For Fiscal Year (FY) 1988 through August FY 1992, for all branches of service, Appendices A and B summarize costs for types of service such as hospitalizations, ambulatory professional services, designated handicapped cases, beneficiary drugs, etc. New Orleans data are presented in Appendix A; Atlanta results are in Appendix B. These appendices are ordered by branch of service, by fiscal year, by whether the scope is the primary city or its surrounding metropolitan area, and by type of service. Amounts billed by the health care provider, allowed by the fiduciary intermediary, paid by the patient, paid by others, and paid by the government are shown. Appendices C and D are corollary reports relisting hospitalization data from Appendices A and B respectively, additionally showing for each fiscal year and branch of service, the corresponding number of admissions, dispositions, and bed days, with the average admission length of stay and average disposition length of stay.

The source of the data was the Tri-Service CHAMPUS Statistical Database Project (TCSDP). The detailed report includes numerous tables on the demographic distributions based on several criteria such as billable MTF, sex government, and age the total numbers of visits and services, the totals paid by the government, the patientand other sources, computed also as percentages of grand total for each category were presented. Several statistical tests and the resulting conclusions about relationship between sponsor's branch of service and variables of interest (like age, sex, leading diagnoses and procedures are included).
