Book Time and Space Weight and Inertia

Download or read book Time and Space Weight and Inertia written by A. D. Fokker and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-09-17 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Time and Space Weight and Inertia covers the relationship between time, space weight, and inertia using the principles of theory of relativity and chronogeometry. This book is composed of 12 chapters, and begins with a brief overview of the fundamental aspects of space and time within events. The subsequent chapters deal with the chronogeometry of time and space, and the concept of the Lorentz transformations and pseudo-revolutions. These topics are followed by discussions on the dynamical relationships of metric and other tensors and a presentation of the equations of the theory of electrons. The remaining chapters describe the unique value of the acceleration in free fall, geodesic coordinates carried along in free fall, and the field equations, as well as the so-called curving of light rays. This book will prove useful to physicists and mathematicians.

Book excerpt: This book focuses on the phenomena of inertia and gravitation, one objective being to shed some new light on the basic laws of gravitational interaction and the fundamental nature and structures of spacetime. Chapter 1 is devoted to an extensive, partly new analysis of the law of inertia. The underlying mathematical and geometrical structure of Newtonian spacetime is presented from a four-dimensional point of view, and some historical difficulties and controversies - in particular the concepts of free particles and straight lines - are critically analyzed, while connections to projective geometry are also explored. The relativistic extensions of the law of gravitation and its intriguing consequences are studied in Chapter 2. This is achieved, following the works of Weyl, Ehlers, Pirani and Schild, by adopting a point of view of the combined conformal and projective structure of spacetime. Specifically, Mach’s fundamental critique of Newton’s concepts of ‘absolute space’ and ‘absolute time’ was a decisive motivation for Einstein’s development of general relativity, and his equivalence principle provided a new perspective on inertia. In Chapter 3 the very special mathematical structure of Einstein’s field equations is analyzed, and some of their remarkable physical predictions are presented. By analyzing different types of dragging phenomena, Chapter 4 reviews to what extent the equivalence principle is realized in general relativity - a question intimately connected to the ‘new force’ of gravitomagnetism, which was theoretically predicted by Einstein and Thirring but which was only recently experimentally confirmed and is thus of current interest.

Book Physics from the Edge

Download or read book Physics from the Edge written by Michael Edward McCulloch and published by World Scientific Publishing Company Incorporated. This book was released on 2014 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fundamental and very important property of inertia has never been well understood. This book shows how inertia has puzzled many scientists such as Galileo and Mach, and then presents a new theory that explains inertia for the first time, and also predicts galaxy rotation without dark matter, cosmic acceleration and some other anomalies. Further evidence for, and tests of, the theory are presented and exciting applications such as new inertial launch methods and the theoretical possibility of faster than light travel will be discussed. To allow readers to use the theory themselves, some simple maths is included, and to help explain the points made, there are numerous cartoons by the author.

Book Dimensional Properties of Time and Space The Physical Universe

Download or read book Dimensional Properties of Time and Space The Physical Universe written by Ogaeze Francis and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2024-05-23 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scientific Study from the year 2024 in the subject Physics - General, , course: Physics, language: English, abstract: According to some religions the universe was formed by the voice of God through the Holy Spirit. Christianity says the Holy Spirit hovered around the empty void until God spoke “LET THERE BE LIGHT”. In the ECKANKAR religion the Holy Spirit or the ECK flows from the heart of God (infinity) and sustains all things in the dimensions of space and time. We know a voice is a wave or a disturbance in a system. Using this ideas, this work provides a scientific framework that proves their validity, reexamining concepts we already know as valid while introducing a few. Introducing a whole new way to see and understand the physical universe from the very small to the very large.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Einstein's standard and battle-tested geometric theory of gravity--spacetime tells mass how to move and mass tells spacetime how to curve--is expounded in this book by Ignazio Ciufolini and John Wheeler. They give special attention to the theory's observational checks and to two of its consequences: the predicted existence of gravitomagnetism and the origin of inertia (local inertial frames) in Einstein's general relativity: inertia here arises from mass there. The authors explain the modern understanding of the link between gravitation and inertia in Einstein's theory, from the origin of inertia in some cosmological models of the universe, to the interpretation of the initial value formulation of Einstein's standard geometrodynamics; and from the devices and the methods used to determine the local inertial frames of reference, to the experiments used to detect and measure the "dragging of inertial frames of reference." In this book, Ciufolini and Wheeler emphasize present, past, and proposed tests of gravitational interaction, metric theories, and general relativity. They describe the numerous confirmations of the foundations of geometrodynamics and some proposed experiments, including space missions, to test some of its fundamental predictions--in particular gravitomagnetic field or "dragging of inertial frames" and gravitational waves.

Book excerpt: The Cause of Gravity: The Holy Grail of all Scientific Revelation For over four centuries now, Natural Philosophers and Theoretical Physicists have been desperately searching for the answer to that elusive and intractable question that is still hanging around today: "What is the true cause of Gravity?" The present-day view by Theoretical Physics Academia is that gravity can be described as: "curved, or warped, space, or spacetime." So, how does this space, or spacetime, curve, or warp? Do certain particles of space get closer together in one vicinity of space and further apart in another? Are there compressions and rarefactions in space like there are in air? How can empty space form a path for a moving object to travel through if it is completely empty? The answer is that: Space is NOT empty. According to a brand-new type of physics called: "Reality Physics", we now know that space is not empty but contains an "active" plenum structure that is continually being created by the "active", two-dimensional, outward motion of Time with Space. What this actually means is that the "Now Point" in Time expands outward into space with an "active", two-dimensional, omnidirectional, omnipositional displacement at the Speed of Light, or: "c" = 299, 792, 458 meters per second, and that it also forms an "inertial reference background pressure density" throughout the universe. We find that by placing a body of mass into this active inertial reference background pressure density we can create a vicinity of "less active pressure density" at that location where the mass is located. This would, obviously, cause the greater pressure density surrounding the mass to implode with an "accelerating motion" down towards the surface of the mass body where the pressure density is less. We call this implosively accelerating motion of the inertial reference background: "Gravitational Acceleration", and this is what actually causes small objects to "fall to the ground" at the surface of the large body of mass. Gravity is an "action", not a curvature or warpage of anything, and therefore it must be caused by an "action", as revealed here by: "ACTION GRAVITY" of Reality Physics.
