Just in time for the movie, this new edition of his New York Times and USA Today bestselling sequel to MEG shows just how deep fear can run when you don’t know what lurks beneath the surface… Its appetite is ravenous. Its teeth, scalpel-sharp. For the first time, the captive 20-ton Megalodon shark has tasted human blood, and it wants more… On the other side of the world, in the silent depths of the ocean, lies the Marianas Trench, where the Megalodon has spawned since the dawn of time. Paleobiologist Jonas Taylor once dared to enter this perilous cavern. He alone faced a Megalodon shark and cut its heart out. Book With Cavalry In 1915 The British Trooper In The Trench Line Through Second Battle Of Ypres Illustrated Edition

Download or read book With Cavalry In 1915 The British Trooper In The Trench Line Through Second Battle Of Ypres Illustrated Edition written by Frederic Abernethy Coleman and published by Pickle Partners Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04-12 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Frederic Coleman returns to the front with the British Army in 1915 after his adventures in 1914, as recounted in his first reminiscences “From Mons to Ypres with General French”. Once again attached to the British cavalry, grand movements had ceased and the positional war of attrition, artillery and trenches would dominate from then to the end of the war. 1915 would see much hard fighting and the cavalry divisions would often be pressed into service in the trenches alongside the infantry. The early months of 1915 were a period of relative quiet, which allowed the author to tour and recount the devastated scenery of Ypres, St. Eloi and all along the line; he also records the effects of war on the civilian French and Belgian populations as he tours along in his car. However, as the year goes on, the Spring would see the second battle of Ypres and the advent of the use of poison gas. Hard pressed all along the line, Coleman paints vivid picture of the desperate measures undertaken by the British to hold on at all costs. An excellent First World War One memoir. Author — Frederic Abernethy Coleman 1876-1931 Text taken, whole and complete, from the edition published in London: S. Low, Marston & co., limited, 1916. Original Page Count – xvi and 302 pages. Illustrations – numerous illustrations throughout.

Seven years ago, and seven miles below the surface of the Pacific Ocean, Dr. Jonas Taylor encountered something that changed the course of his life. Once a Navy deep-sea submersible pilot, now a marine paleontologist, Taylor is convinced that a remnant population of Carcharodon megalodon -- prehistoric sharks growing up to 70 feet long, that subsisted on whales -- lurks at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. When offered the opportunity to return to those crushing depths in search of the Megs, Taylor leaps at the chance... but the quest for scientific knowledge (and personal vindication) becomes a desperate fight for survival, when the most vicious predator that the earth has ever known is freed to once-again hunt the surface.
