They had some insect and growth crack injury and slight heat injury and browning. There was practically no soft rot. Host of the tubers from both fields were skinned at the bud end to the extent of 5 to 10 percent of the entire surface of the tuber. The potatoes for potato chips hi Car 7 were U. S. No. 2 grade grown near Arvin. They were mature (no skinning) but had slight heat injury. There was no browning or soft rot.
