Day by day, her words will help renew your mind and begin to change your self-image. It is a powerful book, full of life changing action steps. Do not underestimate the power of one simple action. Setting one in motion makes the kingdom of darkness quake. There are 21 days and every day has a different action. Look at yourself in the mirror right now and declare just one of them. Try this one on for size: "Thank you LORD for giving me a strong beautiful body, which brings glory to You!" Say it again, only this time declare it loudly with boldness! "Thank you LORD for giving me a strong beautiful body, which brings glory to You!" At first, you might feel silly. (Deborah did.) After repeating this about five times, you will start to realize, "Hey, this just might make a difference in the way I think." Yes, it will. Say it for three days several times a day and you will begin to believe it, and that is essential because it is the truth! That is exactly how God sees you! You can go to war with these action steps, because you will discover yourself telling the enemy where to go! Haven't you always wanted to do that? After awhile you will get the message: fat is robbing me of my life. Then you will start to believe you can stand up and do something about it. Let Deborah show you how. Okay, so you have tried almost every diet plan out there. Why not try this, and join her in being fat free forever!

Book Fat Family Fit Family

Download or read book Fat Family Fit Family written by Ron Morelli and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2011-03-29 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspiring true story behind the weight-loss saga chronicled on NBC's blockbuster show, The Biggest Loser. There's no getting past it: the Morellis were a fat family. From cookie dough and pizza binges to extreme plastic surgeries, Ron, Becky, Mike and Max Morelli experienced the swinging pendulum of weight loss that so many Americans know all too well. But when Ron and Mike were accepted as contestants on The Biggest Loser, the Morellis' lives changed forever. Ron, at 430 pounds, and 18-year-old Mike, at 388 pounds, made it to the final four, losing a whopping 399 pounds combined. Fat Family/Fit Family also tells the story of wife Becky and youngest son, Max-the story not seen on TV, but relatable to scores of American families, the story of what happens when two foodaholics meet, fall in love, get married and raise (almost inevitably) foodaholic kids. Sharing the eye-opening perspective of each family member, Fat Family/Fit Family chronicles the Morellis' amazing journey in dropping over 700 pounds together, from the emotional and physical struggles of obesity to the triumph of their newfound healthy lifestyle. Obesity doesn't just happen in a vacuum-it starts in homes like the Morellis, and it can end there, too. Fat Family/Fit Family is an ultimately inspiring story about the healing power of family.

Download or read book Heavy written by Helene A. Shugart and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016-06-07 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The current "obesity epidemic" has been at the top of the national and, increasingly, global public agenda for the last decade, the subject of extensive and intensive concern, scrutiny, and corrective efforts from various quarters. In the United States, much of this attention is predicated on the "official" discourse, or story, of obesity-that it is a matter of personal responsibility, specifically to the end of monitoring and ensuring appropriate caloric balance. However, even though it continues to have cultural presumption, that discourse does not resonate with the populace, which may explain why efforts of redress have been notoriously ineffective. In this book, Helene Shugart places obesity in cultural, political, and economic context, arguing that current anxieties regarding obesity reflect the contemporary crisis in neoliberalism, and that the failure of the official discourse of obesity mirrors the failure of neoliberalism more broadly: specifically, to account for authenticity, a powerfully resonant cultural concept today. She chronicles a number of competing discourses of obesity that have arisen in response to the failed official discourse, examining and evaluating each in relation to the idea of authenticity; assessing the practical and behavioral implications of each discourse for both obesity incidence and redress; and establishing the significance of each discourse for negotiating neoliberalism in crisis more broadly.

By the power of the Holy Spirit, I was filled with joyous anticipation of God's ability in my life, and I began to lose weight. Early into the transformation, God told me to write a journal of my experiences and the lessons He would teach me in the journey of transformation. Download or read book The Triumph of Doubt written by David Michaels and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2020-01-02 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Well-heeled American corporations have long had a financial stake in undermining scientific consensus and manufacturing uncertainty. In The Triumph of Doubt, former Obama and Clinton official David Michaels details how corrupt science becomes public policy -- and where it's happening today. Opioids. Concussions. Obesity. Climate Change. America is a country of everyday crises -- big, long-spanning problems that persist despite their toll on the country's health. And for every case of government inaction on one of these issues, there is a set of familiar, doubtful refrains: The science is unclear. The data are inconclusive. Regulation is unjustified. It's a slippery slope. Is it? The Triumph of Doubt traces the ascendance of science-for-hire in American life and government, from its origins in the tobacco industry in the 1950s to its current manifestations across government, public policy, and even professional sports. Amid fraught conversations of "alternative facts" and "truth decay," The Triumph of Doubt wields its unprecedented access to shine a light on the machinations and scope of manipulated science in American society. It is an urgent, revelatory work, one that promises to reorient conversations around science and the public good for the foreseeable future.
