 1 AERIAL PHENOMENA written by Martin Shough and published by Anomalist Books, LLC. This book was released on 2019-06-28 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: UNRAVELLING AERIAL MYSTERIES OF THE PAST Charles Fort published his first and most influential book, The Book of the Damned, a century ago in 1919, collecting together many historical reports of strange aerial phenomena. Since the birth of the UFO controversy in 1947 Fort’s writings have been cited in countless books and web pages. Yet this is the first time in a hundred years that researchers have systematically verified the sources and content of every one of these oft-recycled stories, correcting many errors, placing each case in its historical context, and submitting it to a careful scientific investigation in an attempt to find a conventional answer. What were these reported phenomena? Is it possible to find non-exotic explanations? With the advantage of modern knowledge, methods, and resources, in most cases the answer proves to be yes. Some of the solutions found may shock the general reader and surprise even specialists. Yet in the end a few well-documented events remain unexplained.

Book Unconventional Flying Objects

Download or read book Unconventional Flying Objects written by Hill, Paul R. and published by Hampton Roads Publishing. This book was released on 2014-06-01 with total page 434 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paul Hill was a well-respected NASA scientist when, in the early 1950s, he had a UFO sighting. Soon after, he built the first flying platform and was able to duplicate the UFO's tilt-to-control maneuvers. Official policy, however, prevented him from proclaiming his findings. "I was destined," says Hill, "to be as unidentified as the flying objects." For the next twenty-five years, Hill acted as an unofficial clearinghouse at NASA, collecting and analyzing sightings' reports for physical properties, propulsion possibilities, dynamics, etc. To refute claims that UFOs defy the laws of physics, he had to make "technological sense... of the unconventional object." After his retirement from NASA, Hill finally completed his remarkable analysis. This book, published posthumously, presents his findings that UFOs "obey, not defy, the laws of physics." Vindicating his own sighting and thousands of others, he proves that UFO technology is not only explainable, but attainable.

Book Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and National Security

Download or read book Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and National Security written by J. Brian Huffling and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This work examines the question: "Are Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) a threat to national security?" The Air Force has had a long history with UAPs or UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects). Using an evaluative framework, this paper will provide a brief history of the UAP issue from 1947 to 2022, focusing on the sightings since Kenneth Arnold that led to the various Air Force projects, culminating in the famous Project Blue Book. Other historical events are examined from the close of Blue Book to the most recent issues of the various Navy encounters of UAPs that were released by the Department of Defense, as well as the 2021 "Preliminary Assessment" from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and the 2022 Congressional Hearing on UAPs. Various theories of UAP are examined and evaluated for their merits, such as the skeptical position, the possibility of UAP being US or foreign adversary technology, the extraterrestrial hypothesis, the interdimensional hypothesis, and the extradimensional hypothesis. The work follows with a conclusion with recommendations for further study on the issue which includes a discussion on standardizing reporting, destigmatizing the issue, providing education and awareness, and centralizing the reporting agency."--Abstract.
