Book Instruction Design for Microcomputing Software

Download or read book Instruction Design for Microcomputing Software written by David Jonassen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-04-03 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Selected as one of the outstanding instructional development books in 1989 by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, this volume presents research in instructional design theory as it applies to microcomputer courseware. It includes recommendations -- made by a distinguished group of instructional designers -- for creating courseware to suit the interactive nature of today's technology. Principles of instructional design are offered as a solid base from which to develop more effective programs for this new method of teaching -- and learning.

Book Microprocessors and Microcomputer Development Systems

This book was released on 1983-08 with total page 679 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mohamed Rafiquzzaman's comprehensive new text is a guide to today's hardware and software development aids - the 8, 16, and 32-bit microprocessors, support chips, and microcomputer development systems that have become essential tools for scientists and engineers. Combining theory and applications, the book provides readers with techniques needed to design and develop hardware and software for microcomputer-based applications.

Book Microprocessors and Microcomputer Based System Design

Download or read book Microprocessors and Microcomputer Based System Design written by Mohamed Rafiquzzaman and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-11-01 with total page 793 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microprocessors and Microcomputer-Based System Design, Second Edition, builds on the concepts of the first edition. It discusses the basics of microprocessors, various 32-bit microprocessors, the 8085 microprocessor, the fundamentals of peripheral interfacing, and Intel and Motorola microprocessors. This edition includes new topics such as floating-point arithmetic, Program Array Logic, and flash memories. It covers the popular Intel 80486/80960 and Motorola 68040 as well as the Pentium and PowerPC microprocessors. The final chapter presents system design concepts, applying the design principles covered in previous chapters to sample problems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computers these days spend a fairly low fraction of their time computing. In fact, the very word "computer" has become something of a misnomer. In the American History museum of the Smithsonian Institute in Wash ington, D.C., there is an exhibit of early computers. Three features of these machines are striking. First, they are enormous, especially in com parison to their capabilities. The museum visitor who has just come from the Natural History building next door may be reminded of fossilized di nosaur bones. Second, they don't look at all like modern computing ma chines. The cases are made of crude metal or beautifully worked wood, recalling an approach to the design of scientific apparatus which belongs to a previous generation. Lastly, the function of these machines is mainly to compute-to perform rapid arithmetic. The computer of today bears little resemblance in size, form, or function to its ancestors. It is, most obviously, smaller by several orders of mag nitude. Its form has changed from the carefully crafted one-of-a-kind in strument to the mass-produced microchip. But the change in its function is perhaps the most dramatic of all. Instead of being a computing engine, it is a machine for the processing of information. The word "processor" has come into common usage. A processor used to be a central processing unit-a set of wires and vacuum tubes, or later a set of printed circuit boards-which was nestled deep within the computer. Today a processor is an off-the-shelf component.

Book Design of Computers and Other Complex Digital Devices

Download or read book Design of Computers and Other Complex Digital Devices written by Sunggu Lee and published by Pearson Education. This book was released on 2000 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Uniquely, this advanced digital logic design textbook has as its design target an actual commercial 8-bit processor, the Intel 8080, serving as an extended example of the effective use of VHDL (a hardware description language), EPG As (field programmable gate arrays), and the ASM (Algorithmic State Machine) method to achieve this end. Part I provides a refresher course in basic digital logic design. Part II examines the use of programmable logic devices, hardware description languages, and the ASM method for implementation of general algorithms in hardware. Part III details the microprocessor's design and implementation specifications. Appends an overview of the Intel 8080 instruction set, and suggested lab projects for junior and senior-level students in electrical and computer engineering.
