There is a large shortage of manpower within the sector, whether for home care or care homes. The book, which is taken from diary entries, is an attempt to encourage more people to join the care sector. The diary entries include sad, heart-breaking, but humorous and enlightening situations. It recalls memories of the authors past and relates how a change in his life taught him humility and understanding. He also learned how to bring hope to the desperate and show that others cared about their problems.

Book Commodification of Sexual Labor

Download or read book Commodification of Sexual Labor written by Jeffrey R. Young and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2016-01-01 with total page 263 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most feminists agree that successful prostitution reform requires that prostitutes be respected by their clients, peers, and the community. Although respect is not the only criterion necessary for acceptable reform, many feminists believe that the absence of stigma would be a sufficiently fundamental improvement to merit the reconsideration of policies that severely restrict prostitution. The aim of this study is to show that certain online prostitution venues contribute to acceptable prostitution reform by fostering trust and respect between the participants. My hypothesis is that when commercial sex is conducted in an open atmosphere of respect and mutual understanding, within certain economic parameters, beliefs and practices that stigmatize prostitutes and prostitution are potentially neutralized. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide evidence that prostitution can be facilitated online with trust and respect, identify the social and economic variables that contribute to these attitudes, and explain this phenomenon with a useful social science model. This study identifies a non-legal enforcement mechanism to facilitate cooperative exchanges based on establishing trust between participants. At the center of the cooperation system is a reputation mechanism that fosters trust between potential partners by encouraging participants to post honest reviews of their encounters with each other. Understanding the social order as a cooperation game where participants publicly signal each other in an attempt to find the most desirable partners explains the mutual trust and respect that participants have for each other. Because stigma and disrespect are founded on mistrust, this cooperation mechanism is effective in minimizing undesirable attitudes, beliefs, and practices that stigmatize and oppress prostitutes. This study suggests that prostitution reform acceptable to many feminists is possible. But in order for meaningful reform to work in practice, it must be accompanied by regulations carefully designed to protect the sexual autonomy of women without stigmatizing prostitutes.

Book excerpt: One foot in both worlds, welcome in neither. Fathered by the most hated man in the shifter world, Griffin is considered a half-breed and is welcome by neither the shifters nor one-forms. When he’s captured by the Alliance, he has the choice of remaining loyal to blood, despite loathing everything they represent, or helping the shifters and earning the chance of a life. All of his plans change when the animal his family suppressed for decades decides it’s time to take over and there is no going back to how Griffin was. Blaise is a mutt in her community. A mixed breed shifter marked by a darker skin pigmentation for all to plainly see. Having a family and happily ever after has never been part of her plans, and she made sure it could never happen. She survived her cruel childhood and is content with her adult life. The only thing she lives for is her job. As part of the Alliance’s Special Operations team, she spends her time on the road enforcing laws for her kind and bringing justice to those who break them. Her every moment for the last year has been bringing an end to the terrors her kind have faced at the hands of a human organization—anything and everything she can do to stop them, she will. When she is sent to watch over someone the Alliance captured, her life takes an unplanned turn. This man is nothing like she thought he’d be. It becomes a struggle to keep him alive and out of the hands of those that will do anything to get him back, but she’s determined to keep him safe. ~ In Jacqueline Paige's Animal Senses Series, hearts and tempers collide with wild passions and animal instincts. Animal shifters live among normal humans (one-forms) and have since the dawn of time. They blend in without any cause for notice until a crime organization finds out and starts hunting them to sell off across the globe. The shifter alliance is formed to protect all their kind. Their teams are working endlessly to rescue all of theirs from lives of servitude and shutting down any involvement in the underground organization.

Download or read book The Work is The Worker written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on 1901 with total page 878 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The raising and training of competent ministers of the gospel were one of the three burdens that the author, Professor Z.T. Fomum carried permanently in his heart, alongside those of prayer and soul-winning. As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, we are called to face the challenge of the unfinished task of the evangelization of all nations. More than two centuries after the ascension of Jesus, there are still many people groups that are yet to be reached with the gospel of salvation. And as members of the body of Christ, we, the people of Christian Missionary Fellowship International (CMFI) are called to bring one billion people from 250 nations to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who are discipled to obey Him in all things by the year 2065 A.D. Professor Fomum was concerned not only by the challenge of an unfinished task but also by the eternal loss of many souls for whom Christ died. To this end, competent ministers of the New Covenant are in short supply. That is the essence of The Work is The Worker–a desperate attempt to produce the kind of workers who will do the work to the satisfaction of God’s heart. This second volume comprises teachings delivered at various sessions of the CMFI Missionary Academy–The School of Knowing and Serving God (SKSG) between 1999 and 2009.
