This book was released on 2016-10-15 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Father Arintero attained great renown in his native Spain for his profound learning and his personal sanctity. Because of his success as the champion of the true traditional doctrine in mystical theology, he is acclaimed the precursor of the current movement toward the realization of mystical ideals. To forestall any criticism of Father Arintero's style and method of procedure, let it be remembered that he looked upon the sublime truths of the supernatural life as one would gaze upon a precious stone, turning it this way and that to catch its full brilliance and luster. There may be some persons who will question the wisdom of including excerpts from the writings of modem mystics that as yet are unknown to most readers. Many of these souls were under the guidance of Father Arintero, and he saw in their experiences the perpetual vitality of the mystical power of the Church. He uses them, then, to show that the heights of the mystical life are by no means a relic of the past, but that there are souls even today who have scaled and are scaling the mount of perfection. I here express my deep gratitude to the Very Reverend Father Provincial of the Province of Spain, who gave permission for this English translation of La Evoluci6n Mistica; to the Very Reverend Father Peter O'Brien, O.P., Provincial of the Province of St. Albert the Great, for his kindly interest and unfailing encouragement; to Father Vitalis Fueyo, O.P., of Avila, Spain, for his careful reading, and checking of the entire translation; and to the Very Reverend Father Sabino Lozano, O.P., of Salamanca, Spain, for his helpful advice. Finally, acknowledgment and gratitude must be voiced to the following publishers and individuals for permission to quote from their works: Mr. Allison Peers, London, and Sheed and Ward, New York and London, for quotations from the Complete Works of Saint Teresa; Bcnziger Brothers, New York, and Burns Oates and Washbourne, London: the English version of the Summa theologica and the Summa contra Gentiles; Newman Bookshop, Westminster, Maryland: Lallemant's Spiritual Doctrine; Mr. Allison Peers, Burns Oates and Washbourne, Newman Bookshop: Complete Works of St.John of the Cross; Mr. Louis Bernicken, Mt. Vernon, Ohio: the Ven. Mary Agreda's The City of God; Rev. Father Anselm Townsend, O.P., Oak Park, Illinois, translator of Gardeil's The Gifts of the Holy Ghost in the Dominican Saints; Routledge and Kegan Paul, London: Poulain's The Graces of Interior Prayer; B. Herder Book Co., St. Louis, Missouri: Tixeront's History of Dogmas and Caussade's Abandonment to Divine Providence. The quotations from Froget's The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit are reprinted with permission of the copyright owners, the Missionary Society of St. Paul the Apostle in the State of New York. May this book serve as an impetus to those who are still timid about venturing into the realms of the supernatural life. May it clarify the problems and difficulties which beset those who are well along the way and those whose task it is to direct such souls.

Book Slaves of Satan

Download or read book Slaves of Satan written by Patrick Ryan Bell and published by TrineDay. This book was released on 2024-05-02 with total page 595 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Slaves of Satan is an extraordinary book that looks at the darkest corners of the human and diabolical mind and answers the question of why. Why do human beings commit some of the most horrific, appalling, and unspeakable acts known to man. What is it that drives these evil people; serial killers, cult leaders, occultists, and dictators to leave a trail of murder, violence, sexual depravity, and total unmitigated destruction in their wake. Author Patrick Bell through years of extensive research has done a deep dive into one of religions most controversial and terrifying subjects, diabolical possession, and the most serious and horrifying form of it known as Perfect Possession. When a human being has given themselves, their intellect, mind, will and body, their very souls over completely to the source of all evil, Lucifer. The author examines the theology and church teaching behind perfect possession, the three types of it, who it occurs to and why and then examines people from history (Slaves of Satan) who were perfectly possessed including serial killers, dictators, the international occult elite and the diabolical deeds and destruction they have perpetrated, led on by their master the devil, upon the human race.

Book The Life of Mary As Seen by the Mystics

It includes such fascinating details as the birth and infancy of Mary, her espousal to St. Joseph and her Assumption into Heaven where she was crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. For young and old alike, The Life of Mary As Seen by the Mystics will forever impress the reader with an inspiring and truly unforgettable understanding of the otherwise unknown facts concerning Mary and the Holy Family.

Book Cradle of Redeeming Love

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following up on his acclaimed Redeemer in the Womb, John Saward returns to the mystery of Christ's Incarnation. He draws upon the rich traditions of the Church, as well as the writings of the great Christian mystics, to create a work that is both new and old, revolutionary and orthodox. This profoundly moving meditation will aid any contemplation on the life of Christ. The subject of this book is the objective and divinely revealed truth of the Nativity of Christ, as proclaimed by His infallible and immaculate Bride. It is the splendor of this truth, of "Love's noon in Nature's night", which for two millennia has captivated the Fathers and Schoolmen, and activated the genius of poets, painters, and musicians. Illustrated with eight color paintings. "Combines Saward's usual profundity and precision with a treasure-trove of texts from the tradition. A comphrehensive exposition of the Christmas mystery. Anyone wanting to know the true meaning of the Incarnation and Christmas need look no further." -Aidan Nichols, O.P., Author, Looking at the Liturgy "A profound theological meditation on the Incarnation as an anticipation of the joy in heaven." -Fr. Kenneth Baker, Editor, Homiletic and Pastoral Review "John Saward is on my very short list of preeminently important twentieth-century Catholic writers. His writing is always profound, original, and clear." -Thomas Howard, Author, On Being Catholic
