Book Thoughts of a Simple Man

Download or read book Thoughts of a Simple Man written by Frank Bristow and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010-10-11 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Thoughts of a Simple Man By Frank Bristow In his new book "Thoughts of a Simple Man" (published by AuthorHouse), Frank Bristow offers a colletion of musings and ruminations on crucial aspects of modern society, offering his self-described "simple thoughts" to readers in the hope that his messages will resonate with younger generations when they look back on this tumultuous, rapidly changing time in our history. Though Bristow humbly describes his ideas as simple, although they are easy to grasp, they also impart great wisdom and common sense. He discusses myriad topics, ranging from the importance of free, comprehensive and practical education for all, to families and the importance of cultivating strong, healthy relationships. Other topics include the law, substance abuse, the importance of taking pride in one's home, and the widening gap between science and religion, a gap that Bristow feels can and should be bridged. Accompanied by cartoons drawn by the author, Thoughts of a Simple Man expertly combines real-life anecdotes from Bristow's own life with a broader social commentary that transcends generation and culture. Clear, concise and practical, thoughts of a Simple Man is a thought-provoking, illuminating read. Discover more in the pages of this eminently readable new book. At age 86, Frank Bristow is enjoying his retirement. Thoughts of a Simple Man is his first book.

Book Simple Man

Download or read book Simple Man written by Stuart J. Prowse and published by . This book was released on 2006-08-01 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Simple Man is a book that consists of the authors thoughts and theories on the world we live in. Often angry. Sometimes revolutionary and at times just funny and stupid. Stuart presents a different way of looking at things, and that's all. It's not particularly groundbreaking writing, as Stuart himself will tell you "He's not a writer" but as a whole he certainly has some interesting views. And the book is well worth a look from anyone that feels that just maybe there is something more to life then what's being offered.

Book Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life

Download or read book Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life written by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2007-07-31 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This insightful collection of essays will guide you to apply the ancient wisdom of the Tao to modern life, and find infinite peace, freedom and joy. Five hundred years before the birth of Jesus, a God-realized being named Lao-tzu in ancient China dictated 81 verses, which are regarded by many as the ultimate commentary on the nature of our existence. The classic text of these 81 verses, called the Tao Te Ching or the Great Way, offers advice and guidance that is balanced, moral, spiritual, and always concerned with working for the good. In this book, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and has written 81 distinct essays on how to apply the ancient wisdom of Lao-tzu to today’s modern world. This work contains the entire 81 verses of the Tao, compiled from Wayne’s researching of 12 of the most well-respected translations of text that have survived for more than 25 centuries. Each chapter is designed for actually living the Tao or the Great Way today. Some of the chapter titles are “Living with Flexibility,” “Living Without Enemies,” and “Living by Letting Go.” Each of the 81 brief chapters focuses on living the Tao and concludes with a section called “Doing the Tao Now.” Wayne spent one entire year reading, researching, and meditating on Lao-tzu’s messages, practicing them each day and ultimately writing down these essays as he felt Lao-tzu wanted you to know them. This is a work to be read slowly, one essay a day. As Wayne says, “This is a book that will forever change the way you look at your life, and the result will be that you’ll live in a new world aligned with nature. Writing this book changed me forever, too. I now live in accord with the natural world and feel the greatest sense of peace I’ve ever experienced. I’m so proud to present this interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, and offer the same opportunity for change that it has brought me.”

Book The Words of a Simple Man from a to Z

Download or read book The Words of a Simple Man from a to Z written by Bertie Hall and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2008-09-23 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The time is here when a simple man can share some commonsense thoughts and knowledge to the entire world with simple words. Some people really don't have any interest for simplicity, whether it's for a person, place or thing. In most cases when something is not simple, quite likely, it may well be complicated. Being simple doesn't necessarily mean you are poor as most people seem to fall into that category. Frugalness, poverty, culture, religion, heredity, or humbleness could very well play a factor in simplicity where people are concerned.

Book One Man S Life and Thoughts

Download or read book One Man S Life and Thoughts written by Chuck Johnson and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04-10 with total page 139 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SING ONE SONG FOR ME Now it was just a simple casket made of pine and iron nails, Without a trace of carving or any polished brass for rails. It was assembled from a broken box splintered from abuse, Yet it had a simple beauty despite the way it had been used. It was placed before the altar on a stand of polished stone, A simple casket made of pine for a loved ones fi nal home. Only present there was silence not a choir was there to sing, Not one voice to sing his praises not a single human being. I cannot forget my sadness when they took the casket down, And placed it in a six foot hole beneath the cold, cold ground. Not one voice had sung his praises not a soul was there to see, And I wondered at my passing who would sing a song for me. Charles T. Johnson 9/20/96 Sing One Song For Me is a poem based on a song done by the Stanley Brothers called Who Will Sing For Me. It has been one of those songs that have always touched me deeply. I have spent a great deal of time alone, and I can relate to one asking if there will be anyone that will sing for me.

Book Lyrical and Lovely Thoughts

Download or read book Lyrical and Lovely Thoughts written by J. Kirby Smith and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-11 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's not for me to say exactly how bad or good this poetry is, that of course would be pretentious. I have to say and must say, however that I feel this is at least very authentic verse. Almost all it rhymes, yet, I like to think it has a voice and attempts a kind of mellifluous flow, if you will {if you will} It's been very painful over the years, to witness insincere pseudo poetry sometimes thrive because of its author's name recognition while someone like myself with no public saliency is ignored by so called traditional publishers. Therefore, I'm giving it one shot with AuthorHouse and will, if not successful, go back to being merely a pauper, a peasant, a pawn and a poker player! In the opening poem, "The Vicissitude of the Storm," the gossamer threads represent spider webs blowing in the wind. If I've ever accidentally written a perfect poem, that would be "The Season", in this column. It's not a very long poem but the alliteration, I like to think creates an astonishingly nuanced yet bent throbbing winter romance scene. In, "A Stone in a Pond", I try to convey the sadness I feel of how a bay is often adored by people standing near it who see it through their egos. But when it becomes less amorphous, grows into something g possibly wonderful yet different then them; if is scorned for not meeting their specific expectations. I haven't written any more poetry for many many years because of becoming weary of fighting unreceptive publishers. Yet, I've read and adored many sincere poets like Poe and Kents. The movie "Bright Star" about John Kents and his love interest touched me deeply. And ii like to think, I too, have a little something to say...
