Download or read book The Physical Metallurgy of Cobalt base Superalloys written by H J Wagner and published by . This book was released on 1962 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A detailed picture is presented of the physical and chemical phenomena that affect the behavior of cobalt-base superalloys. Solid-solution strengthening is obtained from the high-melting metallic elements molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, and columbium. These elements also participate in precipitation reactions involving their carbides. Precipitation of intermetallic compounds such as Ni3Ti is an important process in cobalt alloys containing appreciable amounts of nickel and titanium. The relationships among microstructure, heat treatment, and mechanical properties of the important commercial alloys are considered, and whenever possible, explained on the basis of the physical and chem cal processes that occur. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To aid in quick identification and easy location of specific technical data and information in the various reports and memoranda which have been prepared and distributed by the Defense Metals Information Center, as well as by DMIC's forerunner, the Titanium Metallurgical Laboratory, a classification by major subject matter was prepared. The classification covers reports through DMIC Report 193 and memoranda through DMIC Memorandum 183. (Author).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A summary is presented of the status of the Department of Defense Refractory Metals SheetRolling Program to accelerate the development of production techniques for high-quality, consistent sheet products from the refractory metals (Nb, Mo, Ta, and W) and their alloys. The program includes: (1) development of sheet production techniques, (2) establishment of minimum data re uired to evaluate mill production, (3) evaluation of fabrication characteristics of the sheet produced, and (4) establishment of design data. Contracts were awarded for the development of sheet production techniques for all four refractory metals. One contract was awarded for the evaluation of Mo alloy sheet fabrication characteristics. Download or read book Properties of Coated Refractory Metals written by W. A. Gibeaut and published by . This book was released on 1964 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report summarizes the information generated since the middle of 1961 on the chemical, physical, and mechanical properties of refractory metals that are coated with oxidation-resistant coatings of advanced-experimental or commercial status. It is a supplement to DMIC Report 162, Coatings for the Protection of Refractory Metals from Oxidation, dated November 24, 1961. Recent data on specific silicide- and aluminide- type coatings for columbium, molybdenum, tantalum, and tungsten and their alloys reflect general advances in coating quality and performance, understanding of the behavior of coated systems, and more complete realization of the problems associated with the use of coated hardware.
