Considering the success and failures of other constitutional challenges on the death penalty in Africa, it may not be easy for Ugandans to challenge the death penalty as an unconstitutional form of punishment. However, it can certainly be confronted based on the failure to comply with procedural safeguards for those on death row at the domestic, regional and international level.
