Antifa terrorists in Portland were kidnapping wealthy individuals and demanding enormous ransoms from the kidnapped victim’s families. Tommy tells Rob that Marty fits the kidnapper’s profile. Tommy’s intel proves to be right. Within days, Marty is kidnapped. The search for her takes Rob and Tommy on trails surrounding Mt. Hood, where Antifa’s secret hideout was thought to be. The home-grown anarchists, believed to be made up of mostly entitled dissatisfied Millenials, were no strangers to death and destruction and had embarked on a journey to cause both. Weapons of mass destruction had previously been stolen by Antifa followers and their use was now a threat to the well-being of thousands of innocents in Portland. Together with American military forces, the CIA, Homeland Security and other government anti-terrorism agencies, Tommy and Rob set off on their separate perilous journeys. Was it destiny or determination that kept Rob and Tommy together in circumstances of natural and terrorism-driven danger and death. As events in Portland escalate, both men would personally experience devastating loss and sorrow during the defeat of Antifa’s short-lived revolution.

Prior to that she has served in a counter-terrorist unit in the Israeli Defense Forces and she left the army at the rank of Sergeant. She was also a lieutenant in the Israel National Police. For the past eight years, Dr. Haberfeld has been involved in developing, coordinating and teaching in a special training program for the New York City Police Department, where she teaches courses in police ethics, leadership and counter-terrorism. She was also an Academic Coordinator of the Law Enforcement Executive Police Institute for the State of New York, where she taught modules on counter-terrorism response. Agostino von Hassell is the president of The Repton Group LLC, a New York City based consulting group that deals mostly with national security issues. He has written numerous political and historical articles and is the author of two major military histories, Warriors: The United States Marine Corps and Strike Force: Marine Corps Special Operations. In 2003, he published a pictorial portrait of the United States—In Honor of America. He has taught as an adjunct professor in the graduate program of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, teaching members of the New York City Police Department in subjects such as counter-terrorism and leadership. He is a life member of the United States Marine Corps Combat Correspondents, the National Defense Industry Association, the Association of Former Intelligence Officers and the Authors’ Guild.

The aim of the Frontiers research topic “Signalling pathways in embryonic development” has been to provide a forum for experts in cell and developmental biology to share recent advances in the field of signalling during embryonic development. Sixteen articles in a variety of formats are united in this Topic, offering a valuable collection for researchers looking for an update in the knowledge of signalling pathways operating during embryogenesis. The works, focused mainly on vertebrates, explore different aspects of this theme from cell communication to organ formation and have implications for areas as distant as evolution or pathology. Understanding developmental signalling pathways is important for several reasons. It gives us information about basic mechanisms of cell function and interactions needed for morphogenesis and organogenesis. It uncovers the basis of congenital malformations, since errors at any step of cell signalling during development are a major cause of defects.
