Yet he’s totally caught off guard when Tempest Wright, a popular radio show host, blows into the county fair with her eight-year-old boy and his Angus yearling in tow. Her son’s bull has become so cantankerous that he’s about to get them kicked out of 4-H, and Tempest is served an ultimatum—either get expert training from Dixon, or they can kiss the county fair goodbye. For the sake of her son, relationship-phobic Tempest has no choice but to trust this drop-dead gorgeous cowboy whose killer charm makes her want to head for the hills. Yet with a little magical help from Granny Tinker, Dixon shows Tempest a whole new world where love is real on the range, second chances are worth fighting for, and only the toughest cowboys survive—because they know how to stay. Book excerpt: THE NUMBER ONE BESTSELLING HILARIOUS NEW BOOK FROM THE NATION'S FAVOURITE COMEDIAN, BILLY CONNOLLY Being a Rambling Man was what I always wanted to be, to live the way I damn well pleased. I've met the weirdest and most wonderful people who walk the Earth, seen the most bizarre and the most fantastic sights - and I've rarely come across something I couldn't get a laugh at. I don't think I've ever had a bad trip. Well, apart from in the 1970s, but that's a whole other story . . . When Billy set out from Glasgow as a young man he never looked back. He played his banjo on boats and trains, under trees, and on top of famous monuments. He danced naked in snow, wind and fire. He slept in bus stations, under bridges and on strangers' floors. He travelled by foot, bike, ship, plane, sleigh - even piggy-backed - to get to his next destination. Billy has wandered to every corner of the earth and believes that being a Rambling Man is about more than just travelling - it's a state of mind. Rambling Men and Women are free spirits who live on their wits, are interested in people and endlessly curious about the world. They love to play music, make art or tell stories along the way but, above all, they have a longing in their heart for the open road. In his joyful new book, Billy explores this philosophy and how it has shaped him, and he shares hilarious new stories from his lifetime on the road. From riding his trike down America's famous Route 66, building an igloo on an iceberg in the Arctic, playing elephant polo (badly) in Nepal and crashing his motorbike (more than once), to eating witchetty grubs in Australia, being serenaded by a penguin in New Zealand, and swapping secrets in a traditional Sweat Lodge ritual in Canada, Rambling Man is a truly global adventure with the greatest possible travel companion.

Ranjit found the village full of natural beauties, simple men and women, deprivation, lack of education, inequality, superstitions, caste wise discrimination, exploitation. He started writing poems in bengali at the age of 13. His resources, at the outset, were stories of the mahabharata mainly and also from the ramayana. He got his masters and ph.D., in science from the most reputed university and institution in india, located in kolkata. Though by nature he was more inclined to literature. Ranjit thinks, all said and done, love and politics would determine the flow of life in the society everywhere. The total back ground would ever be nature. Nature, man, society are interlinked. And they constantly interact. The readers are expected to find these interactions in his poems.

Book Arden Grey

Download or read book Arden Grey written by Ray Stoeve and published by Abrams. This book was released on 2022-04-26 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An insightful, raw YA novel about a young photographer navigating toxic relationships and how they influence her identity Sixteen-year-old Arden Grey is struggling. Her mother has left their family, her father and her younger brother won't talk about it, and a classmate, Tanner, keeps harassing her about her sexuality—which isn't even public. (She knows she likes girls romantically, but she thinks she might be asexual.) At least she's got her love of film photography and her best and only friend, Jamie, to help her cope. Then Jamie, who is trans, starts dating Caroline, and suddenly he isn't so reliable. Arden's insecurity about their friendship grows. She starts to wonder if she's jealous or if Jamie's relationship with Caroline is somehow unhealthy—and it makes her reconsider how much of her relationship with her absent mom wasn't okay, too. Filled with big emotions, first loves, and characters navigating toxic relationships, Ray Stoeve's honest and nuanced novel is about finding your place in the world and seeking out the love and community that you deserve.

Book The Thoughts of a Rambling Heart

Download or read book The Thoughts of a Rambling Heart written by Gregg Battaglia and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2007-03 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: (paperback) Over the past nine years I have been writing about my own perception of the world. My world being the love I have had, the love I received, and the tragedies of it all. The only way that I know how to satisfy the demons in my head is to let them out on paper. As I grow older I have learned the things we take for granted and the value of true love. The emotions we share with another are more than a random encounter and true feelings should only be reserved for the few people who deserve it. This book although has taken nine years to write it is only about four people who have impacted my life so greatly. I hope they know how much they meant to me, and the footprints they left in my heart. I find these to be the very things we all seem to be too afraid to share with others thinking that we will just get hurt. With that said I am guilty of this myself as the four people this book was written about have never read any of this. I hope you enjoy the book and maybe learn from my mistakes.

Book Rambling on Saint Martin

  • Author : Gérard M. Hunt
  • Publisher : Trafford Publishing
  • Release : 2010-04-06
  • ISBN : 1426900473
  • Pages : 291 pages

Download or read book Rambling on Saint Martin written by Gérard M. Hunt and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04-06 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grard M. Hunt is a man without a country, trying to piece together in essays, editorials and scholarship a country of his own from three quite separate nations: French Colonial by birth and upbringing; United States by military service and higher education; and Canada by profession in teaching and scholarship. The three have by no means come together in a single national unity. His homing tendency seems to be towards St. Martin, but St. Martin is itself an amalgam a clump of volcanic earth still divided, for no good reason, between two independent sovereigns thousands of miles away. He is a unitary citizen without an integrated polity. (...) Many of Grards essays are grave and penetrating trials. Many are sentimental catching up with childhood comrades, sharing grief over a lost friend or relative. Several of these discourses are critiques of the wayward tendencies of French efforts to govern Saint-Martin from Paris through Guadeloupe. The most serious and extensive of essays aim at encouraging a greater sense of historical awareness and of community solidarity among St. Martiners ...
