Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Warning: This is not a typical, sappy love story. This is an all-consuming, soul-crushing, tear-your-heart-into-pieces story. It's intense, gritty and raw, dark and disturbing, and it doesn't happen overnight. This is an epic love story that knows no boundaries and has no time limits. It grows and develops-with hurt, sacrifice, and heartache-over the span of a lifetime. Eva Fox is the princess of the Silver Demons Motorcycle Club. Growing up with bikers in the club lifestyle is all that she knows. When she's a young girl, Eva meets the reason for her existence. Deuce West is the sexy, biker bad-ass of the Hell's Horsemen Motorcycle Club. Like Eva, he was born and raised in the club-but that's where the similarities end. Their first meeting is innocent, but as Eva matures into a woman, their chance reunions evolve into a fit of lust and love. Fate continues to bring them together time and time again, but their twisted journey is filled with pain, betrayal, and bloodshed that could tear them apart. Eva sees in Deuce what he cannot see in himself-a man worthy of love-and Eva spends her lifetime proving to him that her undeniable love is the one thing he can't live without. This is Eva and Deuce's story. It wasn't easy. Nothing worth doing ever is.And love is worth everything

Book Latin American Poetry

Download or read book Latin American Poetry written by Gordon Brotherston and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1975-11-13 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study considers the ways Spanish American and Brazilian poets differ from their European counterparts by considering 'Latin American' as more than a perfunctory epithet. It sets the orthodox Latin tradition of the subcontinent against others that have survived or grown up after the conquest then pays attention to those poets who, from Independence, have striven to express a specifically American moral and geographical identity. Dr Brotherson focuses on Modernismo, or the 'coming of age' of poetry in Spanish America and Brazil, and the importance of the movements associated with it. He considers César Vallejo and Pablo Neruda, probably the greatest of the selection, Octavio Paz, and modern poets who have reacted differently to the idea that Latin America might now be thought to have not just a geographical but a nascent political identity of its own. Poems are liberally quoted, and treated as entities in their own right.

Book The Garden Without Walls

Download or read book The Garden Without Walls written by Coningsby Dawson and published by Good Press. This book was released on 2021-05-20 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Garden Without Walls explores the story of a reserved young man, Dante Cardover, and his struggles to find true love. Dante was brought up with a Puritan mindset. Early in life, he lost his mother and rarely communicated with his distant father. The author presents Dante as a shy, introverted man who suppressed his feelings to the extent that it kept him from finding love. As the story moves forward, three entirely distinct women offer him different kinds of love. Ruthita is his childhood friend. Fiesole is a great flirt with profound ideals of her own. Vi Carpenter is Dante's soulmate, but a barrier exists between them. The author did an excellent job giving all the women independence and not making them appear merely for Cardover to pick and choose. The book beautifully delivers a take on the wisdom and misunderstandings of youth. It covers various events in Dante's life, including his school days to his days at Oxford, his relationship with his father, and his encounters with women. It is an incredibly written story with a delightful plot and unique characters that will please the reader of any kind.

Book The Humor of Kierkegaard

Download or read book The Humor of Kierkegaard written by Søren Kierkegaard and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2004-07-26 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who might reasonably be nominated as the funniest philosopher of all time? With this anthology, Thomas Oden provisionally declares Søren Aabye Kierkegaard (1813-1855) -- despite his reputation as the melancholy, despairing Dane -- as, among philosophers, the most amusing. Kierkegaard not only explored comic perception to its depths but also practiced the art of comedy as astutely as any writer of his time. This collection shows how his theory of comedy is integrated into his practice of comic perception, and how both are integral to his entire authorship. "The Humor of Kierkegaard" is for anyone ready to be amused by human follies. Those new to Kierkegaard will discover a dazzling mind worth meeting. Those already familiar with his theory of comedy will be delighted to see it concisely set forth and exemplified. -- From publisher's description.

Traveling through the provinces, cities, and remote country towns that make up France, Waverley Root discovers not only the Calvados and Camembert cheese of Normandy, the haute cuisine of Paris, and the hearty bouillabaisse of Marseilles, but also the local histories, customs, and geographies that shape the French national character. Here are the origins of the Plantagenet kings and Rabelais’s favorite truffle-flavored sausages, and the tale of how the kitchens of Versailles cooked for one thousand aristocrats and four thousand servants in a single day. Here, too, are notes on the proper time of year to harvest snails; the Moorish influences on the confections of the Pyrenees, where the plumpest geese are raised; and the age of the oldest olive tree in Provence. In short, here is France for the chef, the traveler, and the connoisseur of fine prose, with maps and line drawings throughout.
