Book Biblical Meaning of the Translated Words Truth and the Truth in the New Testament Scriptures

Download or read book Biblical Meaning of the Translated Words Truth and the Truth in the New Testament Scriptures written by Repsaj Jasper and published by . This book was released on 2013-12-15 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Believers need to understand that the God is the Standard for everything including the definition and meaning of words as revealed in the Bible especially in the New Testament Scriptures. There are many translated words from the original text of the New Testament such as love ("agape"), to love("agapao"), good("agathos" or "kalos"), righteous)("dikaios"), evil("poneros" or "kakos"), faith("pistis"), truth("aletheia"), etc., that cannot be correctly understood when the meanings are taken from world dictionaries nor from experts in Hebrew and Greek languages. For example, the biblical meaning of love("agape") is that The God is love(1 John 5:8,16). Mankind are NOT love! Accordingly, only One, the God is able to love("agapao"), no mankind is able to love("agapao"). This is the bible definition of love("agape") and to love("agapao"). This Book 26 reveals the biblical meaning of the translated words truth and the truth. Truth in the original Greek text is "aletheia." A typical world or mankind definition of truth is: truthfulness; constancy; actuality; accuracy or adjustment; an established fact; known facts; knowledge(Chambers Twentieth Century dictionary. New Edition, by M. Macdonald 1972), According to the world dictionary any one can speak the truth, while the biblical definition of "aletheia" or truth is that "the word of the God is truth." And that "Jesus Christ is the truth." This means any mankind who speaks accurately of what actually happens is only speaking a fact, but is not speaking "truth" because only the word of the God is "truth." Paul in Romans 3:4 revealed that the God came into being or exists as "true"("alethes") but every mankind a "falsifier"("pseustes"). This means that no mankind came/comes into being as "true" and therefore whatever any mankind speak cannot be "truth"("aletheia") unless mankind speak "the word of the God" or mankind are led by the God through His Son, Jesus Christ by His Spirit to speak His word. The biblical definitions of "truth"("aletheia") and "the truth"("ho aletheia") are given in John 17:17 and John 14:6. "Truth" and "the truth" are also linked to the God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and also to holy, holiness, righteous, righteousness, love and faith and the gospel of salvation. In fact only when true believers are made holy in "the truth" of the God will they be able to enter into the kingdom of the God or to receive everlasting life. This Book translates every scripture in the New Testament Greek Received Text concerning "truth" ("aletheia") and "the truth"("ho aletheia") and its importance to the salvation of every true believer.

Download or read book What Is the Bible written by Matthew Baker and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2016-04-01 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The patristic doctrine of Scripture is an understudied topic. Recent scholars, however, have shown considerable interest in patristic exegetical strategies and methods—from rhetoric and typology, to theory and method; far less attention, though, has been paid to the early Christian understanding of the nature of Scripture itself. This volume explores the patristic vision of the Bible—the understanding of Scripture as the word of life and salvation, the theological, liturgical, and ascetical practice of reading—and is anchored by keynote essays from Fr. John McGuckin, Paul Blowers, and Michael Legaspi. The purpose is to reopen a consideration of the doctrine of Scripture for contemporary theology, rooted in the tradition of the Church Fathers (Greek, Latin, and Oriental), an endeavor inspired by the theological vision of the twentieth century’s foremost Orthodox Christian theologian, Fr. Georges Florovsky. Our interest is not in mere description of historical uses of Scripture or interpretive methods, but rather in the very nature of Scripture itself and its place within the whole economy of creation, revelation, and salvation.

Book Synonyms of the New Testament

Download or read book Synonyms of the New Testament written by Richard Trench and published by Cosimo, Inc.. This book was released on 2007-04-01 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Developed as a series of lectures delivered at King's College, Ireland, this 1880 work by a professor of theology studies the synonyms in the New Testament as written in Greek in order to discern possibilities of meaning that less subtle languages-such as English-cannot manage to impart. The author believed that one of the most valuable things a teacher could pass along to his students is a deep interest and reverence for grammar and language, and so this valuable exercise delves into the sometimes vague and sometimes specific meanings of Biblical words that men have come to for guidance in their lives. Meant for serious students and scholars, this book requires a working knowledge of Greek, and will greatly reward those readers of ancient languages, Irish philologist and Anglican archbishop RICHARD CHENEVIX TRENCH (1807-1886) is best remembered for his work The Study of Words. Through his writing, he aimed to show how words, even single words, contained within them a complete story, a history that even had moral implications. His other published works include English Past and Present (1855) and A Select Glossary of English Words (1859).

Book excerpt: The Bible can be hard to understand. To many of us, it often does seem like a crazy book. But, according to the authors of Crazy Book, the crazy book we call the Bible actually teaches us the sanity that we need. The sanity that lets us know who God is, who we are in light of God's love, and where God's love can be found and experienced. Very similar in tone and organization to Crazy Talk, the authors of Crazy Book unleash their passion, faith, and humor. This time they have their sights on the Bible and biblical terms, and they don't hold back. Here, they've elected to focus on major people, events, places, books, and types of literature in the Bible, communicating the life-giving truth of the Bible via often knock-em-dead humor. Book excerpt: So much theology is confusing and intimidating. The concepts themselves are given weighty-sounding names, such as incarnation and justification, and the explanations of the concepts sometimes can be more confusing than the names. Ê Captivating, entertaining, and highly informative,ÊCrazy TalkÊhelps readers navigate their way through that complexity and offers a vocabulary that dares (and equips!) its readers to embrace their own faith in a new, well-informed way. Ê The purpose ofÊCrazy Talk,Êsays editor Rolf A. Jacobson, is to render the heart of our Christian theology in a form that is accessible and appealing to everyone. The format of the book is similar to that of a dictionary of theological terms, but with a twist of humor! Each entry includes the name of the theological term, an ironic definition of the term, and a short humorous essay offering a fuller explanation of the term. In making the term understandable, Jacobson concentrates on the big theological issue that is at stake in the term and why it matters.
