Book excerpt: L'effet photo réfractif permet de réaliser de nombreuses opérations dans le domaine du traitement optique. Les semi-conducteurs sont des matériaux photo réfractifs qui possèdent de grandes mobilités et pour lesquels le temps d'établissement de cet effet devrait être très court. Nous avons réalisé une étude tant expérimentale que théorique du mélange à deux ondes dans InP:Fe et GaAs:Cr en régime d'excitation nanoseconde. Nous avons tout d'abord mis en évidence un transfert d'énergie du a l'effet photo réfractif dans ces deux cristaux. De plus un second effet, absorption non linéaire, se superpose à l'effet photo réfractif dans le cristal d'InP:Fe. Les deux phénomènes peuvent être isoles en utilisant les symétries de l'effet photo réfractif. Nous présentons une analyse complète de ces deux effets non linéaires. Pour le couplage d'onde photo réfractif, deux types de porteurs de charges sont impliqués dans le modelé de transport de charge. Ces porteurs (électrons et trous) sont photo excites à partir d'un seul piège profond (fe2+/fe3+ ou Cr2+/Cr3+). L'absorption non linéaire ou absorption non linéaire ou absorption induite résulte de la redistribution des charges dans les différents niveaux du fer. Des simulations numériques décrivent d'une part l'évolution temporelle et la dépendance en énergie nous donnent quelques paramètres des cristaux.
