Those were days of great pain and suffering, but they were also days in which we really came to know that God Almighty exists, and He is always aware of our heartache. We live in a world of sin and injustice, a world that chooses to follow its own course. We suffer the consequences of sin, on both a large and small scale, on a daily basis. No one is exempt. Suffering affords us the opportunity to understand that our intelligence, ability, or power becomes useless, and there is only one way out: to look to the One who overcame the world, the One who does have the power. The way out can seem impossible, but in His time, God always clears a new path. The great things that God did in the life of my family cannot be put away in a drawer, gather dust, and be forgotten. The same God who did great things during those painful days in 1996 can do miracles today in your life, if you will just believe.
