Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a comprehensive, yet unusual, book on the faith and life of Baptist Christians. It explores a Baptist understanding of the church, ministry, sacraments, and mission from a thoroughly theological perspective. In a series of interlinked essays, the author relates Baptist identity to a theology of covenant, and to participation in the communion of the triune God. The book thus surveys the tracks of heritage, giving a solid historical background to each of the major themes, while at the same time offering traces of possible paths for the future, based on a tracing out of a vision of God.

Book excerpt: Learning Tracks is an assessment tool to support the planning and assessment of learning for children and young people with severe and complex learning disabilities (SCLD). It was designed by Lindy Furby and Jilly Catlow while teaching at St Crispin’s School for children and young people with severe and complex learning disabilities. At the very early stages of learning, the steps that children and young people make can be small but incredibly significant for them and those who teach them. However, it can be problematic to evidence and formally recognise these achievements and plan next steps. Learning Tracks presents a framework to recognise achievement at these early levels and plan for progression through challenge, breadth and application. The Learning Tracks framework for recognising achievement at very early levels of learning: Can help teachers understand the way their children may be learning Offers a vocabulary for describing the learning Offers a structure for planning the learning When you purchase Learning Tracks, you receive the book that introduces you to the framework and theories underpinning Learning Tracks, describes the curriculum included and demonstrates how it can be implemented in your setting. In addition to this book you will also receive access to the complete ready-made Learning Tracks assessment tool that can be downloaded online. This is available as a PDF with editable elements and a template you can personalise it to suit your individual needs.

Book excerpt: The rule of law for Tawny owl forbids crossing the borders to no man's land. The young Tawny owl Olmo decides to resist this ancient rule, too much fascinated by the dark secrets of ancient times. Unafraid, he leaves his desolate homeland and embarks on a life-threatening journey. But his decision has serious consequences that will dramatically change the lives of the owl population. ‘A moving story that can hardly be thought more exemplary as a fable of the entanglement of people of our time. I hope this book is widely read.’ (Hans Bemmann, author of ‘The Stone and the Flute’ ) ‘Am an Owl’ is published for the first time in the original language. A relentless system regulates the coexistence of Barn owls, Tawny owls and Little owls. In the land of the owls, violations of these ancient rules are punished with death. But a new era has begun: former enemies inevitably become allies in the fight against a common, old enemy. With poetic wit and captivating powers of observation, Martin Hocke has woven this fantastic trilogy of novels, which revolves around owls and other nocturnal birds, into a parable that stands in the tradition of ‘Watership Down’ and ‘Wind in the Willows’ . Individual volumes: ‘Ancient Solitary Reign’ , ‘The Lost Domain’, ‘Am an Owl’

Ross Rowen, heir to a pharmaceutical fortune, deserts the velvet life of wealth and haute culture to live in poverty among blue-collar laborers. Shannon Flavin deserts a troubled family to take her place in the great Manhattan. They meet in the diner where Shannon waitresses and instantly fall in love. When Ross accosts a Vietnam War protestor, they travel to Shannon’s home in Blue Water, New Jersey. Life in the backwater resort clashes with Ross’s quixotic temperament. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Statutory warning: Language is a minefield. Words that firms and consumers use can be dealbreakers! Today, firms have many language-based decisions to make—from the brand name to the language of their annual reports to what they should or shouldn’t say on social media. Moreover, consumers leave a goldmine of information via their words expressing their likes, dislikes, perceptions and attitudes. What the firm communicates and what consumers say have an impact on consumer attitudes, satisfaction, loyalty, and ultimately, on a firm's sales, market share and profits. In this book, Abhishek Borah meticulously and marvellously showcases the influence of language on business. Through examples ranging from Toyota to Tesla and Metallica to Mahatma Gandhi, you will read about how to improvise on social media, how changing the use of simple pronouns like ‘we’ and ‘you’ can affect a firm’s bottom line, how to spot a fake review online and much more. So whether you are just inquisitive about the role of language in affecting consumer and company behaviour or a student wondering about the utility of language analysis in understanding them, Mine Your Language will teach you to use language to influence, engage and predict!

Book Mountain Bike Use on Shared Tracks

Download or read book Mountain Bike Use on Shared Tracks written by Claudia Kling and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 1999-08-09 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inhaltsangabe:Abstract: In the past years a lot of new kinds of sport were discovered as a form of outdoor recreation. Today the traditional walker has to share the tracks with a lot of other user groups. At present shared tracks often lead to conflicts between the old and the new user groups. One of the new groups is the Mountain Bike (MTB) group. Mountain biking seems to be the new wave sport of the nineties, but it all started in the early to mid 1970 s with a few enthusiasts in the US. It became established internationally in the early 1980 s. Mountain bikes began to appear in New Zealand from the mid 1980 s, and since then are growing in popularity among all ages and genders. The popularity of the MTB is now changing the recreational patterns of the traditional outdoor user groups. A discernible number of people who have traditionally been walkers/trampers have now often changed their outdoor recreation use from walking to biking. This new type of track use seems to create conflicts in a social and physical way, and it appears that there are some problems between walkers/trampers and mountain bikers. To get all these information different questionnaires were designed, adequate for every user group. Book Lost Road Courses

Download or read book Lost Road Courses written by Martin Rudow and published by CarTech Inc. This book was released on 2016-07-15 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Road racing has long-storied roots in North America that reach from coast to coast and to Canada. Some of the greatest drivers to ever compete raced wickedly fast machines, staged epic duels on winding strips of asphalt, and created history. This history left an enduring legacy that is revealed and celebrated in Lost Road Courses. Road racer and road racing expert Martin Rudow retraces road racing's glorious past and visits the defunct classic road courses across the United States and Canada. Many road courses were built in the 1950s and 1960s, the golden age of American road racing. These classic road courses built and hosted famous races for Trans-Am, Can-Am, IndyCar, Formula 1, and sports car racing, but did not survive the times. They fell victim to changing times, poor business decisions, urban sprawl, safety standards, and increasing real estate prices. Rudow recounts the breathtaking races and fascinating history of more than 16 tracks from around North America. Riverside International Raceway, Bridgehampton Race Circuit, Ontario Motor Speedway, Continental Divide Raceway, and many others were once major race venues that have since closed. The great race teams, legendary drivers, classic race series that visited the tracks, and cars that turned laps are brought into full focus. The exploits of Chaparral, McLaren, Bud Moore, Lotus, Penske, and other race teams as well as racing greats Mario Andretti, Parnelli Jones, Jim Hall, A. J. Foyt, Al Unser, Jim Clark, and Dan Gurney are covered. Rudow also digs beneath the surface to reveal the story behind the story. The visionaries and businessmen who saw potential and risked capital to build these palaces of speed come back to life. He also recognizes the unsung heroes and regional racers who competed, staffed, and took on various roles at these tracks. In the pages of this book, a nostalgic tour of these famous races at these vintage road circuits unfolds. Many period photos illustrate the racing action and the tracks themselves in their former glory, and modern color shows the tracks as they currently stand. If you're a fan of classic sports car, Can-Am, Trans-Am, IndyCar, Formula 1, as well as classic and unique tracks of yesteryear, this book is a must-have.
