Book excerpt: Tommy Quinn is a typical eight year old boy with a problem. He has his hopes and feelings about Santa Claus from all the stories he has heard, but he is a long way from the home his parents grew up in. Although he has faith in the stories, other kids around him do not share his opinions, and tell him the stories he has heard simply aren't true, and fill his mind with doubts. This troubles him and as he prepares for bed on Christmas Eve. He voices his emotions and concerns to his mother. She cuddles with him as she tries to comfort and reassure him of his feelings as they sit and watch a train circle beneath their computer generated Christmas tree. Tommy wants a real tree just like the one in his parent's pictures, but because of where they now live, this is just not possible. Tommy feels that Santa will never find him, but his mother encourages him not to give up hope. She tells him that no matter where children live, Santa always finds them, but he has to really believe. Tommy goes to bed unsure of just what to believe. During the night, Tommy's sleep is disturbed. Something is not right, so alone he inspects their dimly lit home. Nothing appears different at first, but he senses a difference. As he approaches their computer generated tree, he realizes things are no longer what they were hours ago. Suspicious of the changes, he calls to his parents, but his call to them is interrupted. What Tommy discovers next could alter his doubts and feelings about Christmas.

Book excerpt: The complete collection of short stories from The Christmas Wish Series. The Christmas Wish: Johnny and Tommy's Story Ten-year-olds Tommy and Johnny do everything together. Whether it's riding the school bus, having sleepovers or watching the same old movies every single Christmas, the two of them are inseparable. During one of their traditional December movie nights, Tommy makes a wish that if he had just one Christmas wish, it would be for him and Johnny to be together forever. But little does he know, there's magic around. Magic that can make his dream come true. The Christmas Wish: The Lonely Farmer It's December, the time of year when there's lights and joy and magic in the air. At least, there would be, if Landon wasn't battling with the memory of the year before. Last year, just two days before Christmas, he lost his husband and was left to look after their ten-year- old son all by himself. It had been a hard year, for both Landon and his son, James, but when Christmastime comes around again, he realizes that perhaps he isn't prepared for just how hard it is still going to be. When his late husband's brother comes to visit, Landon takes the opportunity to spend some time alone, processing his thoughts and his role in this family unit. But what will happen when his dreams start to leak out into the real world and his husband becomes more than just a memory? When Landon is forced to choose between a life with his son, or the ghost of his lost love, which will prove to be more important to him? The Lonely Farmer is a tale of romance, heartbreak and joy, as a man discovers that true happiness is being there for your family when they need you the most. The Christmas Wish: The Magical Bracelet Prince Damien has never known a life outside the castle. If he goes to town, it is with a royal escort. If he visits the people, it is with his royal guards. If he wants to see the Christmas lamps lit across the town, then it is from his window at the top of the tower. In short, Damien isn't like a normal kid. But now that he is nearly thirteen, Damien is determined to get some independence, and when he escapes from the castle and finds a magic bracelet that can grant his every wish, it seems like his life is going to change for the better. How long will his newfound happiness last, however? And what will happen when the king comes looking for him? All will be well, so long as he doesn't waste his Christmas wish...

Frustrated by life as a privileged young lady, Evie longs to play a greater part in the conflict—but how?—and as Thomas struggles with the unimaginable realities of war he also faces personal battles back home where War Office regulations on press reporting cause trouble at his father’s newspaper business. Through their letters, Evie and Thomas share their greatest hopes and fears—and grow ever fonder from afar. Can love flourish amid the horror of the First World War, or will fate intervene? Christmas 1968. With failing health, Thomas returns to Paris—a cherished packet of letters in hand—determined to lay to rest the ghosts of his past. But one final letter is waiting for him…
