Book Interconnection Noise in VLSI Circuits

Download or read book Interconnection Noise in VLSI Circuits written by Francesc Moll and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-05-08 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses two main problems with interconnections at the chip and package level: crosstalk and simultaneous switching noise. Its orientation is towards giving general information rather than a compilation of practical cases. Each chapter contains a list of references for the topics.

Book Transmission Lines and Lumped Circuits

Download or read book Transmission Lines and Lumped Circuits written by Giovanni Miano and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2001-02-23 with total page 503 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theory of transmission lines is a classical topic of electrical engineering. Recently this topic has received renewed attention and has been a focus of considerable research. This is because the transmisson line theory has found new and important applications in the area of high-speed VLSI interconnects, while it has retained its significance in the area of power transmission. In many applications, transmission lines are connected to nonlinear circuits. For instance, interconnects of high-speed VLSI chips can be modelled as transmission lines loaded with nonlinear elements. These nonlinearities may lead to many new effects such as instability, chaos, generation of higher order harmonics, etc. The mathematical models of transmission lines with nonlinear loads consist of the linear partial differential equations describing the current and voltage dynamics along the lines together with the nonlinear boundary conditions imposed by the nonlinear loads connected to the lines. These nonlinear boundary conditions make the mathematical treatment very difficult. For this reason, the analysis of transmission lines with nonlinear loads has not been addressed adequately in the existing literature. The unique and distinct feature of the proposed book is that it will present systematic, comprehensive, and in-depth analysis of transmission lines with nonlinear loads. - A unified approach for the analysis of networks composed of distributed and lumped circuits - A simple, concise and completely general way to present the wave propagation on transmission lines, including a thorough study of the line equations in characteristic form - Frequency and time domain multiport representations of any linear transmission line - A detailed analysis of the influence on the line characterization of the frequency and space dependence of the line parameters - A rigorous study of the properties of the analytical and numerical solutions of the network equations - The associated discrete circuits and the associated resisitive circuits of transmission lines - Periodic solutions, bifurcations and chaos in transmission lines connected to noninear lumped circuits

Book Transmission Lines Matching and Crosstalk

Download or read book Transmission Lines Matching and Crosstalk written by Kenneth L. Kaiser and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2005-09-20 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In chapters culled from the popular and critically acclaimed Electromagnetic Compatibility Handbook, Transmission Lines, Matching, and Crosstalk provides a tightly focused, convenient, and affordable reference for those interested primarily in this subset of topics. Author Kenneth L. Kaiser demystifies transmission lines, matching, and crosstalk and explains the source and limitations of the approximations, guidelines, models, and rules-of-thumb used in this field. The material is presented in a unique question-and-answer format that gets straight to the heart of each topic. The book includes numerous examples and uses Mathcad to generate all of the figures and many solutions to equations. In many cases, the entire Mathcad program is provided.

Book MCM C Mixed Technologies and Thick Film Sensors

Download or read book MCM C Mixed Technologies and Thick Film Sensors written by W.K. Jones and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multi-chip modules (MCMs) with high wiring density, controlled impedance interconnects, and thermal management capability have recently been developed to address the problems posed by advances in electronic systems that make demands for higher speeds and complexity. MCM-C/Mixed Technologies and Thick Film Sensors highlights recent advances in MCM-C technology. Developments in materials and processes which have led to increased interconnection density are reviewed: finer resolution thick film inks, high performance-low temperature dielectric tapes, precision via generation by both laser and mechanical methods, and enhanced screen printing technologies have given us feature resolution to the 50 mum line/space level. Thermal management has greatly benefitted from such new materials as cofire AIN and diamond. MCM-C technology is compatible with thick film sensors, and work is reviewed on environmental gas sensors, pressure and temperature sensors, and the development of novel materials in this area.

Book Power and Timing Modelling for Performance of Integrated Circuits

Download or read book Power and Timing Modelling for Performance of Integrated Circuits written by Daniel Auvergne and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Fast advances in technology raise new challenges to physical design of integrated circuits and systems. High circuit density and increasing importance of battery-operated applications stress emphasis in system performances not only timing constraints but also power constraints to be considered at every stage of physical design. Regularly decreasing feature size leads to dense circuits in which high complexity combined with highly limited power dissipation must not sacrifice computational knowledge. The objective of this book is to provide a summary of important more recent research in this rapidly changing field. A major emphasis is put on modelling and characterisation mehtods allowing performance-driven design for advanced technologies"--Back cover.
