Download or read book Bioethics Education in a Global Perspective written by Henk A.M.J. ten Have and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-09-25 with total page 221 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book critically analyses experiences with bioethics education in various countries across the world and identifies common challenges and interests. It presents ethics teaching experiences in nine different countries and the basic question of the goals of bioethics education. It addresses bioethics education in resource-poor countries, as the conditions and facilities are widely different and set limits and provide challenges to bioethics educators. Further, the question of how bioethics education can be improved is explored by the contributors. Despite the volume of journal publications agreement on bioethics education is rather limited. There are only few examples of core curricula, demonstrating consensus on the contents, goals, methods and assessment of teaching programs. We need ask: How can agreement on the best modalities of bioethics education be promoted?.

Download or read book Comparative Metaethics written by Colin Marshall and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-10-10 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of original essays explores metaethical views from outside the mainstream European tradition. The guiding motivation is that important discussions about the ultimate nature of morality can be found far beyond ancient Greece and modern Europe. The volume’s aim is to show how rich the possibilities are for comparative metaethics, and how much these comparisons offer challenges and new perspectives to contemporary analytic metaethics. Representing five continents, the thinkers discussed range from ancient Egyptian, ancient Chinese, and the Mexican (Aztec) cultures to more recent thinkers like Augusto Salazar Bondy, Bimal Krishna Matilal, Nishida Kitarō, and Susan Sontag. The philosophical topics discussed include religious language, moral discovery, moral disagreement, essences’ relation to evaluative facts, metaphysical harmony and moral knowledge, naturalism, moral perception, and quasi-realism. This volume will be of interest to anyone interested in metaethics or comparative philosophy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mexican food, Tex-Mex, Southwestern cuisine—call it what you will, the foods that originated in Mexico have become everyone's favorites. Yet as we dig into nachos and enchiladas, many people worry about the fats and calories that traditional Mexican food contains. Deleites de la Cocina Mexicana proves that Mexican cooking can be both delicious and healthy. In this bilingual cookbook, Maria Luisa Urdaneta and Daryl F. Kanter provide over 200 recipes for some of the most popular Mexican dishes-guacamole, frijoles, Spanish rice, chiles rellenos, chile con carne, chalupas, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, menudo, tamales, and flan-to name only a few. Without sacrificing a bit of flavor, the authors have modified the recipes to increase complex carbohydrates and total dietary fiber, while decreasing saturated and total fats. These modifications make the recipes suitable for people with diabetes-and all those who want to reduce the fats and calories in their diet. Each recipe also includes a nutritional analysis of calories, fats, sodium, etc., and American Diabetic Association exchange rates. Because diabetes is a growing problem in the Mexican-American community, Deleites de la Cocina Mexicana is vital for all those who need to manage their diet without giving up the foods they love. Let it be your one-stop guide to cooking and eating guilt-free Mexican food.
