Yet trouble and temptation lurk around every corner. Here, Tinker hazards an alternative Britain, runs into an unusual outlaw club, and turns tables on a temptress. The book provides a reliable overall survey of the birth of a movement, tracing the genesis and development of the first English folksong revival.
