Thoughts begotten and expressed un der such disadvantages are likely to lack continuity and completeness. In the work there is no attempt at profundity or exhaustiveness. There is only an effort to set forth a few of the more noticeable characteristics of primi tive life - especially primitive life in the Southwest relating to environment. Many interesting phases of Pueblo ethnology bearing on the main subject are merely touched upon, others entirely omitted.
