Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Loss and grief go hand in hand with one another like peanut butter and jelly. A strange comparison, but so true. When experiencing loss, one must allow themselves to work through the stages of grief. Some work it out quickly and move on, others take longer. It took me almost fi fty-nine years. Loss has followed me throughout my life and grief has become an old friend that has overstayed it's welcome. Only recently have I dealt with some of these losses that have held me back and caused me to make some egregious mistakes in my life. Some I am still paying the bill for. You wonder why you are "allowed" to go through things and endure such pain. I had to stop abusing myself and ask, "God what are you trying to teach me? Why, why, why?" The answer was obvious, "Now, that you have been taught, it's time to teach others." I wrote this book in order to help others recognize grief and a road map to find a path to hope. God forgives. Humans have to learn to forgive. People hold it over their own heads, and still others will use it to beat you over your own head in order to control you. You have to recognize the diff erences. I have taken a leap and put my sorted past out there for the masses in order to help others.

Book When You Can t Believe Your Eyes

Download or read book When You Can t Believe Your Eyes written by Hannah Fairbairn and published by Charles C Thomas Publisher. This book was released on 2019-07-05 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was first projected in 2004, when Author Hannah Fairbairn was teaching interpersonal skills at the Carroll Center for the Blind in Newton, Massachusetts. The experiences of her adult students—and her own experience of sight lost—convinced her that everyone losing vision needs access to good information about the process of adjustment to losing sight and practical ways to use assertive speech. When You Can’t Believe Your Eyes is intended for anyone going through vision loss, their friends, and families. It will inform readers how to get expert professional help, face the trauma of loss, and navigate the world using speech more than sight. Each of the twelve chapters in the book contain many short sections and bullet-point lists, intended to facilitate access to the right information. It begins where you begin—at the doctor’s office or the hospital. Since vision loss takes many forms, there are suggestions for questions you might ask to get a clear diagnosis and the best treatment. Part One also has a description of legal blindness and possible prevention, advice about your job, and tips for life at home. Part Two is about believing in yourself as you deal with the loss, the anger, and the fear before you come up for air and consider training. Parts Three and Four describe using assertive speech and action in all kinds of settings as your independence and confidence increase. Part Five gives detailed information about everything from dating, and caring for babies to senior living, volunteering, and retaining your job. It is hoped that by reading and trying out the suggestions, the reader will recover full confidence, become a positive, assertive communicator, and lead a satisfying life. Because vision loss happens mostly in older years, the book is written with seniors particularly in mind. Professionals will also find it to be a useful resource for their patients.

Book Lost Orthodoxy Paternal Light Heart of the Gospel through the Eyes of the Kings of Christian Theology St Justin Martyr and St Irenaeous of Lyons

Download or read book Lost Orthodoxy Paternal Light Heart of the Gospel through the Eyes of the Kings of Christian Theology St Justin Martyr and St Irenaeous of Lyons written by Jonathan Ramachandran and published by AnonymousChristian.Org. This book was released on 2018-11-24 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Lost Orthodoxy Book attempts to Research the Hope of Christ Centered Universalism by comparing Bible Verses to the Exegesis done by St. Justin Martyr and St. Irenaeous of Lyons. It asserts arguments in support of the concept of ages or aeons or olams to come in St. Irenaeous' usage of these related Biblical Words together with St. Justin Martyr's harsh language regarding the punishment of the Wicked which has also been interpreted to refer to some annihilation concept. Hence the usage by these saints either implying ages or end by destruction by their language describing the punishment of the wicked may thus imply an end in reference to the original words found likewise in Holy Scripture too. The sin in the Body and Soul may thus be referred to as eternally destroyed where the damaged soul and spirit may be saved thereafter. In support of such an exegesis, some First Christianity Writings from other early Church leaders and Christian Prophecies such as the Apocalypse of Peter and the Sibyline Oracles are considered where these have a Section Describing God Saving the Wicked post Judgment after a long time as per the prayers of the Saved Christian Righteous for these to be Rescued Finally from the Lake of Fire or Gehenna itself thereby cancelling the Eternal Sentence by His Great Mercy which Triumphs over Judgment and giving these a lower place in another Eternal Life thereafter.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Come Grieve Through Our Eyes gives a clear, truthful message from those who have lost a child, to those who want to know how to be there for these grieving parents. This book opens the door into the world of bereaved parents, enabling the readers to go beyond just condolences and sympathy, but having compassion at a level that will help these devastated parents at their deepest level of need. As a bereaved parent herself, author Laura Diehl offers a glimpse into the dark pit parents find themselves thrown into after the death of their child. Some of the things you will discover are: - What almost every grieving parent fears the most - Why the normal clichés for grief can actually intensify their pain - How to know what a grieving parent needs down the road - Three times of year that are especially difficult for someone who has lost a child - How to keep your friendship strong with a bereaved parent Many people seem to think if a parent who has lost a child would just think happy thoughts about Jesus and His promises, the pain would go away and they could get back to normal. These kinds of thoughts from the people around them cause many grieving parents to isolate themselves. They shut others out, making it even more difficult for friends and family to understand their unwanted world of darkness, confusion, and pain. Those who have an understanding of how dark their world is, will be much better equipped to be able to help these shattered parents in a way that can pull them out of that darkness. If you care about someone who is experiencing this kind of pain, you will want to know how to support and help them through it. Come Grieve Through Our Eyes is the place to begin. Thank you for choosing to try and come into our world. It means a lot to us...more than we can say. -- author Laura Diehl

Book Eyes Wide Open

Download or read book Eyes Wide Open written by Isaac Lidsky and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2017-03-14 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this New York Times bestseller, Isaac Lidsky draws on his experience of achieving immense success, joy, and fulfillment while losing his sight to a blinding disease to show us that it isn’t external circumstances, but how we perceive and respond to them, that governs our reality. Fear has a tendency to give us tunnel vision—we fill the unknown with our worst imaginings and cling to what’s familiar. But when confronted with new challenges, we need to think more broadly and adapt. When Isaac Lidsky learned that he was beginning to go blind at age thirteen, eventually losing his sight entirely by the time he was twenty-five, he initially thought that blindness would mean an end to his early success and his hopes for the future. Paradoxically, losing his sight gave him the vision to take responsibility for his reality and thrive. Lidsky graduated from Harvard College at age nineteen, served as a Supreme Court law clerk, fathered four children, and turned a failing construction subcontractor into a highly profitable business. Whether we’re blind or not, our vision is limited by our past experiences, biases, and emotions. Lidsky shows us how we can overcome paralyzing fears, avoid falling prey to our own assumptions and faulty leaps of logic, silence our inner critic, harness our strength, and live with open hearts and minds. In sharing his hard-won insights, Lidsky shows us how we too can confront life's trials with initiative, humor, and grace.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's said that the eyes are the windows to the soul. Well, what would it say of your soul if your eyes had been viewing a form of hell for a span of 12 years? For the average person, they most likely would have become a reflection, or victim, of their surroundings. But, today we are not dealing with your average person. This collection of writings is a candid and vivid look into the mind, emotions, thoughts and experiences of one of Texas Death Row's most valiant, and undervalued, political prisoners. Without fear, Tony bares what makes him weak and strong, unconcerned with embarrassment or ridicule. These stories tell the tale of America's biggest contradiction. These stories tell the tale of hope and hopelessness battling each other. They tell the tale of a man who has found himself and the reason to love life intensely.
