Book Systematic Study of Three nucleon Force Effects in the Cross Section of the Deuteron proton Breakup at 130 MeV

Download or read book Systematic Study of Three nucleon Force Effects in the Cross Section of the Deuteron proton Breakup at 130 MeV written by and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High precision cross-section data of the deuteron-proton breakup reaction at 130 MeV are presented for 72 kinematically complete configurations. The data cover a large region of the available phase space, divided into a systematic grid of kinematical variables. They are compared with theoretical predictions, in which the full dynamics of the three-nucleon (3N) system is obtained in three different ways: realistic nucleon-nucleon (NN) potentials are combined with model 3N forces (3NF's) or with an effective 3NF resulting from explicit treatment of the Delta-isobar excitation. Alternatively, the chiral perturbation theory approach is used at the next-to-next-to-leading order with all relevant NN and 3N contributions taken into account. The generated dynamics is then applied to calculate cross-section values by rigorous solution of the 3N Faddeev equations. The comparison of the calculated cross sections with the experimental data shows a clear preference for the predictions in which the 3NF's are included. The majority of the experimental data points is well reproduced by the theoretical predictions. The remaining discrepancies are investigated by inspecting cross sections integrated over certain kinematical variables. The procedure of global comparisons leads to establishing regularities in disagreements between the experimental data and the theoretically predicted values of the cross sections. They indicate deficiencies still present in the assumed models of the 3N system dynamics.

Book New Facet of Three Nucleon Force 50 Years of Fujita Miyazawa Three Nucleon Force FM50

Download or read book New Facet of Three Nucleon Force 50 Years of Fujita Miyazawa Three Nucleon Force FM50 written by Hideyuki Sakai and published by American Institute of Physics. This book was released on 2008-05-20 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This symposium focused on three-nucleon force problems in nuclei. This is because the year 2007 corresponds to the 50 year anniversary of the three-nucleon force model based on the two-pion-exchange mechanism proposed by Fujita Miyazawa. Achievements of three-nucleon force studies, both in theory and in experiment, during this half century are presented and future perspectives for three-nucleon force studies pointing towards a new era are explored.

Book Recent Progress in Few Body Physics

Download or read book Recent Progress in Few Body Physics written by N. A. Orr and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-01-06 with total page 968 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few-body physics covers a rich and wide variety of phenomena, ranging from the very lowest energy scales of atomic and molecular physics to high-energy particle physics. The papers contained in the present volume provide an apercu of recent progress in the field from both the theoretical and experimental perspectives and are based on work presented at the “22nd International Conference on Few-Body Problems in Physics”. This book is geared towards academics and graduate students involved in the study of systems which present few-body characteristics and those interested in the related mathematical and computational techniques.
