Book Informatics in Control Automation and Robotics 12th International Conference ICINCO 2015 Colmar France July 21 23 2015 Revised Selected Papers

Download or read book Informatics in Control Automation and Robotics 12th International Conference ICINCO 2015 Colmar France July 21 23 2015 Revised Selected Papers written by Joaquim Filipe and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-05-14 with total page 413 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present book includes a set of selected extended papers from the 12th International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO 2015), held in Colmar, France, from 21 to 23 July 2015. The conference brought together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the application of informatics to Control, Automation and Robotics. Four simultaneous tracks will be held, covering Intelligent Control Systems, Optimization, Robotics, Automation, Signal Processing, Sensors, Systems Modelling and Control, and Industrial Engineering, Production and Management. Informatics applications are pervasive in many areas of Control, Automation and Robotics. ICINCO 2015 received 214 submissions, from 42 countries, in all continents. After a double blind paper review performed by the Program Committee, 14% were accepted as full papers and thus selected for oral presentation. Additional papers were accepted as short papers and posters. A further selection was made after the Conference, based also on the assessment of presentation quality and audience interest, so that this book includes the extended and revised versions of the very best papers of ICINCO 2015. Commitment to high quality standards is a major concern of ICINCO that will be maintained in the next editions, considering not only the stringent paper acceptance ratios but also the quality of the program committee, keynote lectures, participation level and logistics.

Download or read book Concurrent Reactive Plans written by Michael Beetz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2000-03-08 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, the author presents a new computational model of forestalling common flaws in autonomous robot behavior. To this end, robots are equipped with structured reactive plans (SRPs) which are concurrent control programs that can not only be interpreted but also be reasoned about and manipulated. The author develops a representation for SRPs in which declarative statements for goals, perceptions, and beliefs make the structure and purpose of SRPs explicit and thereby simplify and speed up reasoning about SRPs and their projections; furthermore a notation is introduced allowing for transforming and manipulating SRPs. Using this notation, a planning system can diagnose and forestall common flaws in robot plans that cannot be dealt with in other planning representations. Finally the language for writing SRPs is extended into a high-level language that can handle both planning and execution actions.

Book Concepts in Abstract Algebra

Download or read book Concepts in Abstract Algebra written by Charles Lanski and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on with total page 564 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The style and structure of CONCEPTS IN ABSTRACT ALGEBRA is designed to help students learn the core concepts and associated techniques in algebra deeply and well. Providing a fuller and richer account of material than time allows in a lecture, this text presents interesting examples of sufficient complexity so that students can see the concepts and results used in a nontrivial setting. Author Charles Lanski gives students the opportunity to practice by offering many exercises that require the use and synthesis of the techniques and results. Both readable and mathematically interesting, the text also helps students learn the art of constructing mathematical arguments. Overall, students discover how mathematics proceeds and how to use techniques that mathematicians actually employ. This book is included in the Brooks/Cole Series in Advanced Mathematics (Series Editor: Paul Sally, Jr.).

Book Advances in Knowledge Based and Intelligent Information and Engineering Systems

Download or read book Advances in Knowledge Based and Intelligent Information and Engineering Systems written by Manuel Graña and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 2307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this 2012 edition of Advances in Knowledge-Based and Intelligent Information and Engineering Systems the latest innovations and advances in Intelligent Systems and related areas are presented by leading experts from all over the world. The 228 papers that are included cover a wide range of topics. One emphasis is on Information Processing, which has become a pervasive phenomenon in our civilization. While the majority of Information Processing is becoming intelligent in a very broad sense, major research in Semantics, Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Engineering supports the domain specific applications that are becoming more and more present in our everyday living. Ontologies play a major role in the development of Knowledge Engineering in various domains, from Semantic Web down to the design of specific Decision Support Systems. Research on Ontologies and their applications is a highly active front of current Computational Intelligence science that is addressed here. Other subjects in this volume are modern Machine Learning, Lattice Computing and Mathematical Morphology. The wide scope and high quality of these contributions clearly show that knowledge engineering is a continuous living and evolving set of technologies aimed at improving the design and understanding of systems and their relations with humans.
