En ese tiempo, cuando ingresé al Magdiel yo venía de Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, él venía de Cd. Mante. Me informó que nació en el Municipio del Mante, el 7 de Junio de 1935. Fuimos compañeros de cuarto allí en el Instituto, y desde entonces somos buenos amigos y compañeros en estas lides. Se graduó el 1956, se casó con Elizabeth Posada. El supo ganar los espacios en el tiempo. Es educador, por lo que se propuso cursar los niveles educativos que exige su profesión; desde terminar la Primaria, la Secundaria, la Preparatoria, se recibió de Licenciado en Pedagogía y de Sociología y con la Especialidad en Ciencias Sociales, en la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, también se graduó como profesor de Educación Media y con la Especialidad en Orientación Vocacional, en la Normal Superior de Tamaulipas. Incursionó en el Sistema Educativo Mexicano, la Secretaría de Educación Pública lo distinguió enviándolo a un curso de excelencia, y participó en comisiones con distintos fines a nivel nacional. Más tarde, sacó su Maestría en Divinidades de la Universidad de Hawaii en el Campus de Oklahoma City, y fue Doctorado en Teología por La Escuela de Biblia, Teología, Seminario y Universidad, de Riverside, California Estados Unidos, Se le considera cofundador de la obra de Las Asambleas de Dios en el Estado de Tabasco, fundó la Iglesia en Teapa, Tabasco, pastoreó en Linares, Nuevo León, en Piedras Negras, Coahuila. En Acapulco, Guerrero, en Reynosa Tamaulipas, ocho años fue director de un Instituto Bíblico en Reynosa, fundó el Instituto Bíblico Emaús y por 26 años fue su director. Es Presidente de "EAGLES INTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY". Sus hijos son: Josué, Benjamín, Roberto y Lily, todos con diferentes grados educativos y diferentes posiciones en calidad de siervos del Señor, dedicados al ministerio. Book excerpt: In Planetary Longings eminent cultural theorist Mary Louise Pratt posits that the last decade of the twentieth century and the first decades of the twenty-first mark a turning point in the human and planetary condition. Examining the forces of modernity, neoliberalism, coloniality, and indigeneity in their pre- and postmillennial forms, Pratt reflects on the crisis of futurity that accompanies the millennial turn in relation to environmental disaster and to the new forms of thinking it has catalyzed. She turns to 1990s Latin American vernacular culture, literary fiction, and social movements, which simultaneously registered neoliberalism’s devastating effects and pursued alternate ways of knowing and living. Tracing the workings of colonialism alongside the history of anticolonial struggles and Indigenous mobilizations in the Americas, Pratt analyzes indigeneity both as a key index of coloniality, neoliberal extraction, and ecological destruction, and as a source for alternative modes of thought and being. Ultimately, Pratt demonstrates that the changes on either side of the millennium have catalyzed new forms of world-making and knowledge-making in the face of an unknowable and catastrophic future.

In the kitchen, Abarca demonstrates, women assert their own saz?n (seasoning), not only in their cooking but also in their lives. The corpora are accompanied by comparative linguistic studies, models and standard linguistic measures of spoken language variability. Each corpus is built to the same design using identical sampling techniques, and each corpus is presented in multimedia format, allowing simultaneous access to aligned acoustic and textual information. Texts are headed with information about provenance, participants, etc. and the transcriptions show changes of speaker. Speech acts are tagged according to the evidence of prosodic criteria. Each corpus totals 300,000 words and presents formal and informal speech in a variety of contexts of use, dialogue structure and text genres, semantic domains and speech act typologies. The corpora have great statistical relevance for spoken language structures and can address key issues in human language technology such as speech recognition in unrestricted discourse, the suitability of speech synthesis in natural prosody, and multilingual applications of the spoken language interface. The work provides new data and innovative theoretical perspectives that are relevant for corpus linguistics, romance linguistics, syntactic theory, speech and prosody research, and second language acquisition.
