Download or read book Truth Seeker Bible Topics written by Warren M. Mueller and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2013-04-02 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Author Warren Mueller has read the Bible daily since 1979. He has served as a deacon, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Gideons International. With Truth Seeker: Bible Topics, he hopes to provide clarity regarding what the Bible says about many popular subjects in a succinct and objective format. Truth Seeker: Bible Topics offers a concise summary of what the Bible says about over thirty practical living and theological topics and includes many Bible quotes to provide additional information on each topic. There are questions at the end of each chapter that can help to facilitate Sunday school class or small group discussions. This helpful guide covers a wide variety of topics, including angels, abortion, eating and drinking, gambling, heaven, money, spiritual gifts, swearing, and worry. Much of the controversy that surrounds the interpretations of what the Bible says stem from a lack of systematic study, the use of verses out of context, or attempts to extrapolate truth beyond what is clearly stated. In order to avoid these pitfalls and determine a fair interpretation, Warren Mueller attempts to explain some of the truths of the Bible that are relevant to our human nature, thoughts, and purposes today.

Book excerpt: TRUTH SEEKER: BIBLE TOPICS is for everyone who has ever wondered ¿What does the Bible really say about¿¿ It is a concise and objective summary of many practical, daily living and theological topics supported by numerous quotes. You will be surprised by some of the popular religious ideas that are not found in the Bible. A basic premise of this book is that the Bible contains truths that can be discerned by systematic study and by following a few rules which are described by the author. A theological degree is not necessary to understand the Bible. In this country, Bibles are plentiful but generally are not read or systematically studied. People tend to follow what they are told or approach the Bible looking for support for their views rather than seeking truth holistically. This book uses abundant quotes from the Bible to support each subject discussed. In this way, the reader can readily discern for themselves the truths that are described.

Book excerpt: In recent years, there have been a number of popular books that have questioned who Jesus was. Was he a Zealot, Messiah, misunderstood prophet or someone who was mythologized by the Roman Church to gain power and influence? This book explores these and many other objections to traditional Christian views as a dialogue between a father and son who hold polar opposite beliefs about Jesus, his message and his mission.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Was Jesus a Zealot? Has the tomb of Jesus been discovered? Was Christianity an outgrowth of Mystery Religions? What is the relationship between Christianity and the Essenes or Gnostics? Did the Catholic Church create a Bible that is different from apostolic writings? These are some of the questions that have surfaced in recent years and that are discussed in this book. Warren's father was a deep thinker, a voracious reader and seeker after historical truths. He adopted many ideas that challenged traditional Christian views. He believed that religious and political institutions have altered history to reflect their views. While this is true to an extent, there are many solid facts upon which Christianity is founded that support the divinity of Jesus and his redemptive work on the cross. This book continues a dialogue between Warren and his father that spanned more than thirty years and began with Warren's book: "Truth Seeker: Objections to the Bible." This book is for those who have questions and problems with aspects of the Bible. It also debunks the ancient alien theory for the creation of mankind.

Book Truth Seeker Mormon Scriptures the Bible

Download or read book Truth Seeker Mormon Scriptures the Bible written by Warren M Mueller and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2014-02-10 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are Mormons Christians? What do they believe? How do their beliefs compare with other Christian religions? I have been impressed by the dedication of Mormon missionaries, the beauty of the Mormon Tablernacle Choir and the majestic architecture of Mormon temples. I have known several Mormons and they seem to be family oriented people who live out their faith in tangilble ways. As American culture drifts towards situation ethics and values based on surveys, Mormons are like other Christians in that they tend to be conservative and look to their Church and Scriptures for guidance. This interest and curiosity led me to study Mormon scriptures and compare them with the Bible. Each chapter of Truth Seeker: Mormon Scriptures & The Bible is a summary of each of the books that make up The Book Of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price and Doctrines & Covenants. This is followed by a discussion of internal inconsistencies, differences from the Bible and historical problems. In order to provide a balanced discussion, the views of a devout Mormon, Dr. Jordan Jensen, are included. Brigham Young University and Latter-day Saint (LDS) web sites were used to answer questions I still had after completing my review and to fill in gaps in my understanding of some doctrines and beliefs. The result of these efforts is a book that provides insights into Mormonism and how it compares and deviates from other Christian churches. The essence of the deviations are founded in the idea that Mormonism extends, clarifies and sometimes replaces Biblical teachings based on revelations given to Joseph Smith and subsequent LDS prophets.

Download or read book The Truth Seeker s Guide to Proving the Father Proving the Son and Applying the Holy Spirit written by Hans Christopher Wahl and published by Cross Books Pub. This book was released on 2012 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Truth-Seeker’s Guide to Proving the Father, Proving the Son, and Applying the Holy Spirit presents the stark contrast between biblical and secular worldviews. It illustrates the differing views on science, ancient history, and modern-day world events produced by these two perspectives. Regardless of the worldview you currently possess, the information presented here promises to provide much to contemplate. This thorough guide covers a wealth of information, from biology to archaeology, from ancient history to modern-day international crises, from astronomy to the fossil record, from Bible prophecy to globalization, from natural disasters to cults, from Darwin to religion, and much, much more. By analyzing such a wide range of issues, author Hans Christopher Wahl hopes to make obvious the differences between a biblical-lens worldview and a secular-lens worldview. This guide is presented in three sections. Section I presents the evidence of God’s existence; Section II presents evidence that both Jesus Christ and the Bible are God’s truth; and Section III builds upon these truths by applying God’s biblical Word to past and present world events, illuminating a biblical-lens perspective of the world. The Truth-Seeker’s Guide presents evidence, knowledge, and analysis that allow the humble truth-seeker to understand the world through a biblical-lens perspective and to recognize and accept God’s existence, Jesus Christ’s supremacy, and the Bible’s accuracy.
