Book excerpt: This is a book of history, ethics, and philosophy. It is a record of teachings passed down through the generations from the East and the West. It contains the fullness of the sealed covenant established between man and the laws of the universe. As we evolve as a race, we take things out of our lives because we better understand who we are and what we have achieved. The divine refers to the laws of nature and the universe that guide us in our everyday lives. The creator that guides our everyday lives is not something that we should worship or pray to out of fear or love; it is something that remains unseen and works in natural forces to explain all the events that happen on Earth. It is merely a force and it is not necessary to belong to a group to experience the light. The path to the light is straight and broad. The creator of the universe is a divine and intellectual force, by which all things came into being. The sealed covenant is a pact between all of humanity to the world around us and the universal laws that guide our everyday lives to come together and love one another and come to make the world a better place for all people. This shall usher in the evolution of religious traditions and humanity to a new age of prosperity.

Book excerpt: Merlyn's Mind completes the original trilogy of segmented story-dreams by the sixth century Merlyn, the Scotsman. The Present, real time story-dream brothers, Robert the poet and Richard the writer, continue their theoretical discussions in real time from May 2007 into late February 2008. The Past, with Grandma's Stories begin with Lady Allowyn and Sir Geoffrey in the sixteenth century and works her way into the twentieth century where Grandma Earth ends her genealogical narratives with the nineteen year olds Robert and Richard Graystone and their future wives, Connie and Cindy Bleacher, at the dining room table celebrating the late FDR's January birthday with their respective parents and grandparents, first in 1960, then again in 1961. Thus, old Grandma completes word-filled human snapshots, fruitfully linking the Graystone and Bleacher generations from 12,000 years ago in the first book to the present, 2008, in the third book. Merlyn's suggestive Future, titled 'Pouch Text, ' concludes with all the major characters alive but one. The family group ( a mixture of human beings and their physically and mentally human-like marsupial counterparts from HomePlanets across the Milky Way galaxy) focus on raising seven year old Diplomat, a hybrid of both species and cultures, on Earth.

Presenting a richly interdisciplinary and collaborative investigation of the arts in practice, this volume opens up new ways of thinking about the performance of psychologies, and about how psychologies perform.

Book Democratic Vernaculars

Download or read book Democratic Vernaculars written by J Michael Sproule and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-02-13 with total page 350 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Democratic Vernaculars is a comprehensive, culturally inclusive, and thematically unified history of the communicative, audience-centered rhetorical vernacular that occupies the “middle range” of English, bounded on the one side by expressive structure (grammar and linguistics) and on the other by aesthetics (literature). Broadening the history of rhetoric by considering a vast collection of vernacular resources such as elementary grammars and readers, popular guidebooks, textbooks, and rhetorical treatises, this book advances the history of the rhetorical theory and pedagogy since the 17th century by examining ways in which diverse vectors of the rhetorical vernacular coalesced to produce an English language sufficiently idiomatic for practical social exchange while being, at the same time, suitable for higher literary, scholarly, and cultural pursuits. Democratic Vernaculars is essential reading for scholars in rhetoric and the histories of language and education, and can serve as a text for upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses in rhetoric.

These smiles, and even occasional bouts of silliness, create a momentum of hope for eventual Redemption. The author’s path to that healing port is a long and precarious one.
