Book Transient Heat Transfer in Reactor Coolant Channels

Download or read book Transient Heat Transfer in Reactor Coolant Channels written by and published by . This book was released on 1957 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An analysis is presented of the transient behavior of a generalized cooiant channel neglecting temperature dependent reactivity changes. The analysis is applicable to forced convection cooling of heterogeneous reactor fuel elements or electrically heated simulation thereof. Derivations are given for cases of variation of coolant inlet temperature and of heat generation. An approximation is also developed applicable to thin fuel elements. From this, solutions are obtained for cases-of impulsive, step, linear, and step-exponential variations of inlet temperature, and, of impulsive and uniform variations of heat generation. The solutions presented will be of use during preliminary stages of design of new heterogeneous reactor concepts (when the use of computing machines may not be warranted), and, in the design and interpretation of transient experiments simulating reactor fuel channels. Book Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow in Nuclear Systems

Download or read book Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow in Nuclear Systems written by Henri Fenech and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 591 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heat Transfer and Fluid in Flow Nuclear Systems discusses topics that bridge the gap between the fundamental principles and the designed practices. The book is comprised of six chapters that cover analysis of the predicting thermal-hydraulics performance of large nuclear reactors and associated heat-exchangers or steam generators of various nuclear systems. Chapter 1 tackles the general considerations on thermal design and performance requirements of nuclear reactor cores. The second chapter deals with pressurized subcooled light water systems, and the third chapter covers boiling water reactor systems. Chapter 4 tackles liquid metal cooled systems, while Chapter 5 discusses helium cooled systems. The last chapter deals with heat-exchangers and steam generators. The book will be of great help to engineers, scientists, and graduate students concerned with thermal and hydraulic problems.

Book Nuclear Thermal Hydraulic and Two Phase Flow

Download or read book Nuclear Thermal Hydraulic and Two Phase Flow written by Jun Wang and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2018-10-11 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nuclear energy is one of the most important clear energy and contributes more than 10% electric power to human society in the past decades of years. The nuclear thermal hydraulic and two-phase flow is one of the basic branches of nuclear technology and provides structure design and safety analysis to the nuclear power reactors. In the new century, the basic theoretical research of thermal hydraulic and two-phase flow, and innovative design for the next generation nuclear power plants (especially for the small modular reactor and molten salt reactor), along with other nuclear branches, constantly support the development of nuclear technology.

Book Thermal Analysis of Pressurized Water Reactors

Download or read book Thermal Analysis of Pressurized Water Reactors written by Long-sun Tong and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 776 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basic objective of this book is to present the principles underlying the thermal and hydraulic design of pressurized water reactors. In addition, the empirical data, engineering properties, and computer techniques required for design, but not available in conventional handbooks, are presented or referenced. Because of the many advances and changes that have occurred since the second edition, extensive improvements in both understanding the phenomena involved and in calculational techniques are reflected in the substantial additions to this third edition. Also, an additional chapter has been added to accommodate the many developments in the area of safety analysis.
