Book excerpt: Theosophy brought light to the “mysteries” of the Catholic Church, which are really those of the Brahmanas, although under other names. Theosophy will never accept either a Christ made flesh, according to the Roman dogma, or an anthropomorphic God, still less a “Shepherd” in the person of a Pope.

Book Madame Blavatsky refutes arguments against Theosophy

Download or read book Madame Blavatsky refutes arguments against Theosophy written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The arguments against Theosophy are like a verdant moss, which displays a velvety carpet of green, without roots, and with a deep bog below. Abuse, pure and simple, is the only weapon of partisans. When a man has lived in crime, his astral cadaver which holds him prisoner, seeks again the objects of his passions and desires to resume its earthly life. It torments the dreams of young girls, bathes in the vapour of spilt blood, and wallows about the places where the pleasures of his life flitted by. The term elementary applies not only to one principle or constituent part, i.e., an elementary primary substance, but also embodies the idea which we express by the term elemental — that which pertains to the four elements of the material world. Elementaries are earth-bound incarnated thoughts of evil men who have passed away. In the grain of sand, as in each atom of the human body, spirit is latent, not active. Yet, the atom is vitalized and energized by spirit, without being endowed with distinct consciousness. Spirit and matter co-existent, inseparable, interdependent, and convertible to each other. But European tongues are too materialistic to make room for such metaphysical ideas. A copious vocabulary, indeed, that has but one term for God and for alcohol! In Sanskrit, for instance, there are twenty words or more to render one idea in its various shades of meaning. Christendom, with its boasted civilization, has outgrown the fetishism of the Fijians. The anthropomorphic ideas of Spiritualists concerning spirit are a direct consequence of the anthropomorphic conceptions of Christians as to their Deity. Spirit is abstract light, uncreated, latent in every atom, in whose profound and sacred repose all motion must cease for ever. Spirit is a ray, a fraction of the Whole; and the Whole being Omniscient and Infinite, its fraction must partake, in degree, of the same abstract attributes. The critics of Theosophy refuse to comprehend the philosophical doctrine that every atom is imbued with Divine Light. It is only when this atom, magnetically drawn to its fellow atoms, that is transformed at last, after endless cycles of evolution, into Man — the crown of intellectual and physical evolution on earth.

Book Theosophical Society Mission and Future

Download or read book Theosophical Society Mission and Future written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-07-03 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: True Buddhism is neither a sect nor a religion. It is rather a moral and intellectual reform, which excludes no belief, but adopts none. Yet the Buddhism of today is less a rather dogmatic religion, split into many and heterogeneous sects. Like true Buddhism, Theosophy asserts and maintains the truth common to all religions, pure truth undefiled by the concretions of ages of human passions and needs, and unveils Its majesty to all thinking men.

Book Theosophical Movement the great moral but silent force

This book was released on 2018-07-03 with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human life, devoid of all its world-ideals and beliefs, becomes deprived of its higher sense and meaning. But the world-ideals can never completely die out. Exiled by the fathers, they will be received with open arms by the children. The Theosophical Movement was reborn in 1875 and thus the cyclic evolution of theosophical ideals continues.

Book Humanity seems to progress by inventing one discovery after the other

Download or read book Humanity seems to progress by inventing one discovery after the other written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-06-29 with total page 23 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dark cycle of Kali Yuga has brought back a Babel of modern thought, compared with which the “confusion of tongues” itself appears a harmony. · Let us summon disciples and fill them with sacred fire. · Let us establish mysteries and teach the Doctrine. · Let us build a temple tower whose top may reach unto heaven. A scientist is wiser in his own conceit than seven theosophists that can render a reason. No new philosophy is set up in The Secret Doctrine, only the hidden meaning of some of the religious allegories of antiquity is given, light being thrown on these by the esoteric sciences, and the common source is pointed out, whence all the world-religions and philosophies have sprung. Truth must represent an unbroken continuity. It must have no gaps and contradictions, no broken or missing links. And which of our modern religions, sciences or philosophies, is free from such defects? One who affirms that the Universe and Man are objects of the senses only, and who fatally chains thought within the region of senseless matter (as do the Darwinian evolutionists) is, at best, a sophiaphobe when not a philosophaster — never a philosopher. The period when nascent Humanity, following the law of the natural and dual evolution, was descending along with spirit into matter has been closed. We are now helping matter to ascend toward spirit; and to do that, we have to help substance to disenthrall itself from the viscous grip of sense. The so-called barbaric peoples, who stood before the present division of nations, had a much higher civilization than has yet been found in geological strata. The period when nascent human speech was preceded by gesture signs, anteceded the Sanskrit only by two thousand years or so. However, relics of social and psychological culture can hardly be found in layers of soil.

Book When pure love is perverted humanity quivers

Download or read book When pure love is perverted humanity quivers written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Nicomachus of Gerasa and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-07-07 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Oh, the unspeakable hypocrisy of our age! The age when everything under the Sun and Moon is for sale and bought! Though centuries lapse and decades of ages drop out of the lap of time, great reforms take place, empires rise and fall and rise again, and even whole races disappear before the triumphant march of civilization, in his terrific selfishness the “man” that was is the “man” that is. In their internal, or rather, essential constitution, both nature and man are at one, as their essence is identical. All grows and develops and strives towards perfection on the former planes of externality or, as well said by a philosopher, is “ever becoming”; but on the ultimate plane of the spiritual essence all is, and remains therefore immutable. It is towards this eternal Esse that everything, as every being, is gravitating gradually, almost imperceptibly, but as surely as the Universe of stars and worlds moves towards a mysterious point known to, yet still unnamed by, astronomy and called by the Occultists — the Central Spiritual Sun. Yet there are still men who, notwithstanding the present chaotic condition of the moral world and the sorry débris of the best human ideals, still persist in believing and teaching that the now ideal human perfection is no dream, but a law of divine nature; and that, had mankind to wait even millions of years, still it must someday reach it and rebecome a race of gods. For the loving essence cannot be extinguished but only perverted. Without this saving redemptive power, embodied in Satan, he simply appears as the nonsensical failure of omnipotent and omniscient imbecility which the opponents of theological Christianity sneeringly and very justly make him; with it, he becomes a thinkable Entity, the Asuras of the Puranic myths, the first breaths of Brahm?, who, after fighting the gods and defeating them, are finally themselves defeated and then hurled on to the earth where they incarnate in Humanity. Thus Satanic Humanity becomes comprehensible. After moving around his cycle of obstacles Satan may, with accumulated experiences, after all the throes of Humanity, emerge again into the light. The All-denying protestors, Atheists, Nihilists, and Anarchists men of Terror, they are just Satan himself; for he is the ideal synthesis of all discordant forces and each separate human vice or passion is but an atom of his totality. In the very depths of the heart of this Human Satanic totality burns the divine spark, all negations notwithstanding. It is called Love for Humanity, an ardent aspiration for a universal reign of Justice — hence a latent desire for light, harmony and goodness. Where do we find such a divine spark among the proud and the wealthy?

Book Who can read the Riddle of the Serpent

Download or read book Who can read the Riddle of the Serpent written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2019-02-27 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The serpent is the most ancient symbol because the reptile preceded the bird, and the bird the mammal. He was honoured by the Gnostic Ophites because he taught primeval men the Mysteries of Cosmos and Man. Serpent and Dragon were some of the names given to the “Wise Ones,” the initiated adepts of olden times. The Nagas of the Hindu and Tibetan adepts were men, not reptiles. Perhaps, when St. Patrick drove the snakes from Ireland, he was the cause of its soil having ever since produced more wit than wisdom. On the lowest plane of materiality, the Serpent was adopted as a type of feminine pubescence, on account of its sloughing and self-renewal. The Serpent and the Tree of Life are indissolubly connected. These sacred symbols have never been so degraded by antiquity as they are now, in this age of the breaking of idols, not for truth’s sake but to glorify gross matter. In the beginning of their joint existence as a glyph of Immortal Being, the Tree and Serpent were divine imagery, truly. In the days of the divine Dynasties on Earth, the now dreaded reptile, emblem of the heaven-born Logos, was regarded as the first beam of light that radiated from the abyss of Divine Mystery. As the Serpent, originally dwelling beyond absolute space and infinite time, fell into the space and finite time, he was made to assume various forms: cosmic and astronomical, theistic and pantheistic, abstract and concrete. There is a universal belief that serpents are wise, cunning, and fascinating. The dragons and serpents of antiquity are seven-headed, one head for each root-race. The Crocodile is the Egyptian Dragon, the pre-planetary form of Saturn, Sevekh’s Word-Logos. He was the dual symbol of Heaven and Earth, of Sun and Moon, made sacred to Osiris and Isis because of its amphibious nature. The Serpent was degraded as the symbol of evil and devil, only during the middle ages, when the Sun, Tree, Serpent, Crocodile, and other ancient symbols were imported wholesale by dogmatic Christianity and passed in full into the Christian Church. The “True and Perfect Serpent,” the Dark Serpent of Absolute Wisdom of the Ophite creed, is the seven-vowelled God, represented by the Swastika — the seven-fold androgyne Logos unfolding out of its own essence the faculties and powers latent in Saptaparna, the seven-leaved Man-plant.

Book Our God is Humanity and our cult the love of our fellow man

Download or read book Our God is Humanity and our cult the love of our fellow man written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-06-29 with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The only God whom we should serve is Humanity, and our only cult should be the love of our fellow man. Doing evil towards him, we wound God and make him suffer. This is our religion and only dogma. There now follows the response of Madame Blavatsky to an article by Charles Limousin, Editor of the Journal Acacia. A. The scientific aristocracy is full of vanity and struts on stilts of its own fabrication. B. A ray feeble light from the Sun of Truth worths much more than the artificial lights offered by physiologists and pathologists, and those elevated to the ranks of psychologists. C. The supernatural does not exist in Nature when one knows how to awaken the latent principle that animates matter. D. Divine wisdom rests on esoteric philosophy and facts of nature. E. A solitary ascetic is a living symbol of the most cowardly egotism. F. Universal Esotericism presents a periodic cosmic and human genesis which is logical and based on natural sciences, as well as on a pure transcendental philosophy. G. Budhist Esotericism has nothing to do with the Buddhist religion (note the difference in spelling). H. Theosophy is the forbear of modern science, though greatly transcending it in logic; and its metaphysics are vaster, far more beautiful and powerful than any emanating from a dogmatic cult. I. Happiness cannot exist where Truth is absent and egotism reigns supreme. It is merely a house of cards tumbling down at the first whiff. J-K. As long there is no room in the human heart for love of one’s fellow man for his own sake, and not for personal gratification, poor and rich man alike will always be unhappy. Modern science opposes to a natural force another natural force more powerful on the physical plane. Esoteric science opposes to a physical force, a spiritual or psychic force. L. Theosophists see in the priest of any religion a useless if not a pernicious being. M. The first law of the Sacred Science is never to use one’s knowledge for one’s own interest, but to work with and for others for their health and happiness. N. If a fusion of opposing and competing interests does not come about, individuals and nations will end devouring each other. O. Theosophy has nothing to do with Brahmanism, except to combat its abuses, remove the opium of superstition, and expose ecclesiastical cruelty. P. True Theosophists strive to be useful to their fellows, more especially to the disinherited ones of the world. Q. As long as the Brotherhood of Man remains an empty phrase in the air, progress will accomplish no other function than that of executioner of the poor and the downtrodden. R. As long as moral progress slumbers in inactivity, paralyzed by the ferocious egotism of everybody, the rich as well as the poor, happiness will remain a pie in the sky. S. The Secret Doctrine shows that at the beginning of the periodic evolution of our globe and its beings, the processes of generation offered varieties not even suspected in the modern laboratories. T. The infinite cannot associate with the finite; the unconditioned ignores the conditioned and the limited. Neither Brahmanas nor Bonzes, in their most acute exoteric delirium, have ever accepted the finiteness of Kosmos. U. Material progress, the so-called modern civilisation, has served only to provide the rich with enjoyments unknown in the centuries of barbarism. V. The West has not always refused the hand extended to it by the Eastern Adepts. X. Exoteric Brahmanism will soon be replaced by Esoteric Vedism, and Brotherly Love will bring about a fusion of the two Aryan Races. Z. But the mass has always bitten the hand that offered it help.

Book Aletheia is our God and Dogma

Download or read book Aletheia is our God and Dogma written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-06-17 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern Science and Religions dissemble Truth. Only the Theogony of the Ancient Wisdom-Religion may afford a rare glimpse of Truth. And then Nature will give up her secrets to those who seek Truth for her own sake. And to those who are devoted to Truth, who disregard personal benefit, and who persevere and teach. Verily, that which is justice is truth. As a thing is not just because God wills it, but God wills it because it is just, so there can be no Religion more true or just, than to know the things that are, no Religion higher than Truth. Neither can happiness exist where Truth is absent and where intellectual progress refuses to be subordinated to ethical growth. If bereft of Truth, the whole world will turn upside down. That is why Philaletheia is every true Theosophist’s god and dogma.
