Book Fission Product Processes In Reactor Accidents

Download or read book Fission Product Processes In Reactor Accidents written by J. T. Rogers and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2020-11-26 with total page 742 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Three Mile Island and Chernobyl nuclear incidents emphasized the need for the world-wide nuclear community to cooperate further and exchange the results of research in this field in the most open and effective manner. Recognizing the roles of heat and mass transfer in all aspects of fission-product behavior in sever reactor accidents, the Executive Committee of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer organized a Seminar on Fission Product Transport Processes in Reactor Accidents. This book contains the eleven of the lectures and all the papers presented at the seminar along with four invited papers that were not presented and a summary of the closing session.

Download or read book Reactor Dosimetry State Of The Art 2008 Proceedings Of The 13th International Symposium written by Wim Voorbraak and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2009-08-19 with total page 761 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives the state of the art in the field of reactor dosimetry as applied in nuclear power plants and research reactors. Surveillance programs are presented for nuclear power plants in Europe, including Russia and Ukraine, USA, Argentina and Korea. New cross-section measurements from most of the European, American and Japanese research reactors are reported. The latest developments in computer code development for radiation transport and shielding calculations, and radiation measurement techniques are also highlighted.

Book Severe Accidents in Nuclear Power Plants

Download or read book Severe Accidents in Nuclear Power Plants written by International Atomic Energy Agency and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 526 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Proceedings of a symposium jointly organized with OECD/NEA, Sorrento, Italy, 21-25 March 1988. The contents of the pro- ceedings represent a wide spectrum of topics and should provide an understanding of the issue of beyond the design basis accidents, quite frequently called 'severe accidents'. The papers give an overview of different national approaches, with the overall emphasis on preventive, mitigative and accident management measures. The most important outcome of the symposium was a clear awareness of accident management questions which were among the most controversial issues discussed.

Book Fission Product Transport Analysis in a Loss of Decay Heat Removal Accident at Browns Ferry

Download or read book Fission Product Transport Analysis in a Loss of Decay Heat Removal Accident at Browns Ferry written by and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper summarizes an analysis of the movement of noble gases, iodine, and cesium fission products within the Mark-I containment BWR reactor system represented by Browns Ferry Unit 1 during a postulated accident sequence initiated by a loss of decay heat removal (DHR) capability following a scram. The event analysis showed that this accident could be brought under control by various means, but the sequence with no operator action ultimately leads to containment (drywell) failure followed by loss of water from the reactor vessel, core degradation due to overheating, and reactor vessel failure with attendant movement of core debris onto the drywell floor.
