Book Walking in Two Worlds

Download or read book Walking in Two Worlds written by Laura Dale and published by FriesenPress. This book was released on 2019-11-05 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Walking in Two Worlds is a fascinating, authentic account of an individual’s encounters with the unexplained. Here is a collection of journal entries—spanning many years—that recount the author’s dreams, telepathic events, out-of-body experiences, visions, and spiritual encounters. Also depicted are occurrences of clairaudience, claircognizance, divination, precognition, psychometry, second sight, and many other mysteries of being alive. The author enhances her accounts with interpretations of the messages she believes these incidents contain. Her personal work is well supported by references to expert sources, photos, and excerpts from outside publications. Walking in Two Worlds is a standout for its authentic interest in connecting a community of psychics. “I quickly realized it wasn’t about me at all,” the author says. “It’s about shining a light into someone else’s darkness.”

Book Two Worlds of International Relations

Download or read book Two Worlds of International Relations written by Pamela Beshoff and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2005-08-02 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aims of this book are to discover how significant academic work in international relations has become for practitioners involved in policy formulation and implementation, and to examine the impact of the policy community on academic work and academic values. On the academic side, theoretical, historical and political economy perspectives are presented. On the practitioner side, there are contributions from diplomats, lawyers and parliamentarians. The principal question at issue is whether, if there is a natural partnership between the modern academic and foreign policy makers, there needs to be preserved a respectful distance between the two worlds.

Book excerpt: This unique collection of diaries and letters offers a vivid personal account of the experiences of a Jewish couple living parallel lives during the Second World War. While their children left for England just before war broke out, and Siegfried soon followed, Else Behrend was unable to obtain her visa in time, and remained in Germany. This volume includes Else's account of her years of persecution under the Nazi dictatorship, and of her life underground in Berlin, before her eventual daring escape to Switzerland on foot in 1944. Her dramatic story is presented alongside Siegfried's account of his very different experience, living penniless and in isolation in England, as well as some of her letters to her close friend and confidante, Eva. Complemented by QR codes that allow readers to listen to Else's own voice from her 1963 BBC interviews. Published in English for the first time, Living in Two Worlds offers an unforgettable and moving insight into the impact of the Second World War on everyday life.

Book A Romance of Two Worlds

Download or read book A Romance of Two Worlds written by Marie Corelli and published by . This book was released on 1898 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "A Romance of Two Worlds starts with a young heroine, in first person, telling her story of a debilitating illness that includes depression and thoughts of suicide. Her doctor is unable to help her and sends her off on a holiday where she meets a mystical character by the name of Raffello Cellini, a famous Italian artist. Cellini offers her a strange potion which immediately puts her into a tranquil slumber, in which she experiences divine visions. Upon wakening, she craves more. Later, she meets her unnamed guardian angel, who whisks her through infinite solar systems faster than a shooting star while human spirits fly by like gossamer silk. He shares the truth of religion and the secret of human destiny, but still she longs for more. She comes to understand God as pure light and pure love, but it is not enough that she should see and hear these things from the touch of an angel. She wants to master this ability on her own and seeks a oneness with God through a series of meditative disciplines while locked away in a monastery."--Wikipedia.

Book excerpt: Is it Fiction? Is it reality? these are the questions that will trouble the reader. I am not at all surprise with the setting of the story or the premise the writer took. Ms Correlli lived in an age where the advent of the mystics, eastern meditation and the seed of the so called New Age was in the ascendancy. I enjoyed the book thoroughly as it brings to light most of the seed form thoughts in the Jewish faith.

Book New Understandings of Twin Relationships

Download or read book New Understandings of Twin Relationships written by Barbara Klein and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-12-23 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: New Understandings of Twin Relationships takes an experience-based approach to exploring how twin attachment and estrangement are critical to understanding the push and pull of closely entwined personal relationships. Based on the research expertise of each of the authors (all identical twins in their own right), and vignettes from twins across the globe, this book describes the inner workings of the twin-world, showing how the twin-world creates experiences that are often more intense and intricately textured than those in the singleton-world. Chapters debunk myths surrounding twinship and analyze the developmental stages of the twin relationship as well as the effect of being a twin on one’s mental health from different perspectives. The authors articulate how attachment, separation anxiety, loneliness, estrangement, and the subjective experience of the twin and non-twin "other" impact behavior, thinking, and feeling. Through its careful study of the many psychological challenges that twins face throughout their lifetime, this text will help psychologists, scholars, clinicians, and twins themselves attain a deeper understanding of all interpersonal relationships.
