Download or read book Through Trials to Glory written by Loraine Kelly and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-11-19 with total page 279 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A memoir about my life as the wife of Richard Kelly, trying to make sense of the trials we endured, and about survival after it all fell apart. Those who knew Richard Kelly will have unanswered questions about his downfall, which became a personal tragedy and an American tragedy. Nothing in his life would have forecasted the outcome. He spent most of his remaining years searching for as many details of the organized plot to destroy him as he could, looking for justice and struggling to live with the aftermath of the bomb that went off in the middle of his life. Kelly was conducting his own investigation after he realized he was surrounded by shady characters who were exposed as convicted felons hired by the FBI. The FBI was duty bound to protect him as a member of Congress. What led the FBI to focus on Kelly? The better question would be, who led the FBI to focus on Kelly? Trials will come. Life is tough, but God is good. Trials are not an opposition to our happiness but an opportunity for holiness and maturity, which can lead to true joy.

Book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 47

Download or read book The Complete Works of C H Spurgeon Volume 47 written by Spurgeon, Charles H. and published by Delmarva Publications, Inc.. This book was released on with total page 888 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Volume 47 Sermons 2708-2759 Charles Spurgeon (19 June 1834 – 31 January 1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s foremost prolific writers. Called the “Prince of Preachers,” he was one of England's most notable ministers for most of the second half of the nineteenth century, and he still remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations today. His sermons have spread all over the world, and his many printed works have been cherished classics for decades. In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to more than 10 million people, often up to ten times each week. He was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years. He was an inexhaustible author of various kinds of works including sermons, commentaries, an autobiography, as well as books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more. Spurgeon was known to produce powerful sermons of penetrating thought and divine inspiration, and his oratory and writing skills held his audiences spellbound. Many Christians have discovered Spurgeon's messages to be among the best in Christian literature. Edward Walford wrote in Old and New London: Volume 6 (1878) quoting an article from the Times regarding one of Spurgeon’s meetings at Surrey: “Fancy a congregation consisting of 10,000 souls, streaming into the hall, mounting the galleries, humming, buzzing, and swarming—a mighty hive of bees—eager to secure at first the best places, and, at last, any place at all. After waiting more than half an hour—for if you wish to have a seat you must be there at least that space of time in advance—Mr. Spurgeon ascended his tribune. To the hum, and rush, and trampling of men, succeeded a low, concentrated thrill and murmur of devotion, which seemed to run at once, like an electric current, through the breast of every one present, and by this magnetic chain the preacher held us fast bound for about two hours. It is not my purpose to give a summary of his discourse. It is enough to say of his voice, that its power and volume are sufficient to reach every one in that vast assembly; of his language, that it is neither high-flown nor homely; of his style, that it is at times familiar, at times declamatory, but always happy, and often eloquent; of his doctrine, that neither the 'Calvinist' nor the 'Baptist' appears in the forefront of the battle which is waged by Mr. Spurgeon with relentless animosity, and with Gospel weapons, against irreligion, cant, hypocrisy, pride, and those secret bosom-sins which so easily beset a man in daily life; and to sum up all in a word, it is enough to say of the man himself, that he impresses you with a perfect conviction of his sincerity.” More than a hundred years after his death, Charles Spurgeon’s legacy continues to effectively inspire the church around the world. For this reason, Delmarva Publications has chosen to publish the complete works of Charles Spurgeon.

Book The Living under God s Governmental Administration in His Salvation and the Provisions of the Divine Life

Download or read book The Living under God s Governmental Administration in His Salvation and the Provisions of the Divine Life written by Witness Lee and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In his Epistles, Peter emphasizes God’s government. Whereas Paul’s ministry speaks mainly of the Body of Christ and John’s ministry speaks mainly of the house of God, Peter’s ministry speaks mainly of the kingdom of God, that is, of all matters related to God’s governmental administration. His Epistles substantially and comprehensively speak of how God’s hand in His governmental administration accomplishes His desire in us, and they speak deeply and with much application to our actual condition. If we want to know God in our practical living and walk and know God’s hand and His work upon us, we must know the content of the Epistles of Peter.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book aims to inspire the reader to trust completely in God and His promises and to never give up no matter the circumstances one is going through. Through personal testimony, the author is honoring God for His faithfulness through the many trials and tribulations that he has been and continues to go through. The book is therapeutic and has an internal purpose, as it helps the reader (and certainly the author) to heal from past wounds (by mourning previous loss, communicating frustrations, and expressing feelings). It also helps to maintain hope that one can go through trials and tribulations by focusing on the positive things of life and growing in faith, moving on and believing in GodaEUR(tm)s promises no matter the circumstances one is in. The book notes that people who suffer immensely are chosen people who God wants to use and that the severity of the suffering to the individual can be equated to the extent to which God wants to use that individual. The writer, reflecting on his life, makes it clear that pain and suffering are guaranteed but that one can go through it all if one puts his/her trust completely in the Lord. The book is intended for every reader, and it is envisaged that it will especially appeal to many who are going through pain and suffering of whatever kind and severity and are looking for solutions in a godly way. Because the book is written in a very personal way, it is likely to touch the hearts of many.

Book The Cross Before the Crown

Download or read book The Cross Before the Crown written by Ernest LeVos and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2016-09-07 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Haddon Spurgeon (18341892), as his sermons and expositions testify, treasured the last words of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. In his ministry, Spurgeon made the whole life of Christ worth beholding: His life, death, resurrection, and His work as the heavenly mediator. In his book, The Cross before the Crown: Charles Spurgeon on Christs Last Words on the Cross, the author brings together twenty-two sermons and six expositions by Spurgeon; one sermon by Octavius Winslow (18081878), and one selection by Matthew Henry (16621714) from his Commentary. Meant to be used as a devotional, this book will help you develop a deeper understanding of Christs ultimate sacrifice for us, His believers. In his sermons, with the effective ministration of the Holy Spirit (Spurgeon leaned very heavily on the aid of the Spirit), he constantly exalted the One greater than all the patriarchs, prophets, priests, and princesses. The Cross before the Crown: Charles Spurgeon on Christs Last Words of the Cross is a testament to Spurgeons power as the Prince of Preachers.
