Book Water R718 Turbo Compressor and Ejector Refrigeration Heat Pump Technology

Download or read book Water R718 Turbo Compressor and Ejector Refrigeration Heat Pump Technology written by Milan N. Šarevski and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2016-02-03 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Water (R718) Turbo Compressor and Ejector Refrigeration/Heat Pump Technology provides the latest information on efficiency improvements, a main topic in recent investigations of thermal energy machines, plants, and systems that include turbo compressors, ejectors, and refrigeration/heat pump systems. This, when coupled with environmental concerns, has led to the application of eco-friendly refrigerants and to a renewed interest in natural refrigerants. Within this context, readers will find valuable information that explores refrigeration and heat pump systems using natural refrigerants, polygeneration systems, the energy efficiency of thermal systems, the utilization of low temperature waste heat, and cleaner production. The book also examines the technical, economic, and environmental reasons of R718 refrigeration/heat pump systems and how they are competitive with traditional systems, serving as a valuable reference for engineers who work in the design and construction of thermal plants and systems, and those who wish to specialize in the use of R718 as a refrigerant in these systems. - Describes existing novel R718 turbo compressor and ejector refrigeration/heat pump systems and technologies - Provides procedures calculating and optimizing cycles, system components, and system structures - Estimates the performance characteristics of the thermal systems - Exposes the possibilities for wider applications of R718 systems in the field of refrigeration and heat pumps

Book Contribution to the Theory of Two phase One component Critical Flow

Download or read book Contribution to the Theory of Two phase One component Critical Flow written by Hans K. Fauske and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Equipment was built where critical-flow data above 100 psia were obtained and a theory developed that predicts the experimental values satisfactorily. Theoretical expressions for the specific volume, void fraction, and slip ratio for critical steam-water mixtures have been derived. Therefore, the first complete analytical solution was made possible for estimating the critical two-phase flow rate, including slip between the two phases. The pressure profiles for runs at critical flow were all characterized by extremely steep pressure gradients near the throat; however, the pressure gradients are definitely finite and approach absolute maximum values, these depending only upon critical flow rate and quality. Sonic velocities are not achieved in critical two-phase flow of steam-water mixtures.
