Book excerpt: In this new book by Tony Cooke, he outlines three different storms in the Bible, why they came and how they got through. Jonahs storm, the Disciples storm and Pauls storm. Jonahs storm came in the midst of disobedience and he got out of his storm through repentance and consecration to do the will of God. Because he was delivered from his storm, Jonah made it to Ninevah and delivered Gods message and the people were spared. In the disciples storm, it came in the midst of perfect obedience. They got out of their storm when spiritual authority was exercised and the command of faith was spoken. The disciples brought Jesus to the other side and a demoniac was set free. The third storm outlined was Pauls storm and his came through the disobedience of others. He got out of his storm through perseverance and enduring faith. Paul made it to Rome and the gospel was presented to Cesar. No matter what kind of storm you are going through in life, you can persevere, survive and overcome and lead out the plan God has for you.

Book We Speak in Storms

Download or read book We Speak in Storms written by Natalie Lund and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2019-09-03 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A powerful and haunting debut novel about friendship, acceptance, and learning to let go as the balance between the living and the dead is upended, perfect for fans of We Were Liars. It's been more than 50 years since a tornado tore through a drive-in movie theater in tiny Mercer, Illinois, leaving dozens of teens -- a whole generation of Mercerites -- dead in its wake. So when another tornado touches down in the exact same spot on the anniversary of this small-town tragedy, the town is shaken. For Brenna Ortiz, Joshua Calloway, and Callie Keller, the apprehension is more than just a feeling. Though they seem to share nothing more than a struggle to belong, the teens' paths continue to intersect, bringing them together when they least expect it, and perhaps, when they need it most. Both the living and the dead have secrets and unresolved problems, but they may be able to find peace and move forward--if only they work together. A beautifully told, haunting yet hopeful novel about pushing past the pain, facing the world, and finding yourself. Praise for We Speak in Storms: "A hauntingly atmospheric coming-of-age story . . . with fully realized characters, an empowering message, and a highly satisfying conclusion." --SLJ "A lingering, quietly paced story about the echoes of trauma and the persistence of hope." --Booklist "This suspenseful novel . . . immediately grabs the reader's attention . . . [Readers] will be eager to find out what happens next." --SLC

In Beyond the Storm, Debra Morton reveals why, providing the techniques and strategies that helped her and many others not only survive but also thrive, even in the most painful of circumstances. While ministering to victims of Hurricane Katrina and grieving the death of her granddaughter, Morton realized that the key to pushing forward in the midst of setbacks was having a defined set of coping skills. That playbook is here for you to use immediately, along with interactive tools, journaling questions, and scripture studies that will guide you through pain and struggle and into strength and victory once again. Book excerpt: Mitch Dobrowner has been chasing storms since 2005. Working with professional storm chaser Roger Hill, Dobrowner has traveled throughout Western and Midwestern America to capture nature in its full fury, making extraordinary images of monsoons, tornados, and massive thunderstorms with the highest standard of craftsmanship and in the tradition of Ansel Adams. Dobrowner, a graphic designer by trade, says, As I researched the subject of storm systems and how they formed, I came to appreciate the complexity of these large structured super-cellsmassive storms with deep, rotating updrafts that sometimes spawn tornadoes. As a photographer, I always count myself lucky to get to the right place at the right time. Dobrowners storm series has attracted considerable media interest (National Geographic, Time, New York Times Magazine, among others) and is presented in Storms in a deluxe, largeformat yet affordable edition. However, as believers, we don't have to feel helpless or hopeless. God has established powerful principles and strategies to help us thrive (not just survive) in the midst of life's challenges. In the Bible, Jonah, the Disciples, and Paul all faced storms at sea. The storms came for different reasons and deliverance came in diverse ways. Most importantly, they all got through their storms and made it to the other side. There, destinies were fulfilled and God s blessings were realized. God wants the same for you! As you explore the principles in this book, you will find: * Peace in knowing that God is committed to you and your welfare * Tenacity to cling to God in spite of great challenges * Resilience to bounce back from the trials of life * Courage to move forward with purpose and conviction * Assurance and strength for your life through the promise of Isaiah 54:17, which says, No weapon formed against you shall prosper... Whatever adversity you face, God's Word will help you navigate through the storms of life and arrive successfully at your other side where trials give way to triumph.

Book How Prayer Can Walk You Through the Storms in Your Life

This book was released on 2021-06-04 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Prayer is about having a personal relationship with God, meeting the King on a daily basis. God wants to be a part of your life. He knew about your pain before it occurred, and He knows when it will end. Take God at His word and hold on to His promises. Your life will never be the same. God has provided everything we need to walk through our journey with success. This journey through life is not about having sunshine every day; if we do not experience the difficult things in life, we will not learn how to appreciate the good and bad. When we are in a storm, we must learn how to ask God, “Why am I in this storm, and what is it that You want me to learn from it?” A spiritual storm is a trial, tragedy, or misfortune. The storms have a purpose in our lives, and when you stay on board, God will reveal the purpose at His timing. Storms can either make us or break us, depending on how we respond. Storms are considered a training process for God’s children. He uses the storms to shape us into who He wants us to be. Stay tuned to an amazing journey with God.
